And J-Dubs was so much better than East Side Dave on the air (if you haven't heard J-Dubs on Ron And Fez, find the files on ronfez.net. He was certainly the closest thing to a real third mic the have had), and Staples was both a better foil for Ron than Dave is and did more (or at least was credited for doing more) behind the scenes screening calls and such.

At least Dave will enjoy his summer off in that "resort town" of Spring Lake.

the show has run smoothly and has sounded like a million bucks lately. he needs to get better but he's 10 times the producer harry was (who I didn't hate, just felt like he was unprepared for the job.) East Side Dave has a great personality for the show, quite the opposite of Ron and Fez's subtle humor. he's a great foil for the holy trinity of Ron, Fez and Earl.

I have said this on a previous thread but there are days when he is great and days when I want to drag his face against pavement. So for me the jury is still out on wether or not to like him. However I see him being there for the long haul, he seems pretty close to R&F so I doubt he would be leaving any time soon

I've listened ever since R&F's show was simulcast from NEW to WJFK in DC and I can honestly say the current lineup of Fez, Ron, Earl and Dave (or as I call them, FRED) is the the best ever.

People hate Dave but who says that's a bad thing? I think he's extremely entertaining on the air. I don't know much about the production end. I do recall Ron ALWAYS yelling at Harry Elvis for not getting things done. I don't hear that on the air now so Earl and Dave seem to be holding that end down. The show has been great lately and I attribute much of that to East Side Dave.

I honestly don't know what's happening but it honestly seems as if Dave is starting to crack. Ron is beginning to tire of his antics so he seems desperate to up the ante but he's neither smart nor funny enough to pull it off and everytime he starts something, he realizes he's lost the argument so he nervous laughs and presses on awkwardly hoping it will come around to his favor.

He thought his drinking antics would make him beloved but instead it just made him more hated because he was abusing the listeners and the interns.

"Salt cures poison," thought everyone would get a laugh, everyone thought he was a moron so he just kept repeating his point saying scientists were wrong.

Listen to the e-mail bit. You knew he was doing it to sell Earl down the river and hoped everyone would laugh at his failure but a) it was a privacy issue and b) Earl wasn’t really doing anything wrong or bad. So then he changed his plans to “I want to help Earl because I care about him” which pissed me off like you wouldn’t believe.

He'll keep trying to make a bigger splash but he'll continue to fail. It will escalate more and more quickly and I really do think he will be out by the end of the year.

People disliked Harry because he was a pompous, boring tool. That's a huge difference than being disliked because you're an awful, annoying, despicable person. He's one of those guys who thinks everything he says is gold and expects people to laugh at everything he does; he's the permanent frat boy and it will kill him in the end.

It's easy. just relax and let it happen.

One or maybe two days per week he was tolerable in one hour bites but the daily 2+ hour Dave fests is far too much. if he knew when to keep his mouth shut and not feel the need to comment on EVERY SINGLE SUBJECT that comes up no matter what there wouldn't be this negativity IMO.

And sorry, I disagree with Ronnie, the anti-Dave sentiments shouldn't be lumped in with the forum twits who are constantly starting shit over the O&A show and the rest of the negativity thats seeping in around the boards. Dave changes the entire subtle cleverness of R&F's vibe and thats what I think is the issue. Find a 3rd mike that isn't a blithering asshole and the show will be fine.
