Anyone remember back in the ol' days, the date when Jimmy's first call or first appearance on the show? Kinda of important. Any help appreciated.

Dice was on the phone and put Norton on. Norton told a story that involved him and a nice young lady and butterscotch pudding

I thought that might be the bit, but wasnt sure. Have it, but I'll keep researching to see if there was anything before.

Wasn't there a champagne flute of yellow discipline involved?

His first call in was during a Dice call on September 14th, 2000

First in studio was when he felt up patty, the butterscotch call came after the voyer bus, which was after Norton was a friend. I'm not sure if he called in before the patty feel up or not.

The butterscotch thing had to be after Voyeur Bus, because at the beginning of the Dice call, O&A mention that they haven't talked to Dice since Voyeur Bus and Dice said something like, "I told you guys you'd get in trouble for that." So that couldn't have been the first time Norton was on the show.

His first time on the show was a phone call with Dice back in September of 2000.

That was definitely early on in his friendship in O&A, I'm not sure if it's absolutely the first one. Could be.

He was first mentioned on the show by Dice on a phoner who said they should meet his friend Jim Norton who is a freak or something like that.

I remember it was shortly before I went up to my college to visit some friends who were still there and discovered that Lil Jimmy and Colin were up there a week before. I made a comment that Jimmy was a guy that Dice worked with.

I'm pretty sure the Butterscotch Phone Call was the first time Norton was on O&A. I think they even did a Norton retrospective one time before they were fired in which they replayed it.

"No, but the consistency was there." -- Jim Norton's first appearance on the show

One of his first in-studio appearances (not the very first, but among them) was when he and florentine were in studio and the guys played "hey, any celebs listening, call/come in" in Spring 2001. Devin Ratray, aka Buzz from Home Alone, came in and it was one of the best WNEW shows ever. They called Jimmy "The Yoda of Pedophillia." A classic bit.

from what i remembered...Dice was talking about Jimmy and how he likes prostitutes and whatever and O&A showed little interest. WHen Dice played the Beacon Theater, he had Norton open for him and put him on the phone during the call with the boys. Norton told his story about Butterscotch Pudding. I remember that being the first time I ever heard Norton, and then i saw him perform at the Beacon and the O&A fans were booing him off stage yelling for O&A (O&A were going onstage after Jimmy but before Dice). Then Jimmy ended up turnign them around, it was amazing. I remember my friend turning to me and saying "Norton was funnier than Dice". Maybe if you think the butterscotch pudding call happened after that its just because it made a "Worst of" you thought was new or something

I don't remember Jimmy's first day but I do remember Patrice's. Vos proudly brought him in and then was ***** for the rest of the show by Jimmy and Patrice.

I don't have the Jim phone call, but I do have Jim's actual first in-studio appearance. I can get it onto my computer and put a link to it if anyone wants.

all i know is that it's fall of 2000 around the same week Dice was going to do the Madison Square Garden show.
i posted clips up at http://wackbag.com/showthread.php?t=40696
which were pretty clean i thought

the first appearance I remember was the phone call. He must have been in prior, but it was the yellow discipline in the flute conversation and the boys thought it was really odd that he used words like "slacks" and "trousers" if I recall...

If patrice's show doesn't kick ass tonight, i consider him useless.

I'd say he delivers 30 minutes of funny in a 4 hour show...unacceptable by my standards. The boys really need to get someone else in there to bump patrice back to the 3rd/4th option. He is loyal as hell, but you gotta draw the line somewhere.

Don't get me wrong the show where he talked about relationships was great, but those are few and far between with good old obvious fake laughing patrice.

It is March 11, and Jimmy's first phoner was the discussion of him driving and having yellow goodness in a wineglass...also some discussion of quasi-forced roadhead. Dice made the suggestion and got him on the phone, and if I remember right Dice was also on the phone.

speaking of audio clips, i just found a great clip of Hoo Hoo talking about the O&A firing (its from 2002), and he's ripping on Bubba The Love Sponge and how he's an ass. 5 minutes in he calls everyone clones, rips on bubba, says O&a suck, and says he is known for inventing everything.

He also said that two years before, he warned Ken Stevens that if he doesn't keep O&A in line, he'll get fired. So Hoo Hoo can tell the future!

also from this clip, He invented Fear Factor!

And how he never hated them and was shocked that they turned on him
