Preview off WWE.com says:

-Triple H vs. Big Show vs. Rob Van Dam for the main event at Wrestlemania
-Ric Flair vs. Shelton Benjamin for the IC Title
-Mick Foley will confront Edge
-Another WWE Hall of Fame inductee will be announced (my guess is Eddie Guerrero)

Sutsu

HHH wins the triple threat. Edge and Foley gets set up for Mania (or at least the next ppv). RVD goes back to being cannon fodder for cheap good matches that don't push his career anywhere. Hopefully Shelton's momma will have a big fat embolysm or something and dies on stage.

wishful thinking here. if shelton gets the IC belt, while expressing joy for her "son" that fat bitch actually goes into cardiac arrest prompting either that owen-falling-quick camera turn, lita-tit-blackout or long commercial break. however that would be played out it's a winner to get that hole off the program. anyone else find it ironic that she's always knitting? HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH Y'ALL!

I love how we all KNOW it is a foregone conclusion that Triple H wins. Triple H winning this match is the worst kept secret since Liberace came out of the closet.

How about the extra hall-of-fame entrant being announced is Shawn Michaels as incentive to retire? Of course it will be a work to build up the animosity between the showstopper and Vince.

The betting isn't on Shelton Benjamin winning, but rather how long will take for Ric Flair to bleed!

On a side note.....did anyone notice how bad it looked when Ashley's (I think it was her) leg hit the ground? Looked like a compound fracture, and a shit load of people rushed out there afterwards.

Even though wrestling sucks compared to like 10 years ago think about the brillance of Vince McMahon.

He gets a network to PAY him to run his 2 hour weekly commercials interspersed with some hour shows that he is paid for as well. Just to run his commercial for his pay-per-views.

Well Winger and Skid Row were busy, and the original members of Genesis said that the only person sane enough to work Peter now was Peter...so there you go.

The important question is whether or not Motorhead will perform HHH's theme song for the 4,293 rd Wrestlemania in a row.

Even if he were considered, I doubt Savage would associate with WWE if they're still on friendly terms with Hogan. Those two...well, they don't see eye to eye.

And you're right about Andre/Hogan - it really was an awful match, but it didn't matter at the time. Andre was the biggest (no pun) monster in all of wrestling, and seeing Hogan slam him managed to make Hogan even bigger.

Wow, why all the hate for HHH? Just because everyone here wanted RVD to win?

You can say it was a predictable I guess, but you can't say he hasn't worked for this. He's been out of the title picture for almost a year. And as much as you think his backstage politics or whatever make him non deserving, he'll still make a hell of a better champion than Cena, and nobody can deny that.

RVD will get his shot, and he'll definitely be champ someday, but right now they need a proven guy to salvage RAW from months and months of awfulness.

Okay, two points to this.

1) RVD will not get a shot. I'll tell you exactly why too. Vince didn't create him. RVD was created by himself, and Paul Heyman. The only guys I can think of that won either main title in WWE that weren't WWE creations were Benoit and Eddie.

2) And to contradict my previous point, you say that as if RVD ISN'T proven? To you I say this.

Flush your WWE. Buy some WCW, and go fuck Shelton's mother! :action-sm

I meant proven as champion that can carry a brand.

Maybe we can get swhoogie in here for some "Booking 101"

But you may be right on your first point. But it's not always the case, there's also Goldberg, and what about guys like Austin, The Rock, Cena, etc who 'created themselves'??.. so you can't really use that as a way of ruling out the possibilty of someone ever getting a title run just because they created their own gimmick or gained their popularity in some other company.

If there was some underlying hatred of Heyman, RVD, or anyone else who has been "held down", they wouldn't be with the company anymore. I'm sure they have big plans for RVD.... well I hope. I'm just saying HHH deserves the belt again at this point in time.

Ok, time to do some comprimising here.

Although RVD never held the ECW World Title, don't forget that he was ECW TV champion for 23 months. Which he was never given the World Title because think of it from the promoters POV. You have RVD who is guarenteed to bring people in, and then you can also put another big name match together for the World title to bring in more fans.

Now, to prove my point more, what did Goldberg ever accomplish in WWE? Do I have to remind you of the Goldberg/Golddust back stage segment where Golddust gave Goldberg the wig?

Now, as far as the "created themselves" people, did they really itr? :action-sm Did they really create themselves, or did Vince and the writing team create them?

