Whats up re new programs? Anything on the horizon?
I don't WANT any other shows on 202. I like Ron & Fez, but I'm annoyed they eat up my replays a bit. I'd prefer them on a seperate channel.
Howards lack of replays is really bugging me. He has lotsa peripheral shit on his channels and very few Replays. I'm hoping he changes that soon as I'm getting fed up. & he has NO replays on the weekends! :icon_evil

lmao. I dont post on here that much so I've never seen you, but just a minute ago I was thinking "gosh, are there any fans who like both Opie and Anthony and Howard Stern?". Thats pretty funny how you find yourself caught in the middle. Eh, you like what you like I guess.
3 replays a day for O&A and I think 2 for ron and fez. I dunno, thats pretty good right? And I agree, I hope they dont litter High Voltage with more and more redunandant crap. For example, every time I venture on over to Howard100 or 101 I NEVER hear his show. Its either Bubba or Howies news program (which is embarrasingly sad I might add)

your damn right. that "news" gets BEAT TO DEATH. & JESUS, the "Intern Show" it is AWFUL. How the pitch for a show with a bunch of idiotic interns got approved is beyond me. Howard must be fukin DESPERATE for content.
Just replay the fuckin show. and an hour of Wrap Up 2X a day is ok. thats it. the rest of his created content should be on 101. 100 should be all Howard.
& while I like R&F, I'd prefer tham on their own channel so I can get the boys all the time on 202.

I have to admit sometimes the replays become a bit too much...I love listening to the old bits of the boys..but..they need to add a bit more flavor to the channel...I love O&A and R&F but..just too many replays! I live down in DC-LAND and there were 2 guys down here named Big O & Dukes..they had a pretty decent show and talked constantly of the "Golden Ticket"

I love the replays cuz you can hear the whole show during the rest of the day/evening. I mean that days show. Thats why I got XM, for the boys.
The worst of are cool too, but i just liek to hear the current days shows.

I like catching the replays of the show in the afternoon...(I work odd shifts and dont get to catch the show when it first comes on but catch it most times at 3 when it is replayed!) but..on the weekend when i get out of work its like i constantly hear the same stuff over and over. Stern was on WJFK down here and I listened to him for a bit on a friends sirius before committing to XM..he really does suck...no different than when he was on regular radio! Is anyone from here going to the St. Patricks Day Party in NYC? The last O&A Event I have been to was the 2nd Softball game in Newark..lol..that was awesome..wish they were gonna have another one of those!

Not much interest in Howard, but it does seem odd to me that he doesn't just have one of the channels just play his show and nothing else, and use the second channel for the rest of the stuff.
I don't know what XM have planned for O&A replays in the future, but I am a bit worried that it may result in losing the Ron and Fez replay at midnight. I just don't see XM adding another channel for Ron & Fez.

Well, that's a prime example of what happens when you want 55+ to be your target demo. Basically, you get terrible radio. On the upside, I think those two are podcasting now, though I haven't heard it. And apparantly Chad Dukes' sports show is the highest rated in the Baltimore area.
Oh. And I apologize to people who aren't in the area for hijacking the thread.

The boys mentioned that something happened to hold up the Golden Ticket thing... and that it would be resolved soon, so we could be seeing more Golden Tickets soon.
As for Ron and Fez, my speculation is that eventually they are going to be moved to XM 152 - E-Lo mentioned something about getting an O&A replay back at 11:00 am - and Opie has speculated that Ron and Fez would be getting some kind of upgrade... If I remember correctly, the situation with XM 152 is that Clear Channel is in control of the programming - perhaps they are waiting for the contract to run out - or to buy out Clear Channel. When the Golden Ticket talk started, Opie mentioned that they were going to program another station - my guess is that Ron and Fez will move over to 152 - and O&A can build more Golden Ticket programming around them, freeing up 202 to be all O&A again, or to use to bring in another new show for testing.
That's my guess, for what it's worth.

Just speculation but I say they already have people in mind, just have to wait until contracts are up. Only an idiot plays his hand in business so they have to keep it under wraps.
Personally I work nights, and love how it's set up. I get my buddays and I get O and A. Then I usually listen to the first hour or 2 of the live show.
Wouldn't mind seeing Cowhead on 202. We love the Cowhead. Other than that, leave the rest to rot in radio purgatory.

By the sounds of the Cowhead audio in the trashing Farrell thread, a slot on 152 was offered to him already and he turned it down. He said he didn't want to be on that channel(can't blame him) and that the money was lower than commercial.
152 really sucks they need to clean house before anyone with any talent will go there(unless they overpay)

02-21-2006, 11:52 AM
Yeah, it sounds like Cowhead didn't like the cheap offer and didn't want to be on 152, so I guess that's when XM went with "Left Jab" instead. I haven't heard BJ Shea or Brother Wease, but I do want Cowhead and Lazlow eventually. Lazlow once a week on Sunday nights would be great to hear.

i think the future for o&a does involve taking over 152 although it would make more sense to make the chanel 201 or 203. it also makes more sense to keep live r&f where they are and put the 11am replay on 152. the two shows are the perfect compliment to eachother and i really hope when all is said and done we get another r&f replay at a more listenable time. lazlow is the only dude im interested in hearing besides the current programming, but if its not fucking up 202 i guess it doesnt really matter where you stick any other show. and noone should ever use the phrase 'golden ticket' ever again, opie created a monster, made us sick of the monster, got sick of the monster, and has since been trying to kill the monster.

