Agree with both, though Nasty is an extremely close second.
I'll spare the board my useless knowledge about the show(unless people really want to know it).

I used to be on an all hippy section diet. You know those bins with the beans, rice, wheat germ, vegatable protein, etc. That lasted about 1 month.

Fab Four? What about Alexei Sayle?
Little-known fun fact: The Young Ones was directly responsible for the destruction of MTV. Executives at MTV were looking for a little something different to put on after prime time, and they heard about this weird show in the UK that everyone was crazy about. And the best thing about it was that every episode had its own video in it from some hot British band, so MTV could easily put it on the air without looking like they were selling out. So they put it on the air, it almost immediately pulls the best ratings in the history of MTV, and MTV's executives start to think, "Wellll, maybe the occasional non-music show wouldn't hurt..."
What makes this all the more ironic is that the only reason The Young Ones had those "in-show videos" in the first place was because in the bureaucratic culture of the BBC, shows with musical guests were classified as "light entertainment" instead of as "sitcoms" and thus got bigger budgets. They wanted the extra money so they came up with a way to shove a band into every episode.
My favorite musical guest was, of course, Ken Bishop's Nice Twelve.

Loved this show, my older brother taped all the shows off of mtv back in the late 80's.
I've heard the guys behind The Young Ones, did a show on the BBC in the early 80's or late 70's that was a spoof documentary about a metal band called "Bad News" and supposedly Rob Reiner ripped this off for "Spinal Tap" but I've never been able to figure out which was filmed first, does anyone know?

Yup, I own the bad news tape. Pretty funny stuff. Not quite as good as the show, but the personalities are pretty much the same
Fav musical guests-Motorhead, The Damned, Madness(on twice!), and Alexi doing Dr. Marten's Boots.

my favorite was the one where the go on some game show.
Madness doing "House of Fun" then threatening to break Rick's face for requesting Cliff Richard was good.
and i've recycled Neil's line about "Sleep gives you cancer man, everyone knows that!" too many times...

I watched it on comedy central when it was on. I also was doing research and found there is a "Young Ones" video game that came out for Commedor 64.
also if you go to youtube.com and look for the young ones, you can find some cool clips from the show.
