My War with Pests

I mean real pests. Specifically, silverfish.


Some of you read my FU thread in which I explain my problem. Others of you might be my friend on MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/shootermcgvn) and have read my silly blogs about my war with the creepy crawlies that scurry about my home. Well, my problem has gotten worse. The Exterminator comes next week to rid my house of these bastards, but I don't know if I can hold them off until then. Tonight I had a major battle with the fuckers, and here are some pictures of what I had to deal with.

I found this one in my BED. That's right, had I not been paying attention, this little bastard would have scurried his way right up into my asshole while I'm sleeping.

Silverfish? Nothing.

In fact their real name is the "reclusive silverfish." Which means they just sit around and do nothing but eat paper and clothing.

Thankfully i don't have a problem where I live now, but I had crazy insane sized insects in my apartment in Texas. Everything's bigger in texas, even the bugs.


Best pest control: never kill spiders with poisons. They fucking eat EVERYTHING and will rarely bother people. If they creep you out indoors, smash them. Poison will kill spiders inside and outside your home and hence remove a natural predator for the rest of the insects in your neighborhood.

You could also get some bats in your attic...they eat something like 5x their bodyweight in insects DAILY.

Shooter, I think your pics are Sliverfish, but commish13's is a house centipede.

Nasty looking fucks, but they eat sliverfish. I had these in one apartment I lived in. First time I saw one I nearly hit the ceiling, 1-1/2" long crawling up the wall.

Have you tried using a room defogger, sometimes referred to as a bug bomb?

You set it off, it fogs the room or rooms for an hour, you leave while it's doing it's work, come back home and find many many dead bugs.

Last year we were dealing with earwigs. I wiped them out with a heavy Spectracide treatment of the lawn and by spraying around all doors/windows, etc with Ortho Home Defense. Haven't seen one since. This year it was stinkbugs. Same routine... they are now gone too.
