FU Nextel..

So tonight I am coming back from Delaware on I-95 North and I am talking to the dude I work with who is coming on the next shift and the call drops out. I had no service from Penn's Landing all the way up to like Allegheney Avneue.

WHAT THE FUCK? This is the middle of one of the largest cities on the east coast. They fuck you with the cell phones.

Actually I'd say FU to Nextel for their annoying "chirp chirp", but there ya go.

Nextel is great. Their reputation is so bad, you can ignore incomming calls you don't want to deal with (like my boss or annoying customers) and later just say "never got your call, you know how nextel is".

Our company used to be 1/2 Verizon, 1/2 Nextel... They converted everyone over to Nextel and it seems to have gotten worse. Now the chance of getting disconnected in the middle of a call is much worse since it's now Nextel on both ends all of the time.

It's strange. Some places my personal Verizon phone doesn't work, the Nextel works great. This is a rare occurence. Other places I have full signal on the Verizon phone, the Nextel says no service.

I have the i860 and whenever someone calls me they usually get the... "Please hold why your nextel subscriber is located" and half the time it goes right to my answering machine. The only places i get full service is The Casinos (A.C.) and the city (philly). I dont get service in my own hose.

So I too say fuck you to nextel.

In and out. In and out. I can't get Nextel in my own home b/c I live in a valley and yet for some reason, my mom and sister can get service. But they have Verizon. I'd switch but their ringtones are even more annoying than that "Chirp Chirp."

I've heard that about Nextel, but I've had both Cingular and T-Mobile and they both suck with amazing twenty minute drops on phone calls. The technology either isn't completely there yet or those companies are just the same shitty people that run all the baby bells throughout the country. Fuck cell phones and fuck Alexander Graham Bell.

My Craptel contract just expired last weekend, and I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. I don't know which was worse their network or their phones. I was with sprint before and anytime I talked to one of my friends who had nextel you would have thought that they were talking into a tin can on a string. I only went nextel because all of my friends were on it, then they bolted... The worst was I would be talking to my wife and the next thing I would get the call failed error, and couldn't talk for like 10 minutes... I would also drop service at least 3 times between my house and my work (Jenkintown) and couldn't keep a signal in my building...

I just went Cingular and its been good so far, and their main priority is to upgrade the network especially in the philly area. Oh, and the RAZR is fucking BAD ASS...

That's odd. I have a Nextel (i710) and I have rarely had a problem with their service. I had a few "issues" when the merger of Sprint and Nextel finally went through a few months ago. I brought my phone into a Nextel store and had the phone's firmware upgraded (free of charge) and no problems since. I have found that the two way will work in some areas where the regular phone doesn't. I have plenty of friends with the two way (Nextel or Boost), so it's worth my while to stay.
I will say one thing...the IDEN Motorola phones are really durable. I have dropped my current i710 numerous times and it still works. My old i88s model got dropped in the street and run over by a box van. The screen was intact and the phone still worked.

My work phone is a Nextel i710 and I want to throw it out the fucking window every day. I had another model phone (also Nextel) at my old job and it didn't drop calls nearly as much as this one.

My personal phone is an LG with Verizon service and I have few complaints.
