Okay, I'm going to throw myself under the bus here.
Alot of you are like me and have the embarrassing hobby. It may require high levels of talent and skill but your fellow Wackbaggers may look at you a little funny. And we all know every hobby has it's related websites.
So here is it, get it off your chest. This is internet confessional. What is your hobby? Where can you read more about it on the net?
Hello, my name is Michael, and I build little pewter and plastic men.

Not so embarrassing - but expensive, so I guess I'll be embarrassed that I spend so much damn money on my tanks!

God Damn why didn't I meet you while I was still single.
I always wanted to get into salt water aquariums, but I don't have the funds yet. My hobby is Star Wars collecting. I used to collect all of the toys, but last year I gave that up and went into buying and making props. I thought it was tough keeping up with the toys, this is even harder. My wallet is crying and my wife is getting pissed that I am dropping so much money on one item instead of a bunch. Websites I often go to are....http://threads.rebelscum.com/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=UBB27

I get bored easily, so I try not to invest too much money into my hobbies. When I was a tween my Grandmother taught me needlepoint. My mom taught me how to knit and recently tat. My friend got me started on counted cross stitch. I don't do any of these anymore, although I really want to get the hang of tatting.
I've also been a pack rat (not really a collector) of NJ Devils stuff and at one time got into hockey card collecting. I got bored with that, too, and am hoping to sort through it and get a lot of it up on ebay.

I broke my addiction about 5 years ago to keeping a reef tank. I stop counting on how much I spent at $10,000. I had all kinds of fish, anonomea, soft corals, and crustaceans. Over 100lbs of Red Sea Reef Rock...(black market), filters, protein skimmers, pumps, specialized lighting, and the list goes on and on. Was stung once by a Lion Fish, and got the bejebus scared out of me when a stone fish stowed away on some rock I bought....very bad venom.
Thank god, I'm not the only fool in the world that loves reefs tanks...though I have since sold EVERYTHING for about 10 cents on the dollar.
I don't have the time anymore really but I can get obsessed with needlepoint. Not the junky craft store needlepoint but handpainted canvasses. I can easily spend hundreds of dollars on a single canvas and threads. I don't even allow myself to go into the store anymore because I still have like 7 pieces I don't have time to finish. Although I have been thinking about making Christmas stockings for my girls forever (Im an atheist Jew) but keep holding off. Hobby- an excuse to spend way too much money on things you don't need.

Bobbleheads, Starting Lineups, mcfarlane action figures, pins, books you get the point, but the biggest and most expensive part of the hobby is Autographies and game used memorabilia. I am trying to get every met ever who atleast played one game in a mets uniform to get a signed 8x10 of them. I also get autographed baseballs of the more famous and my favorite players.
