Ah, my V-cast phone... without it, how could I ever bring you this great picture?
http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/5310/01130610405yg.th.jpg (http://img66.imageshack.us/my.php?image=01130610405yg.jpg)
Anyway.. it's a great phone. And it's got Instant Messanger with it.
Here's the thing. The actual IM pogram is free to use, however for every message you send and recive, it counts against your text message number.
I'm like, fine... I get 50 texts a month... more than enough for me since it's free within Verizon.
Ok, bill comes today... I've used 110 texts!
:icon_surp :icon_conf :icon_evil
HOW THE FUCK DID THAT HAPPEN? All I've been using this phone for the most part is taking pictures such as this one:
http://myspace-258.vo.llnwd.net/00427/85/20/427610258_l.jpg
Well.. turns out it's because of the AIM & Yahoo thing on it.
Each Instant message counts as like TEN TEXT MESSAGES!
HOLY SHIT! IF I HAD FUCKING KNOWN THIS I WOULD OF NEVER HAVE SENT THOSE FIVE TEXTS!
I don't even know the exact number I went over by, or how much a instant message counts for,all I know is this fuck you is going out to Verizon Wireless!

I have been with Verizon for nearly four years and always had nothing complain about.
BUT these past three months have made me want to bomb Verizon headquarters(not really, no worries to those who work at verizon)
I made changes and up grades to my plan, so it would better suit my current cell phone needs. But next month when i get a bill for a grand cause they didnt apply my changes gets me slighty upset.
First month: i get a bill for 500 over my $120 bill
Second month: i get a bill for 800 over my bill
and now for the third month straight month with problems with verizon i get a bill for a fucking grand. $1,027.19 to be exact.
If i say i want more mintues, why dont you apply it to my account. Especially, after i make sure to stress it will count for my current billing cycle.
Now, after a year of trying to get out of credit card debt that was over 5,000 (and i'm only 19) i finally am debt free, only to be dragged 2,000 in debt over verizon.
verizon, this FU is to you!

The cell phone companies in Vancouver **** you up the ass. For example: Telus is a huge provider here. Prices are semi decent, service is good, BUT they make you sign either a 3 or 5 yr contract.
Who in their right mind would agree to a 5 yr term with a company, espcially knowing how basically every day something new and better comes out.
Bell, the second largest provider in this area gives you the option of a one year plan but you have to buy the phone at full price.
As much as i love my cell phone, i wish i hadn't become so dependant on it. first off it has cause me 2,000 debt and plus i'm sure it causes cancer. having radio waves or whatever next to your brain cant be to good for you. especially at the rate i use mine.

Been there, done that and HAPPILY paid the early canclleation fee.
but 2,000 bucks in 3 months on top of a monthly bill is a little ridiculous to me.

Verizon also offers unlimited text and picture messaging.

Yeah. I pay an extra $15.00 for unlimited texts but I text more than I talk, whether or not the recipient(sp?) likes it or not. Even with that extra $15.00 tacked onto my bill, I only pay $53-$54 a month. The only time I don't have service is when I'm in the middle of nowhere. Good thing I'm not in the middle of nowhere very often.

Verizon can be a total hop in the ass... You become soooo dependant on the damn cellphone, and they just lure you in for more minutes, more text or pix messages... Rat bastards!!!

Yea but fuckers got the best service
I've had Verizon for as long as I can remember and I really have no complaints with them. After I got a cell phone, I deicided to cut off the home phone and use the cell for everything. When people ask for two numbers on a form or something, I just say all I have is a cell phone number because I do not have a home phone. Am I just crazy or is this sensible? I never used the home phone anyways, the only people that called me on it are the telemarketers and mom, and frankly, I dont miss hearing from either.

That's very sensible, and I did the same, except kept my home phone on a bare bones plan. After the black out, and no way to charge the cell phone, I thought it was a good idea to keep it for emergencies. I don't get a good signal at my new place, so I have to have a home phone.

Bravo Sir. I've had verizon for about 5 years now, and have never had a problem. My old lady and me are on a family share plan with 500 peak minutes/unlimited nights and weekends ($65) that we split, and we have never gone over. I will never understand what the fuck people talk about on their cells for so long for.
PS. text messaging is for study hall, not the grown up world.

i have 4,000 mins and ive gone over a time or two.
mostly because i moved 3,000 miles away from the people i care about.since i cant just go over and hang out, or meet up for lunch with them. i spend alot of time on the phone. apparently over 4,000 mins in dec.
plus i have the bf train. calls me at 9 30 to wake me up. and in between classes and at night. :icon_wink :icon_wink
and i'd like to say text messaging does so apply to the 'grown up world'. nothing better then sending your bf (or gf) a dirty text massage while he (or she) is at work. they cant talk on the phone while at work, or use their personal email account. both could get them in trouble. so a text message is a good way to get their engine going for when they come home. not that ive ever done such a thing.