I wish they did a replay at 11am EST as here on the west coast I get in my car at 7:10am and only catch the end of the show and I am a bit out of the loop and don't get the jokes of the day.....
I go into work toss on my head phones and stream Ron and Fez over teh internet and usually catch O&A on teh way home from work.... but it would be nice if O&A did a replay at 11am and Ron and Fez were on around lunch but I think if they were on a different channel I wouldn't listen to them as much.

I'd like the line-up to be:
6-11 - O&A
11-3 - Ron & Fez
3-7 - O&A replay
7-11 - PHIL HENDRIE
11-3 - Ron and Fez Replay
3-6 - Whatever...

For most of us with college and jobs thats so true. I just download the shows from Usenet if I miss them, no more waiting around for replays, I just throw it on my mp3 player and do my work while catching up on the show.

Phil Hendrie is original at his style of radio thats for sure. Making up the most fucked up shit and then people actually calling in to argue with his "fake" guests. The boy RC is the best character of his show. With national coverage on XM his show would get even more diverse idiotic callers and be even more entertainment I believe. His show isn't for all types though, you have to listen for a while and get an idea of the characters he makes up. It took me a while to start liking his show.

What about one channel for Live content. O&A, Ron & Fez Hopefully someday Lazlow. Then another station for replays so when it gets too gay in the show you can listen to a replay of the show that wasn't quiet as gay.

I can't see BJ's show working on a national level. His show is barely listenable here in Seattle.
Remember, Seattle was a big market for Lickass for a number of years ago and all BJ did was to try and do the same show. It hasn't gotten much better over the years. O&A got no ratings when they were syndicated here. Not saying Seattle has not taste, but.....
I know he is a friend of Opie's, but that doesn't mean he does good radio.

Earlier it was said that the intent might be to turn over 152 to O&A. Honestly, something does need to be done with that channel. Be it Ron and Fez moving there, or bringing on new talent. That channel is pretty much an abortion as it is.

I'm taken aback with the golden tickets discussion ... if O&A get to program 152 (give me one reason why they shouldn't) ... They could probably move Ron and Fez there for mornings, pick up Pugs and Kelly from ol' shitdick Russ Martin's station in Dallas to do afternoon drive, and get Phil Hendrie and Lazlow to close out the lineups on 152. Anything's possible at this point, but E-Lo is more than capable of making these decisions.

Could be the XM made offers, but the dollar amounts weren't enough for those two guys.
Lazlo hasn't been a guest on XM since he did the last XM Lazlow show, and has Patrice done a show on O&A FreeFm?
My personal opinion is that XM's budget for picking up guys like Lazlow & Patrice aren't exactly flush with bags full of cash, and after tossing Oprah the millions she's going to be getting I really don't see XM202 adding more shows like those of Lazlow & Patrice in the near future.

Maybe so, but more than a few hints or leaks have pointed to that R&F were supposed to follow O&A on FREE FM. Obviously, this didn't happen, and I think Ronnie is pissed about it. I think that is the "upgrade" they keep referring to that's on hold...

Ok heres what happened (is happening) Opra is fighting for Patrice's Black Philip show. She wants him in her line up and you can't blame her for wanting that strappin young thundercat. Opie and Anthony are being released from their contracts and completly moving to free fm. Norton will not be making the move with O and A. Norton is finaly get his own show on Take 5. Its going to be the Norton and Friends show that he has always wanted. XM is giving 202 to Tony Danza as part of a settlement dating back to late 2004.

honestly, with the cbs deal now a reality I doubt we will see the development of xm202 and a 2nd original talk content channel for quite some time and its unfortunate because a great radio talent like the lazlow show is just sitting out there in limbo. Atleast he's getting technofile money from xm.

It's actually quite obvious that the Golden Tickets were put on hold to to financial constarints on XM's part.
It also seems quite obvious that the R&F upgrade would be to afternoons, but because XM can't afford to add new talent to the channel, R&F have to stay in mid-days to keep the original content flowing without "dead air"....
To move R&F to afternoons, XM would have to hire another show to fill middays....
I personally don't think that the CBS deal, and the golden ticket deals are related....
O&A have said that XM "owns" the show, they have rights over the name and personalities, CBS can't add stations without XM's approval, and Super Agent Bob eatman can't add any more radio companies (i.e. Clear Channel, Citadel, ABC) without XM's approval...
I will sit here quietly and support both XM and the CBS deal, because it is good for the show....
Obviously CBS already has brought more recognition to the Show, and more (big name) guests...
I am sure that XM wants to bring more content to 202, and will do so, after they have settled the pending lawsuits, and investigations...
At that time R&F will most likely move to afternoons (where they belong) and maybe Lazlo or Patrice would get their shows......
althougha few weeks ago, Elo mentioned that he offered one of the possible personalities a deal, but the personality wanted way more money than XM was offering, which Opie said was already way more than generous.....
Radioguy
06-27-2006, 09:06 AM
I still think the deal was getting R&F the same CBS deal O&A has. There may be something else, but I really think that's what's been put on hold.
