SPOILERS

Aaron Eckhart played a great asshole who was still funny enough to create some sympathy, kind of similar to his character from "In the Company of Men". Whereas that movie finished itself with the kind of down-beat ending that felt appropriate, "Thank you for Smoking" tries to have it both ways by having him prove himself a success by the end of the film but moving on to another company, thereby abandoning his support for cigs.

That he moved on to fucking "cell phones not causing brain cancer" instead of something even more offensive or evil was somewhat disapointing.

But Eckhart's character and his conversations with the MOD Squad are worth seeing the film on their own, as they talk about the kind of wacky, rationalizing shit that I was able to appreciate.

The Cellphone part is clutch. Its something everyone can relate to and something everyone is talking or thinking about. I think it fit the movie perfectly.
