There it is...I know I saw at least one person asking for it. I believe it's the entire promo, although there was a segment before this where Joey called Lawler a hack and slapped him, and then Lawler shoved him down.

It was all a work. Yhey are setting up the ECW VS WWE thing. It was set for Joey to announce the new ECW show and Jim Ross to return to Raw. It souded real and I bet he meant some of it but it was a work.

This particular incident is a work. I'm not sure whether Jerry really likes or hates ECW. They've used him in the anti-ECW role before when they did the WWF/ECW crossover in 1997 and Lawler ended up wrestling Tommy Dreamer at an ECW PPV.

Lawyer is the prototypical heel announcer. He's never changed. He cheers for the bad guy, and when they really need a heel to be over, the king will say something like, "even I can't agree with that". He's completely stale.

I thought Lawler and Styles were a great combo to have, and the fed off of each other well, at least when the Coach wasn't cockblocking the two

Yeah, Lawler's mellowed over the last couple years as far as his heel persona goes, and especially since Coach was added to the booth (although it looks like Coach is completely out now, and is going to take an on-screen character role).

Lawler's in last place among color commentators as far as I'm concerned. Tazz is the best, because he actually concentrates on the matches and is funny without the awful Lawler on-liners. And Don West is second...simply because he's Don West (which makes him a gem mint 10 in my book).

King needs to get the boot. It's time to give someone else a chance to fill that role.

I watched the promo on Tivo a few times since Monday. I really hope some of the wrestlers were taking notes on how to do a promo. He was brilliant.

It was funny when it was over it looked like Lawler wanted to say something on the arena mic but didn't. He was probably going to say his stupid Gutter line he did when he put his headphones on.. I guess he realized it wasn't about him, so waited for his headphones. He should have just left well enough alone and not said anything. That promo didn't need to end with a 50 year old cliche'.

Just saw the promo last night. I was definitely impressed and I do agree that even though it was work, I do believe there was some amount of truth to what Joey was saying. You could see the disgust in his eyes when he had do that stupid thing with the spirit squad. I will say this, with the return of ECW and the possible renioun of DX, my interest in wrestling is starting to return and I might I have to start recording Raw again.
