The fucking tool taxed the engine and tranny too much. Get a truck to tow trailers, not Yugo's or even those slope moblie's Kia.

Some people are just idiots. But I guess if you can buy a car for $100, it is virtually disposable.

I would not buy an American car on a dare. When I was younger, I was all about the American car. But after getting burned time and time again, I bought a Nissan. From that first Jap car, I have never looked back.

Ever since I've owned Toyotas I'll never go back to American.
I need a reliable vehicle for my long commute and American cars just don't cut it.

My 1997 Camry has 270,000 miles on it and still runs great.
Any American car I've ever owned barely made it to 100,000

I drive a 2005 Mazda RX-8 and it runs wonderfully. Before that, I drove a Ford Focus as my practice car. It was awful, it broke down 3 times in the 7 months I had it. I am sticking with Mazda from now on.

still have my first car... err truck sitting im the driveway

'86 Chevy Silverado, 250,000 miles on original motor and tranny, and it'll go another 100k. But it's retired save for the occasional dump run. I now drive a '05 Silverado, and after a few break-in quirks, I'm totally happy with it

Domestic cars only became a problem when some electrical parts started getting outsourced to South America(thanks, Auto unions). Coupled with the fact that 80% of pencil-pushing geeks have no balls and can't change their own oil, let alone do routine maintenance, and American cars get a bad rep. But (edit)*most* American car/truck will have soul... they'll have personality. Imports are sterile and disposable.

I know this type of thinking the minority, and I like it that way:icon_mrgr

Considering that Honda and Toyota have assembly plants in the US, it speaks volumes.

Toyota being just a hair better in reliability and Honda has the edge in style/function, IMO.

Right like in my mother's 2002 CHEVY Malibu... Fucking dealership couldn't fix the fucking car.. it was in the shop multiple times becuase the car thinks the rear-passenger car is open when it's not, won't stop fucking beeping, that is before I removed that FUSE and now the problem is gone... So is the dome-light, and the other interior lights but everything else is ok...

Oh and the paint decided to separate from the body for no reason..

never again will an "AMERICAN" car be in my driveway... unless it's a TOYOTA or HONDA built in the USA.

My parents 1991 CHEVY LUMINA(another complete piece of shit) was built in Mexico..

I'd hate to bust your 1970's thinking bubble, No such thing as 'american' or 'japanese' anymore. Since the globalization of the workforce, the maority of the parts of these 'non-american' cars that you're all ranting and raving about aren't japanese at all.

My personal vehicle is a Ford truck. I really have no complaints. My company vehicle is a brand new 2005 Chevy Express. I got it brand new. It will be interesting to see how it holds up.

My parents own Toyotasa and they have been trouble free. My next personal vehicle will probably be a Toyota as I have grown to like what they have been putting out.

Wife drives a 2004 Audi A4, she loves it, and it's a kick-ass little car. I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe, and I will NEVER buy American again. I have had 2 Fords and now this Chevy, and I have had nothing but problems with all of them. Nothing major, just lots of small shit that shows me they don't give a fuck when they are putting them together. Next SUV for me, the Nissan Armada:

I drive an 06 Silverado 2500HD and won't buy a truck that isn't either a Ford or Chevy. For a truck, Chevy>Ford>Dodge>any Nissan, Toyota or Honda. For a car, Chevy's blow and Ford is as bad.

Yeah buddy.

Isn't the Focus primarily made of Mazda parts? As far as the RX-8, my neighbor has one and has had the engine replaced twice (don't know why, just know he comlains about it every time we sit around drinking).
