FOX edits the word RETARDED

I was watching The Loop...and in it the main character is describing his brother and says "...Looks like a retarded eagle"

Except they bleeped out RETARDED! Holy shit...

I saw that last night as well, I had to rewind it just to make sure! If they actually bleeped "retard" I am gonna be pissed, but I've seen where other shows have bleeped certain words that are even less bleepable than "retard", just because it "makes it sound funnier" apparently...

Do not think this is the first time someone has censored the word "Retarded". There a Black Eyed Peas song that was released a long time called "Lets Get It Started", orginally it was "Lets Get Retarded", however, radio stations refused to play it because of the word "Retard" may offend, well, the retarded (I am sure they are coherent enough to understand :icon_roll ). This word is taboo in radio and television, thats nothing new.

It was def the word retarded, I d/l'd it to check. As far as the balck eyed peas song goes I had no idea about that (not my genre) I thought that was a parody song that the boys played when lady di and marian came in!

The NBA on TNT wanted to adopt the song for their preseason promos, but didnt want to use the word retareded- and the commericals started airing during the NFL Draft in 2004.... and it was a hit on the commercials, so regular radio and the black eyed peas decided to release the edited version as a single....

there was never the intention to edit the song, or to release it as a single- but the NBA wanted to use it, so they agreed.
