Holy fuck, I need to get out of my line of work, ASAP. Fucking hours are atrocious, and the long hours are filled with either incredible boredom or incredible stress (I'm a commercial litigator in NYC). Been with the new job about 3 1/2 months and it seems like a year. It's brought me to tears. I am literally selling my body and soul, and am underpaid at that rate.

Thank you, HummerTuesdays, for the kind words. The 'baggers are much more supportive than my folks about my desire to move on, largely b/c it is, by most standards, a very good paying job (I do well, but earn less than the market rate for someone of my position b/c I am at a smaller firm, but still have to work the hours that people do at megafirms).

just got laid of on 3/2/06 they left me come in a 6am just to wait till 8:30am to tell me that i,m being laid off , i mean shit they wasted like 3hours of my life letting me sit there , i couldnt give a big fuck you to them because they watched me until i left and i would probal see a lawsuit if i did something , but its ok i have a second income anyway and its more than what i made there thats for sure , but i hope a couple of people i worked with get out of there before the company goes under and to hell with the rest of the pricks there