I really don't have much hate for HHH. I'm just sick of the same people being on the top in WWE. Vince needs to realize that these people will not always be around. They are doing the exact same thing that WCW did before they died. The whole Millionaires Club vs New Blood schtick. Now, I admit that the second half of RAW was watchable tonight, but It wasn't enough to re-hook me.

A proven champion can carry a brand, but HHH isn't tht champion. Some of the lowest ratings ever were achieved during the title reigns of HHH. RVD has been fucked over by the WWE from day one. Why do you for a minute think that HHH will give him a title shot. HHH is the only wrestler that is actively writing angles for himself and others, and no one can tell Stephanie's hubby to do anything different.

WWE wrestling is in a tremendous amount of trouble right now from a creative standpoint. The only things we didn't see coming was the women's winner (SFW!) and the appearance of Marty Jannety. Seriously the major angles and matches included Marty Jannety, Vince, Shawn Michaels, HHH, Big Show, RVD, Shelton Benjamin, Ric Flair, Edge, Mick Foley, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Remove RVD and Shelton Benjamin, and any of these angles could have happened 8 to 10 years ago. Seriously where is the creativity? The only decent character that have been developed over the last few years that is decent on the mic, and on the mat, is fucking Carlito.

It's because it's too fucking predictable. HHH needs to at least go face if he's going to stay in the title hunt. Instead he continually squashes anyone else's push who's a heel on RAW because he's set himself up to be the top one for almost four years now.

Edge should get the top heel spot for a while. He did a great job. But he had to lose so HHH could squash Cena at Wrestlemania.

I think that's the overall problem with the WWE, too many heels, not enough faces. The only way Triple HHH ever becomes a face, he has to be off TV like for months and then when he does come back, he is like a face for a hot minute, before turning again. Angle better heel than face. Edge the only way he is becoming a face, is he has to be screwed in a big way. Cena, nobody likes Cena. RVD, as much as like they guy, I don't think he could carry an organization as a top face. The WWE needs someone to be the new face and far as I can tell no one is ready to take that role yet.

50% agree. Carlito and RVD should be the top faces, and in my humble opinion, I think Carlito is ready. But obviously, The McMahons don't think so

but 100% agree that it will be only Carlito

I'd like to see RVD given the chance to run with the ball, but I doubt he would ever get it (although the reactions to him Monday night were great) and I'm not 100% sold that he could be the top guy.

And yeah, while it depends on how they turn him and when it's done, I really think that when Carlito turns face he will be absolutely huge. The only reason why I say he's not ready yet is I think he needs some more time in the ring to be able to work 20-25 minute main event matches.

rvd's mic skills really lack while carlito's are pretty good. rvd is great but he is just to mellow, and doesnt seem to have the depth as a character like carlito does. it just seems like carlito should be fighting for the IC belt rather than the wigger belt right now.

RVD cut great promos in ECW when he was just thrown in front of a camera and could pretty much say whatever he wanted to. The guy was an arrgoant prick and people loved him because of that.

The problem with him now is pretty common to a lot of WWE guys and has derailed a lot of careers.

WWE has a team of writers who basically write scripts out for these guys and have them memorize it word for word. Add to it the fact that many of the writers have no background in wrestling and guys get promos that don't fit their personality, come across as stupid, or just flat out don't work.

Back when Russo was the head writer, he would just give guys a basic direction he wanted the promo to go in and the wrestlers were pretty much free to do what they want within that framework. Look at all the stars who struggled earlier in their careers who blew up once they were given more control over their characters; Austin, Rock, Mankind, DX including Triple H.

And in Heyman's ECW, he bascially just put the matches together and guys could do whatever they wanted in their promos. And more stars came out of/through ECW in the 90s than pretty much anywhere else.

The way WWE does business hurts a lot of these guys.

HHH was getting huge face pops when he back this last time. That lasted less than an hour then he nailed Flair with the sledge hammer and we were back to the same HHH we've grown to hate.

I don't think RVD will ever get to hold the RAW belt-I could see him holding the Smackdown belt, as they clearly hold that one in lower esteem.

They question is-does he need the belt? Probably not. Does he deserve and chance to run with the title? I think so.

Will he ever get it-no-he'll be IC champ again, probably this year, but I would not be suprised if the closest RVD gets to the world belt was this past monday's raw. Unfortunately-I think he's really a great worker.

Eventually, Vince is going to have to let some other guys carry the ball for him, but I don't think that he will ever let someone so clearly identified with ECW hold his belt.

Am I the only one who thought the Spirit Squad showed some workrate?

Yeah, it's because the Spirit Squad is comprised of a bunch of wrestlers who individually all have a good amount of talent.
