PURCELL, Okla. -- Authorities investigating the death of a 10-year-old girl in Purcell, Okla., said Saturday that the body had deep saw marks on the neck and that the alleged killer had cannibalism in mind.

They say 26-year-old Kevin Ray Underwood had planned to dismember Jamie Rose Bolin and eat the flesh.

Underwood is under arrest, and authorities said they plan to charge him with murder and seek the death penalty.

Bolin's body was found in a closet in Underwood's apartment. Investigators said they think he suffocated the girl and sexually assaulted her after she was dead.

Officials are calling it a "horrific crime." They have released many details about their investigation, but they haven't said whether Underwood has confessed. Authorities said he drew their attention when he "just wasn't acting right" at a vehicle checkpoint set up near the girl's home.

My wife grew up near that town and I've been around there enough to know that that guy is lucky the cops got him before the locals did. He's probably safer sitting in the can than out on the street. A little "hillbilly justice" never hurt anybody!
