He's gone far enough where if he's booted tomorrow he's in a band the next day doing the music he wants to do. (Well, after the faggotty Idol tour, I suppose.)

It looks like Taylor's going to win this thing going away. Like Chris, I think his career would benefit far more from not winning. His career path is so clear to me - Barry Manillow and Rod Stewart are making a fortune singing 40's and 50's songs. Taylor could put out a similar CD of 60's and 70's standards and sell a million albums, but that's not what's expected of the Idol winner. If he wins, he'll be under immense pressure to record original material, which is destined to fail unless he does throwback music like Wolfmother is doing. (Not as hard obviously, but he's got to make a concerted effort to bring in a 70's vibe like they did.)

Katherine I'm afraid is done. Even if she survives tonight, she has gotten worse over the past several weeks to the point where she can no longer win. Again I think the pressure is getting to her. I don't really know what her short-term future holds, although I think she'll eventually land on Broadway. Her looks and goofy facial expressions will be well suited there.

That leaves Elliott. His voice is very shaky sometimes, but he suddenly has emerged as the best finalist for what this is intended to be - The search for America's next Pop Superstar. Even though he's not the best singer, he's got the best chance of having a successful pop career. He's handled the modern stuff the best out of the 4, and can belt it out too if he needs to.
