Signature Pictures
Signature Pictures can not be larger than 500 pixels by 150 pixels in size. What this means is, your sig pic can be 200x300, 300x200, or something along those lines. If your sig pic is 400x450, it's way too big. Additionally, multiple sig pics must also not exceed the total size listed above. For example, if you have 2 or more sig pics, the total size can not exceed 500px by 150px.

If your sig pic is too big, please reduce it in size. A moderator may edit it out of your signature and remind you to reduce it we find one that is too large.

Please limit your signature to one (1) picture and 4 lines or less of text. Sig pics and quotes are out hand. When viewing the site in a window, many single posts take up the entire browser window and then some even though they only contain a single line of text as a post.

Also, big file size in your sig pic/animation cause the thread to jump around while others are reading it, since they take longer to load. Please limit your file size. Imagine that everyone that's viewing it is on a dial-up and has to wait for 20 posts with sigs to load before they can read a page of a thread.

I won't get into specifics of file size or dimensions, just use your best judgement. But, having 9 pictures in your sig isn't helping anyone.

For the love of God, choose one picture for your sig and be happy with it. If you need to advertise something just change your sig every couple of days so everyone gets to see the different ads/funnies.

Again, this is just my plea as a member, this is not a directive.

Kid is correct, sigs have gotten too large lately. Please try to downsize
what you have if you can. We may have to do it for you if they are
too big when the show finally figures out the site plug thing with CBS

I support this suggestion. Even though I'm on a fast connection and loading all your zany sigs isn't a problem, the space they sometimes take up is ridiculous.

In an unrelated, but similar plea I would also suggest to mods to cut down on the amount of stickies/announcements in the O&A forum, sometimes they take up an entire page, and they're usually outdated.. At least make it in it's own box with a collapse button, like all of the things on the front page.

Agreed. There have been some things left there too long.
If it gets no posts in over a week or goes past a deadline,
it should be unstickied but that doesn't always happen.

While I find the three quote sig bit to be fun and amusing, I agree that the Quote Boxes did take up too much space. I suppose those of us that were using it were so giddy in our enthusiasm for the bit that we lost sight of what's really important.

Actually, I'm on cable so it's not the speed that bothers me. It's the fact that at 1600 x 1200 I can only see one post at a time with the length of some people's sigs.

And yes, I could turn off sigs. But I don't want to. Some of them are very funny and I don't want to have that ruined for me because people don't want to follow common sense etiquette. Let alone the rules.

it will mean more traffic. When that happens, we will need to get
the sig pics way lower in size. If you could do it now, that would

What we are looking for is a pic that is 500 pixels total when length & width are added together. If it's 200 pixels wide, then it shouldn't be over 300
pixels high. It's ok if some text is added to it, but some of the text is also getting way too much. As kid africa pointed out, some sigs are so busy that they end up taking up a whole page when added to a post. We really need to downsize some of them.
We don't want to get to the point that some boards have come to and just eliminate them altogether because we really do like the work
that some folks have put into them.
