Just picked up an HP Pavilion 8000 series with a 17" high def LCD with the ATI 200M chipset. I didn't think the card would work well with anything but I am dead wrong. This $1100 laptop can run the following games very well at medium settings: UT2k4, NFS:MW, HL2(almost no lag at all), and GTA:SA. Not only does this thing look good but performs gracefully on some of the most recent games. Anyone looking for a laptop should definatly give this one a look

It has 512 (2x256) off the line but can be upgraded to 2046 (2x 1gig sticks). I bought a 1gb stick for 150 at best buy and never been happier, multitasking smooth games galore. Now again this is NOT a gaming rig ala alienware, the ATI Express M200 does have its limitations BUT with that said, I can run HL2 a 1024x786 at mid range graphics and play without any lag or slowdowns. So far I have the following games that run great at medium/low settings... and the low settings still look fantastic and I know what a very high graphics can look like because I have a desktop gaming rig with a 6800GT and 2 gigs of ram:

HL2
Farcry
MXvsATV
MotoGP:URT
NHL 2006
GTA: SA
NFS: Most Wanted (only game that runs at 800x600 at lower settings to make it lag-free, still looks Than-tastic)
Swat4
UT2k4 (can be run at higher than medium settings but couldnt get around to it)

and of course... Duke Nukem 3D.

Keep in mind that this is only 1100 bucks, 1250 with the gig of mem. Alienware can suck it.
