Wow, why does that sound sorta familiar? I used to get my ass teased mercilessly by my old man when I was a kid because I didn't like to fight. One day though, some douchebag kid pushed me, and I fell, and a transistor radio I had in my pocket (my prized possession at the time) broke. I went ape shit and destroyed that fucko, and it was in front of my house, so my old man saw it. He tried to bond with me after that. needless to say, I was like "yeah, okay. I'm heading out to be anywhere other than here, thank you very much!" :)

This should be a lesson to future-fathers. Concentrate on the mental abuse. They'll never be able to top you in that no matter what age. It's likely that you'll lose in sports at sometimes. But as long as you defeat your son mentally, he'll never be able to beat you in that because by the age he might be able to, he's already too warped and submissive to be able to successfully fight back. And if it's at the point where he's old and enfeebled, then where's the victory? If anything, it's yet another loss.

Going back just a bit...

I realized at 3rd grade I was smarter than my dad. No problem. He came up with better punishments. He had no problem with me getting into fights in school, just as long as I didn't start it and I finished it. Including the time in Jr. high I introduced the vice-principal to a wall. The defining day when we were sparring. After I broke one of his ribs and was about to finish him off, he caught me with a spinning backfist right on the jaw. I was out cold with my eyes open and still standing. After that point, he said he wouldn't do that again, he would just shoot me. I believed it.
