Here in Oklahoma City, the speed limits on the highways are fucking rediculous. 60mph in an 8 lane highway that doesn't curve for 25 miles? So naturally, everyone speeds.

Good thing I've never gotten a ticket, but this still is really unfair. Can they even do this?

The highway patrol has gotten smart. They realize that people can recognize their stupid unmarked cars from a mile away, due to the obnoxious amount of antennas and the fact they are all the same type of car. So recently they have been doing something completely unfair.

Let's say you are driving down the highway and you notice a cop car is ahead. It is unmarked, but you can still tell. So, you slow down so you don't get in trouble. Once you pass the cop, you see the lights. He chases you, pulls you over, and gives you your ticket. What? You weren't speeding.

How did he get you?

Well, right now those assholes are planting decoys. One cop sits on the side of the road in an ordinary vehicle, not an unmarked car, just anything you would see on a daily basis. It's pulled over on the side of the road with it's hazard lights flashing, to make it look like just a stranded car. This is where you are clocked with the radar gun.

The decoy cop sends the word to a cop in an unmarked car that is parked about a half a mile ahead that you were speeding. Once he sees you, he goes after you. Even if you slow down long before you reach the actual police car, they still have record of you speeding from farther back on the highway, and you get a ticket anyway.

Bullshit? Yes.

Or at least buy a radar/laser detector and play the game. I'd challenge the ticket too, because most States require the officer who witnessed the infraction issue it.

I know here in TN they started doing that same thing a few years ago. They did it in NC as well. I haven't seen them doing it in a while so maybe someone picked up on what douche_nozzle said and they quit doing it.

Gotta create revenue. Gotta pay the man. If the issue was about safety (as their BULLSHIT spokespeople say it is) then they would all remain in clearly marked cars in an effort to get you to slow down.

Down south a lot of the main highways have posted speed limits of 80 mph. I wish that was so here. Although I perfer to do 70 or so, it still would be good. The speed limits that we've been living with have mostly been intended for vehicles that weren't even really capable of the speeds the limits were set at. Until recently, the maximum US speed limit was 55 mph. Only recently did they start pushing it to 65 in NJ on the tpk and the pkwy, and 75-80 mph down south. It makes sense as cars are better built and can handle higher speeds, to allow us to go higher speeds.

It's also safer to drive at a higher speed as you have to pay attention and are less likely to fall a sleep due to boredom.

I have gotten a ticket on the southern State Pkwy from a douchebag that was atleast 15 to 20 car lenghts ahead of me, yes he was really far IN FRONT of me, got in the right lane slammed on his breaks got behind me and pulled me over telling me that I was doing 73 MPH....not 70 not 75 7 fucking 3 miles per hour. just by looking at his review mirror. Are you kidding me?

Lucky I work for the county so that ticket was quickly done away with.

wow - i didnt know that they did that on the pkwy... the dumbest thing i've ever seen was on 1-95 somewhere in MD - (they must have been using decoys as well) - but as a group of cars approaches an underpass, the cop goes out in the middle of the highway & signals the car to pull over...

If you want to get legal about it and piss off the cop, ask to see the radar gun. They are required to show you if you ask.

I agree with you 100% Delaware is doing this shit too.

Those laws are only in effect to bring in money. If the pigs spent a fraction of the time hunting down rapists and pedofiles we would have a much safer world to live in.

In the end, these cops don't have the balls to go in to an innner city and make some real changes to increase the quality of life. they would rather beat down the common man, why, less resistance!

Stupid fucking civil servants, I hope then next time a pig slides his hand inside of a crack head's pocket, he gets stuck with an aids infected needle and then goes home and infects his whole fucking family.

I am going to start keying every car that I see with an FOP badge on it. I'll teach those fuckers that they are not invisible. I'll keep the scratch small enough so that it isn't worth claiming on the insurance.
