After hearing Howard make the coment that Bubba will bring in more listeners then Oprah, I ran acroos this Article on Oprah in People. Some quick Oprah Math. After Faith Hills Apperence on Oprah Sales of her album Double in One week. After Oprah Mentions Some Bra, Sales Rise 189% in one day. 85,000 copies sell after 4 days Oprah named "A million Little Peices" Book of the Month. NordStroms online sold 260 pair of Jeans after averaging only 12 because of Oprah Mention. These are facts not just an out of touch aged Shock jock lies. Imagine what Xm will Sell when the people are getting Oprah and not Just something she Likes.

I agree. She may not be of interest to most of us here, but she is freakin OPRAH!! The bitch is a cash machine!!
The thing about Bubba is just fucking rediculous, what Howie needs to acknowledge is that Oprah is WAY bigger than he is, so I think Oprah coming to XM is much bigger than Howies move to Sirius, just not as much as a marketing clusterfuck....... because she don't have to create the clusterfuck, she just goes on air and says "Ladies, buy XM", and those bitches will RUN to the stores

Howie is still mad at Oprah because he said, "Tossed the salad" on the radio and got fined. She said it on TV and didn't get fined. He's a big baby. Boo hoo hoo. I know quite a few people who aren't happy with his new show. They stopped listening. All he has done since joining Sirius is bitch and complain.

I'll admit I was once a huge fan of Howard (since he came to Toronto in 1997, and even after he left years later). But all the spinning and lies started to take it's toll on me. That, and the fact that I started comparing him to more edgier stuff (which I never did before). He's definitely dropped down a couple hundred pegs.

Out of the 6,296,789 subscribers, the boys are responsible for at least 6,296,788 and give at least 1 to Oprah.

Just kidding, Oprah is not my thing but its huge for the company. I would like to see Lazlow on 202, he kicks ass.

The Howard thing, if his show is so damn good and he is bringing in all these listners, why does he feel the need to defend himself all the time. A little unsecure about being worth one trillion dollars are we?

Lazlow should get a weekend gig on 202 and during the week help Steve out with the porduction that's what should be done, IMO. But, I'm just another douche bag listener, so who cares what I think.

The problem is that chicks who listen to Oprah won't have any interest in O&A. It won't bring any more listeners to 202. It won't spread the virus.

it's not about bringing them to 202, it's about bringing them to xm so they can continue to exist...

I doubt XM would ever go away. Sat radio in general is here to stay.

Just because the twunt buys it for the Big O, doesn't mean her bf/husband/whatever isn't going to give O&A a try.

The DTV deal has brought quite a few subs in because of holes listening. It's not all bad for the show, which is a mere cog in the big machine that is XM.

HAHAHA! that would be awesome!

And Oprah will bring some listeners to O&A. But as said, whats important is it brings more people to XM. If she really touts XM, & really puts some effort into her channel here, it's just gonna be huge for XM. Her millions of fans buy what she promotes. It was a brilliant idea getting her in our camp.

I'm sure Oprah has some a bunch of Jewish CPA's on staff to count her money. She's smart and wouldn't trust some knitter to do it, they'd just try and rob her blind.

I'm sure I'll get bashed for this but I have to say that Oprahs show is really good if you catch it on the right day. Some of the episoded i've watched had her talking to the top selling Gospel singer admitting that he is addicted to porn, Christopher Dardin talking about the OJ trial with ten years of perspective behind him, chicks who are addicted to sex....etc.
I'm just sayin.

No it is about Hoo Hoo being humiliated by the fact that O. brings more
subs. to XM than he did to Sirius.

One thing that is against Oprah is that chicks aren't as likely to run out, buy a receiver, call XM to activate it, have it installed in their car etc etc as much as guys are.

Yeah yout right, Husbands Will. And women are more than Capable of Buying a receiver and having it installed. Time will tell but her addition can be nothing but positive.

Oprah fans are probably not likely to get XM for themselves. I would almost bet that a housewife buys her husband an XM becasue she knows that Oprah is on there and she can listen to. Sort of like when my brother bought me a CD for christmas one year, it was opened, and he said if I don't like it he would keep it.

I bet that shortly before Oprah's network goes on, she will have a show where she will demonstrate XMs hardware and tell her legion of fans that they can either get the portable unit or get their husband to put it in their car for them. Oprah is a lot of things, and one of them is an expert at marketing.

I doubt there will be much, if any, crossover with her fans to O&As show. Having seen Oprah's show a few times, I would highly doubt that she will affiliate herself with O&A in any way....she just won't bring them up. But Oprah won't bash them, as she will be a loyal and intelligent XM employee.

I am sure Oprah's use was in good context. Hoo Hoo has no brains or concept of what context means. Buying Sirius because of Howard = Dumb. At least Siruis has better music selection and more XL channels. The only bad thing I have to say about XM is their lack of XL music. Thats the whole reason I signed up for XM. Who wants to hear most or some of the words cut out or overwritten with stupid scratching effects? When I saw there were 3 XL rock stations and only 1 XL rap station I wanted to quit XM and go to Sirius. Thank god I was too lazy to do it at the time because I checked out O n A once I saw they weren't on the premium any more and they are the only reason I kept my XM and it never strays from 202 or Ethel (the only music channel with original content that isnt played out; thanks for the reference Opie). XM is nice but damn, why does everything have to be edited? Especially hip-hop/rap. My buddy has Sirius and hardly any of their music channels are edited for language. Maybe thats why they have FCC issues and shit like that. But with XMs channel blocking, make with more XL content.
