Ok people

Kyle Petty Nascar driver has pledged his winnings in the allstar race to the victory junction camp which is a camp for terminally ill children. Kyle needs our vote to insure that he makes it into the allstar race on Saturday, and the camp can continue to grow.

http://www.votekylepetty.com

It really is a great cause. I was down in Level Cross / Randleman two years ago right before the camp opened. Very impressive place. Adam would be proud.

The Victory Junction Camp is a great cause and Kyle really puts
everything he has into it. We have 2 plates that PA offers for cars
that send the proceeds of the sale of them to the camp.
Plate 1 (http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/graphics/nascar/dale_earnhardt.jpg)
Plate 2 (http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/graphics/nascar/richard_petty.jpg)
We took a pic of the Petty plate on our car and mailed it to a friend
of ours that knows Richard and he autographed it for us. The pic now
hangs on the wall in my spare room along with my other Nascar memorabelia.
I've been voting for Kyle as often as I can. I hope he wins.

Yeah you do. Is that a problem?

Am I misreading this, or is Kyle Petty using the hook of terminally ill children in order to get enough votes to allow him to race?

Not that I have a problem with that; I just don't see the point of coming up with a sick joke when he's already come up with the best one of all. :action-sm

PS: Spot the problem with this list on that page:

Michael Waltrip
Bobby LaBonte
Mark Martin
Tony Stewart
Carl Edwards
Ryan Seacrest

He's not making a dime off the race if he's giving all the proceeds to the camp, which he paid for largely out of pocket and with donations (myself included).

And the B is supposed to be lowercase. :icon_mrgr

I got hooked up with the charity through a friend. After one visit to the camp I knew there was a lot that could be done. I am still a student so i am trying to help anyway I can, so I just want to encourage people to vote.

I am a person that 9 times out of ten brings nothing to the table.

But in this situation I just wanted to ensure that as many people voted as possible, since I cant donate any money I thought we could at least help get him into the race.

Voted. Kyle does great stuff with the camp. I also passed the info on in the Nascar thread on another board that I go to.

Not only will he donate all of his proceeds to the camp, but his sponsors will also donate at least $250K to the camp if he gets into the race.

My sister used to work for Coca Cola directly with the drivers of the Coca Cola racing team. In her opinion, Kyle Petty is the best person driving in NASCAR. She told me that he never misses the opportunity to do something nice for someone else when there is no expectation that he even would know that person, much less care enough to go out of his way to do something nice for them.

That's the primary reason that Coca Cola continues to sponsor him regardless of the fact that he hasn't won a race in about 10 years.
