Me and a buddy went up to New York for a visit to China Town (we laughed the whole time, buts thats for another thread). Before we left we decided to go to Paesano's which was only a few blocks away.
I almost honestly missed it, kinda tucked in there. They gladly gave us a glass of wine for being O and A fans. The service was by far the best I have gotten anywhere, well mannered and always seemed to know when you needed them.
The food was phenominal. It wasn't the typical fake-italian bullshit they try to slip you in Jersey. I was so satisfied with the whole experience I left a massive tip.
If your in the city give Joey P your money. Great food and they give you lots of it.
Just have to give some props to the not so famous guy in the boys friend list. Joey runs a nice place.:clap::clap::clap:
I will have to check it when I am in New York this weekend. You make it sound almost too good.

We've gone there when we visit NYC. Good food but not fast food.
Service is good but they do take their time. Don't go there if you
are in a hurry. Plan to stay awhile and relax and enjoy.

if you want fast food, there are plenty of Burger Kings and McDonald's uptown. the place is definitely a "sit and have a nice dinner" kind of place. it felt almost surreal going there for the first time after hearing O&A talk about so many times over the years (not to mention that i was being accompanied by about a dozen Pests whom i had met in person for the first time that day) and you almost expect to see Michael Corleone walk in from the back with a gun, but i really enjoyed the whole experience there. and of course, the free glass of wine was great, very fragrant. the aroma stayed with me long after i left. very enjoyable.

Youre right about that, but Paesano's is really good, I been to a bunch of places in Little Italy and Paesano's I think was the best I been to.
Arthur Ave. is probably better, but who wants to go into the Bronx?

Nah, I left the restaurant, grew a 5 o' clock shadow, grabbed my balls while I talked to people and quoted Sopranos as if it was the bible.:icon_lol:
Heh, just reminded me of what my old rascist Sicilian grandmother used to cook. Ahh the jokes I learned from her.:)

Old racist Italians are the funniest. Everytime I ask my mother or grandmother to do anything for me I get, "What am I three shades darker than you?" or "What am I the house nig-er?"

I stopped down at the restaurant once last year to see what all the hoopla was about. I have to say it was good food, fairly reasonably priced. I did get the free glass of wine for mentioning the O&A pogram.
Notice I said good food, not great. I mean, perhaps there are better things on the menu, but the lasagna I had was pretty much the same thing you could have gotten from half a dozen other restaurants on the same street. (It is in the heart of Little Italy).
Nothing against Joey, he runs a fine establishment, but other than being a friend of the show I can't see what the big deal is. New York is filled with good Italian restaurants. A lot of them surpass this one and a lot are worse.

i've eaten there a few times now i have to agree food is kick ass. and service is just as good just dont have to pee while u are there. maybe the smallest bathroom i have ever seen. lets just say pat or big a would have to be shoe horned in there. and i have never been able to finish every thing we orderd. we like our red wine and the cheaper house wine holy shit bottles every time we go!!
long story !
about 4 years ago when the wife and i were dating we went there on the 4th. it was the hottest day recorded that year and maybe in history. we walked from the wtc site to south street sea port to china town to little italy. by the time we hit china town the wifes face was getting really red. over heating the poor girl was cooking up. itold her its just a few blocks from here. as we get in paesanos she almost passes out, eyes rolled back was funny. well the boys in paesanos got her ice cold towles for her head. and cranked up the ac in the place . the took care of us big time. so in short paesanos can save lives too. now thinking back maybe we shoulda ate some place else, with really bad service! :icon_lol:

If I could make a shameless plug here, All Things Sicilian (http://www.allthingssicilian.com) has truly authentic stuff imported directly from Sicily. Some of it can't be found anywhere else in the USA. Most of the stuff comes from family farms and shops.
The pistachio nut cream won an award at the 2005 North American Specialty Foods show. Some of the olive oil has won awards for the best in Italy and it is so pure that it is produced only from the weight of the other olives above (no hands or machines touch it).
Experience the old-country here at home.

Friends of the show: Yes!
Best resturant in Little Italy: Probably not.
If you're in from out of town and want a good meal you can't go wrong at Paesano's...especially for the price. If you're local...you probably already have your own favorite...like me.
Either way...you have to sing the song while you are walking through the district regardless of where you end up eating!
I don't even know the name of the place me and my chick always go to, but after years of eating in Lil' Italy at various places...we keep returning to the same place. I suck for not knowing the name...cause I would love to plug the place!
I'm going this weekend...I will check back with the name.

Waiting till the next time I go back to form an opinion, first experience wasn't the best but I am giving them the benefit of the doubt. I worked at an Italian restaurant during college and high school so I am very critical.

As a long time listener, I finally went down to Paseano's the other night. My friends and I went down there for a bachelor dinner. Everything I ever heard about the place was dead on. The fried ravoloi, it was definitely worth the wait and the buzz I heard about it. The portions were huge and chick parm I had, probably the best I have had in a long time. My friends were impressed and I got huge props for making the selection.

Sure ruined the Italian feeling as I walked out the restaurant to high squeaky nasal sounding gibberish, men with the standard issue Moe Howard haircut and the utter lack of ass or tits on the broads.
I'm happy as long as they keep the horrid fucking anime shops out of the Italian neighborhoods. Ughh the people those stores attract...
