Great move by TNA, and Against All Odds was actually a very good PPV. Now that they're moving to primetime, I'm glad they realized they need a real champion, and Christian's the guy I'd want as the point man going into the next big phase for TNA...or at least anyone besides Jarrett.

I'm downloading the show now... I read that it was an amazing moment when Christian got the pin. I HAVE to see the crowd filling up the ring.
They have to keep the belt on Christian for at least 4 months (should be longer), and let him defend it against Jarrett once, when Raven returns give him a shot, let Truth get a shot. Christian has to be a fighting champion -- hell, I want Christian vs. Sting, too.

Good for him, he deserves it. Jarrett stinks. I hope they keep it on him for awhile.

I didn't see it, but I've read that there is a chance that Jarrett could eventually get dq'd in a Dusty finish since he KO'd the second ref or something? TNA isn't that stupid ....... are they?

....is it just me or shouldn't this thread have originally been made about 6 months ago and titled "Christian wins Smackdown World Heavyweight Title"? :icon_roll

It's a shame WWE never really took him seriously. But they chose to push Masters, Orton, Carlito, and The Boogeyman instead.
I think they're really going to regret losing him down the road. And now that Christian's the top guy, even though I have nothing to base this on, I wouldn't be surprised to see Chris Jericho make an appearance in TNA by the end of the year to help him out a bit.

Theyre not gonna give Boogeyman a serious push are they? He cant be anything more then a joke...

As for pushing Carlito and Orton, I understand that...they are athletic and capable in the ring. Carlito has pretty good mic skills and whatnot. But I'd trade Masters, Boogeyman, Carlito, Orton, and the Raw tag team paper-weights in order to have Christian and Jericho back

Is Jericho really gone? I kinda thought he was just on vacation and/or touring with Fozzy.

He never actually said he was retiring because he knows like the vast majority of people who leave almost definitely always end up coming back at least once. But I don't think he has any real plans to come back any time soon. Initially he left because he wanted the time off to rest up his body and do some tours with the band.
I have a feeling you'll see Jericho back in a wrestling ring again, but I would guess it's more likely to be a stronger TNA as opposed to the WWE in its current state.

I actually think Carlito is on par with Christian as a performer. He's going to be a huge star in wrestling.

Actually, it looks like Monty Brown will get the first shot. He's probably earned it. There's a lot of guys who at least deserve title shots; Monty, Rhyno, Abyss, Sting, Raven...I think after Monty, we may get Christian vs. Sting...Jarrett seems like he's headed for a feud with Raven as a part of this Jackie Gayda fiasco. Eventually, it needs to lead to Christian vs. Joe, though.

Jericho's got some crappy SciFi movie coming out soon, I think. The only way I'd see him coming back to WWE is if he decides to wrestle full time again. I don't see him popping in for the "one match" gag like Rock, Austin, etc because I don't think WWE would give him a high profile enough match. I don't think they consider Jericho a high-profile enough star.
He seems more likely to go to TNA to me, wrestle a special attraction with Christian, and then go back to whatever he's doing now.

I have to admit Carlito's impressed me a lot lately and I think he'll be a huge star, too. But I don't think he's quite there yet. Meanwhile, Christian's seemed like he's been there for a while now, and was just wasted in WWE. I'm glad he's getting his shot now.

TNA will be on Thursday nights...one hour show leading into their UFC stuff.
Carlito is a good worker with a load of potential...but they are not really giving him the chances to show his personality that Christian and Edge had back in the day...but I think he's got a huge upside, and I'm very excited for Christian...
