I'm getting a new phone this week and wondering opinions on this phone. I'm sticking with verizon as noone else has good coverage up by me and kinda have it narrowed down between the LG VX8100 or the Motorola E815. I'm leaning towards the E815 because I've heard alot of good things about the sound quality with the earpiece and speakerphone when the phone is shut. Also the E815 can supposidly be hacked to get the full bluetooth capabilities, but I still have to search some more with that. Anyone have one or the other? No sure which one I should pick up.

I tend to stick with LG phones. It's just a personal preference of mine.

Go to www.CNET.com

I'm sure you're savvy enough to find the info you want.

It's a cool site for stuff like this.

If I was stuck with Verizon, It would get the LG the V. It looks like it is available in your area for 150.

I'd go with the Razr but here's a comparison from phonescoop.com

LG VX8100 vs. Motorola E815 (http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/compare.php?id%5B%5D=665&id%5B%5D=663)

Thanks for the help, I'll have to check out that LG the V one. I was thinking about a razor but everyone I know with them has had problems with the buttons on them, and one person had some issues with the phone taking its sweet time to do anything at all.

Fuck the Razr...it's a POS. My friend is 5' and maybe 110lbs and it broke when she sat with it in her back pocket.

The RAZR is the worst phone ever. I had one and dust acutally got under the screen. It fucked up the whole screen to the point where I could not see the screen anymore. Then 2 days later, the '4' button stopped working. Piece of shit Motorola.

I'll have to see them "in store" but it looks like I'll be going the way of the E815.
The 8100 seemed ok but alot of reviews mentioned mediocre reception and battery life.
The LG the V (9800) seemed nice but some of the turnoffs were having to have it open for speakerphone, bad protective cases, no MP3's as ringtones (probabaly can be hacked) and the lens is left wide open on the camera phone.

The E815 has complaints too but not nearly as many as the 2 LG phones. I'll be upgrading from my crappy LG VX6000 which can barely hold a charge anymore, granted dropping it a few times didn't help. Maybe I'll be swayed when I get to the store but its looking like the E815 for me. Thanks for the help guys, still have till the weekend to research though so if anyones got something better let me know. zipcode is 12590 for phone availability, I've noticed its kinda limited...

I just wanted to say the E815 is FUCKING FANTASTIC. I've had it a week, I've done the hacks for bluetooth transfers, I have a 1gb transflash 1/2 filled with south park eps, porn, and orgazmo. Nifty part was that I was able to delete the retarded stock ringtones and photos and replaced them with a bunch of random pics and a ton of O&A rintones. Excellent phone for whoever is looking for one. Also, so far 0 dropped calls and great reception where my vx6000 would drop nearly 1 every other day and I couldn't get reception in my living room. I'm a happy boy.:icon_cool
EDIT: The converted vids are great quality too.

The wife and I each just picked up the e815 Saturday. Very nice phone. Would like to learn how to customize a bit. Getting rid of the "Verizon Wireless" and all the stupid-ass stock pictures.

Just signed up for Mikecp421's forum. Looks like a good place for resources.

Switched to Verizon said FU to Sprint.
