One of the few off-season moves the team completed is making the name change official. But that is ok because I think the team is in good shape to defend the AL West crown. I just hope we do something more in the playoffs than just knocking the Yanks out it.
Some young tallent will finaly get a real chance this year. Dallas McPherson is back from injury and all indications are that Casey Kotchman is going to start either at 1B or DH. Jeff Mathis is slated to start at C and Kendry Morales may get a look this spring. Plus, Ervin Santana looks like the real deal and Brandon Wood had a monster year in the minors. Its going to be interesting how this all plays out for the team...
Anderson, Colon, Figgins, F-Rod and the great Vladimir Guerrero...Let's go Angels!

shit, Angels get no love on wack bag eh? Damn yankee fans. Anyway I'm originally from CA and a big Angels fan, looking foward to the season. Yeah they were very quiet this off season, even though they were mentioned in many big trade rumors, wouldve loved to see em bring in another proven big bat, konerko woulda been awsome, but we do have allot of young talent and a great farm system so hopefully somebody will step up this year and we can actually score some runs. Go 'Halos!

I agree...Konerko would have been great but I think one of the young players will step up. Anything to keep those fucking A's down...

I'm not an Angels fan but I respect their ability to evaluate talent and build an awesome farm system. I feel they got the best farm in ALL of baseball and will be a playoff caliber team for the next decade. Great Owner, GM, Coach... good mix...

Sucks for Vladi but hopefully he can get his head back in the game soon. The Angels are going to really need him.

Guerrero leaves Angels after death of three cousins
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Los Angeles Angels outfielder Vladimir Guerrero was given Monday off after three cousins died in a car crash in the Dominican Republic.
Three males, all first cousins, were killed in the Sunday crash, said Tim Mead, vice president of communications for the Angels. The deceased -- Fernando Guerrero, 26; Salvador Carmona, 25; and Henry Guerrero, 23 -- were all buried Monday in the Dominican Republic. Few other details about the wreck were available.
The 2004 AL MVP was given the day off "to spend his time getting in contact with family members. [General manager] Bill Stoneman and [manager] Mike Scioscia felt it was best for Vladimir to have some time to tend to whatever he needs to tend to," Mead said.
Mead said he expected Guerrero, who was planning on leaving the team later this week to join the Dominican Republic team in preparation for the World Baseball Classic, to be back in camp on Tuesday.
"Anytime something like this happens everybody feels it," Scioscia said. "It's a tough time for Vladdy. He's excited about playing baseball and excited about a lot of things, but unfortunately this happened and, obviously, there are other priorities."

Because they left out the "Of Anaheim?" (did the team officially drop it this year?)
Or because it says Los Angeles at all?

born and raised in plain sight of the Halo sign
driving north on I-5 from Orange County, the second you pass the 'entering LA county' sign, is like a free-fall into hell.

Damn that does suck for Vlad. You'd think he'd take more time off, but alot of times athletes like to get right back out on the field after a tragedy, I guess to keep thier minds off of it. Remember Favre that Moday night after his dad died?

Hey baggers, if this isn't allowed or anything let me know. I'm goin out to Oakland for the opening series but one of my friends can't make it. I have an extra ticket for opening day (4/3) and the game the day after (4/4). I'm just looking to get rid of these for face value. They're $50 each Opening day's ticket are in the West Side Club and you get a free meal with the ticket. The game the next day is 3rd row right next to the A's dugout! Sweet seats. If you're either going to, live in CA, or know any A's fans who might want these let me know by PM or reply to this post.

PM a mod and have them start a new thread for you. I doubt many A's fans will see this in an Angels thread:action-sm
that's a killer deal though, they sound like badass seats
