I'd say ok almost the whole way through except with turning Angle heel. Granted, they don't have a class A heel now with Orton getting the suspension boot, but I think it would be easier to have Lashley as the heel than try and turn Angle heel and still have people cheering for him.
I wish they'd just bring this pay per view back full force.. have it be a dual brand thing, Raw stars versus Smackdown stars.. just put in the new guys, I mean what good will it do Kurt angle to win King of the Ring again past character development? Meh.. it'll give us some good matches so I can't bitch to hard, but I just don't really see the point of dragging out the tourney idea in the way again..
I wonder what they're going to do with Mysterio...with all these guys in the KOTR tournament, and Orton out, what do they do with him over the next couple months.
The only guys that could conceivably fight him are Undertaker and JBL. Taker just got plunged into a feud with Giant Gonzalez #2 last night, and JBL has the U.S. Title and is still messing around with Benoit.
Maybe Batista is coming back to take him on?

Is this years KOTR going to be a PPV, or will it just take place on SmackDown?

It looks to me like it's going to take place on Smackdown. Smackdown's next PPV isn't for something like 7 weeks so this is probably how they'll keep it interesting while they're killing time.
Maybe the finals would take place at Judgment Day, but the problem with that is that Angle's almost a lock to be in the KOTR finals, as well as a lock to fight Mysterio in the main event at JD, so it'll probably all take place on the TV show.
Angle advances

If they do one match a week, and it looks like they will, the finals will take place at Judgment Day.
I've got to change my picks a little, though. I think Lashley loses to Mark Henry. Booker T. will get his revenge on Lashley there.
Booker also will lose to Matt Hardy.
Angle beats Hardy
Benoit beats Mark Henry
Angle vs. Benoit in the finals.
That leaves the question of who fights Rey for the title. I think it'll either be JBL, or they'll work some angle, seeing how Chavo "quit," where Chavo spits on Eddie's legacy and then attacks Mysterio setting up a match. JBL seems more likely to me, though. I can't see Chavo ever agreeing to do that.
So Judgment Day could look like:
World Title:
Rey Mysterio vs. JBL
King of the Ring Finals:
Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit
Tag Team Titles:
MNM vs. London & Kendrick
Booker T. vs. Lashley
Undertaker vs. The Great Khali :icon_eek:
and maybe they'll add a Cruiserweight title match if Helms is back from injury. Also, they'll probably work Burchill in, since they're working the "Regal stays in drag till Burchill loses" angle.
Lashley advances:

It really looks like they're going to work the Booker T/Lashley finals. In addition to Lashley advancing, they worked an angle where Mark Henry supposedly broke Kurt Angle's ribs when he interfered in the Angle/Mysterio title match this week.
They'll probably have Angle forfeit his next round match, or have him wrestle Booker with the taped up ribs and have Henry cost him that match too.
It looks like now the JD card could be:
-Rey vs. JBL (World Title)
-Angle vs. Henry
-MNM vs. London & Kendrick (Tag Titles)
-Super Crazy vs. Helms (Cruiserweight Title)
-Lashley vs. Booker (KOTR Finals)
The only question is whether they shoot their load on the Undertaker/Great Khali feud early, or feed someone to Khali (like Matt Hardy) at the PPV and save the Undertaker match for a later time. I also wonder how they'll work in guys like Benoit, Finlay, Burchill, and Regal, if at all. It sucks how far Benoit's fallen down the card these days.

Kurt Angle is out with an injury so Booker T has already moved on.
