Frontpage of WWE.com is now announcing Bret "Hit Man" Hart will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The Hit Man will be inducted on April 1, 2006 in Chicago, IL. (The day before WM)

Also a pretty cool video promo up..


Can't say I'm surprised by this.. after the dvd release, and him appearing on byte this, it was only a matter of time before he buried the hatchet with Vince and finished his career the proper way. The only question now is if he will be at WrestleMania or not, and inductees usually are. But by the appearance of the very brief statement, it doesn't sound like anyone is sure yet.

I'm sure he'll appear at Wrestlemania. The bigger question is will he have anything else to do with the event, especially considering they're having a Vince McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels match, and will he have anything to do with WWE from that point forward.

EDIT: I wonder if they'll put Owen & The Bulldog in posthumously with Bret as well.

very happy to hear about this, i was a huge Bret Hart fan growing up. it really looks like the only reason to watch WM now is just to see if Bret makes an appearance, since the rest of the event looks to be pretty craptacular. that is probably why they're inducting Bret in the first place. WWE knows WM is gonna be garbage this year, so they had to do something people would actually be interested in seeing.

Someone was talking about this online after the Bret announcement, and it's kind of unlikely it'd happen any time soon if ever because there's a ton of really bad blood between WWE and Owen's widow to the point where no one knows if she'd take part in the ceremony.
