I guess some people played with Google Earth a little too much and found some cool things such as airplanes in flight and a family of seals.

that is pretty cool. I have seen the airplane in flight thing back on the old (late 90's) Terrasever site, but never any live animals.

This photo, provided by Maxim magazine --who got it from Google Earth, shows a recreation of a Maxim magazine cover, in the desert outside Primm, Nev.,near the California state line, which celebrates the magazine's 100-issue milestone . Air travelers flying over southern Nevada this week, got a look at a bikini-clad Eva Longoria, star of ABC's 'Desperate Housewives,' on the 75-by-110-foot display. (AP Photo/Google Earth-Maxim) .

It's actually on a naval base in San Diego - perhaps a tribute to bush-nazi and his heroes. I hear it was built to commorate 9/11.
It really is on a naval base though.

I am so tired of people comparing Bush to the Nazi's/Hitler.
Bush is not Hitler. For one thing, Hitler was a decorated frontline combat veteran. Also in the election that brought him to power in 1933, Hitler and his party got more votes than the other candidates.

I wondered how you did that, then I realized it was easy to find when I saw what was very close to those coordinates.
Found this in aboot 5 minutes:
33°38'53.28"N by 84°23'29.35"W
and zoom in.

Goddamn, look at all the planes in the air around that airport! Holy crap... seems like there's hardly any space between 'em.

I dont have the time to look this up, but it would be pretty interesting to find a sports arena during a game

I'm wondering how long the exposure time was in those photos or how long in between photos. If the satellite pauses for a few seconds in between shots, that could be multiple images of the same plane.

This does seem like a potentially cool thread and although posts shouldn't have the coordinates on the bottom they should stay there for verifying purposes…just go by the honor system and no cheating.
I have a few cool ideas on what to list but I’ll have to do it at home on my Super Computer not this crappy 4 year old museum piece I use at work.
BTW…I tried to get the Overlook Hotel in Colorado but that’s one of those areas that aren’t clearly visible.
Google Earth needs to be....Corrrected.

Could this be what I think it is?
41°08' 17.81" N 29°04' 03.13" E
My knowledge of those things isn't what it should be. The colors look right for one (vagueness intentional...).

Keeping with the ship theme:

the one on top is the USS George Washington. I don't know what the one on the bottom is. Looks like they were putting new non skid on the flight deck and had not re-painted the hull number yet

I'm thinking yer right. That was as a gimmie, i just thought it was a cool pic. It would have been even better if one of those two carriers was my old ship.
