The 81 points eclipsed Elgin Baylor's club-record 71 in November of 1960, and was the second-most in NBA history behind Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain's 100 for the Philadelphia Warriors against the New York Knicks in March of 1962. Bryant scored 55 of his 81 points in the second half, finishing 28-of-46 from the floor and 18-of-20 at the line. His previous career high was 62 points against Dallas in December.

That is amazing. Sure, the SOB doesn't pass the ball, doesn't have anyone else on the team, etc. etc. However, as much as I dislike Kobe, this is one of those special moments in history that I have to applaud.

he is really starting to annoy me. espn blows him like every nite and scoring 81 would be really impressive if his team was in the hunt for something. it is not so impressive when you dont pass the ball and take more than 50 shots, i mean holy shit does anyone else on the team even touch the ball. selfish and arrogant, so he can go f himself. and his team isnt that bad that he cant move the ball around.

I watched the last few minutes of that game because we get the LA Fox feed here in Vegas. The Raptors were just firing shots up like they wanted him to score 100 on them. Plus when he was just firing shots toward the end the refs started bailing him out by calling fouls, especially on a 3 that he missed badly.

They were down the whole game until late in the 3rd. Kobe is the best player in the NBA, playing on the worst team in the NBA. If you took Kobe off that team and put, say, Dwayne Wade on, they would be about 10 games under .500. The rest of those guys are just fucking awful, thats their only chance to win is if Kobe doesn't pass to those lame asses.

As a basketball player he is definately in the top 3 of the league, probably #1.


I will say that if i were a player getting embarassed like toronto was, i would have definately liked to throw an elbow right into his mouth. Sometimes players retaliate after mediocre fouls and dunks. Surprisingly this season no one has kicked Kobe's dick in after these bunches of games when he's scored 45+ points in.

Wilt was a center and it took him nearly 20 more shots to reach 100. Kobe is a guard, shot over 60% from the field and scored over 60% of his team's points. The only difference between those two is that Kobe's team is horrible. I would have much rather seen Iverson reach this milestone, though.

apparently you didnt get to see any of the game. toronto's lack of defense in the 2nd half was down right pathetic. i will give a guy credit but he isnt even close to being in jordans league. scoring points is not everything unless you subscribe to espn theories. there is plenty more to the game which he sucks at. his defense isnt anywhere near what jordan played EVERY night. with kobe its all about me and some of those players on his team arent as bad as everyone is portraying them. maybe if kobe didnt take 35% of his teams shots they might do a little better. he is a dick and i hate him more with every sportscenter hilight. god they blow him.

MJ scoring 63 on a legendary Celtics team is far more impressive than Kobe scoring 81 on Chris Bosh and 10 bums. Find me another SG that wins 6 rings without a center... and I'll show you the next Michael Jordan.

Points aren't even much of a real statistic - if some guy is getting all the passes of course he is going to have a bunch of points. The shittier the rest of your team is, the higher your points are going to be. Plus the Raptors stink.

Shaq is already a lot close to another championship than Kobe is. Nobody is saying Kobe stinks, he just isn't as good as he is hyped. You need to do more than just put up points to be as amazing as he is hyped. You need to adapt and fit into the team and complement them, and still continue to put up the stats. Kobe doesn't do that. Kobe can't do that. And that's why Shaq will always be better than Kobe.
