Here's the one that really drives me up the fuckin' wall. APPLEBEE'S! Their most recent one is two jackasses singing their food-enhanced rendition of the "Gilligan's Island" theme while they're trying to push their new shrimp plates.

But for the past few years, all of their promotions have used a popular song with all of the lyrics pertaining to their food. Anyone else notice these hacks?

Personally, I think Madison Avenue and all of the ad execs around the country are complete tools. Nevermind the discussion of the songs' copyright owners who sell out to these products. What bothers me is that these ass wipes have no imagination whatsoever and are only taking once popular songs and either incorporating them as-is or rewriting them to fit their commercials. Whatever happened to imagination and the art of jingle writing? Pardon me for going off on a rant here but it pains me to hear these commercials ad nauseum when they are primary sponsors for a program or event.

For a while, Chevy used Bob Seger's "Like a Rock" for their pick up trucks. It took a while but Cadillac seemed to be the next one in line using Led Zeppelin for their new models. Now, we can't find 1 commercial in 50 that uses an original jingle. The only one that I can even recall is the latest one for Jell-o pudding. It may be corny but it's catchy and gets my attention. The rest of tese products can all fuck themselves....

I DESPISE that commercial, Texas. Good choice. The most annoying, god-awful commercial in recent memory. I can't stand it.

A lot of companies have used that strategy of changing the lyrics to songs to fit their product. I remember a few years ago when they'd play the "Chips Ahoy! A thousand chips delicious!" song in that commercial constantly, adding words to "Sing Sing Sing"

I didn't mind Molsons using Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" a few years back in a commercial. One of my favorite songs with my absolute favorite beer.
As far as EMF's "Unbelievable" being used as "crumbelievable" who gives a fuck? That fucking song is gay anyway.
