Marathon on SCI Fi this Sun (5/7)
The concept of this show is great--a team of part time ghost hunters try to dispprove "hauntings". Although the episodes when they don't find anything are rather boring, when they do catch shit they can't explain (audio, video, etc.) it's pretty scary stuff. The last episode (airs every wed night on sci fi at 9) they visited a supposedly haunted lighthouse. They recorded some pretty insane shit, including the voice of women screaming help me and a man at the top of the lighthouse peering down at them on the stairs. They are huge skeptics, so when they can't explain something, you can be sure it's pretty authentic.
It may be worth your time if you are bored on sunday and want to watch something a little different. It's not the greatest show and the production value is weak, but still kind of cool.

these shows give me the hhhhheebie jeebies.
Tonight at 9 on Scifi Ghost Hunters finale goes to the hotel that the Shining was based on. I'm home sick and watching repeats of the show which is mildly interesting but I'll watch just to check out the hotel.

That show was fun for about ten minutes. Watching a couple of plumbers playing at Ghostbusters... planning their "investigations" in their sooper sekrit headquarters- a camper trailer parked in one guy's backyard. They claim to be doing scientific investigations... with demonologists and dowsing rods. Yeah, cutting edge science... from the 18th century.
I got a chuckle out of the first few shows... a bunch of clown shoes knuckleheads jumping at shadows, and exclaiming, "Dude! Did you hear that?" everytime the wind blows. Worth a laugh, but the shit gets old quick.

Holy cow! I just watched the videos! That was amazing! Incredible! Fantastic!
But you want to know what's even more amazing? The low, low price I'll take for a honey of a bridge I'm selling in Brooklyn. :icon_roll
Seriously? That's all it takes to impress you? Two shadows and some unintelligible sounds?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwTWZSTztQs&search=Ghost%20Hunters that aint no shadow You're right, it ain't. It's a thermal reflection.
If you look at the early part of the recording you'll see a cabinet with a '2' lettered on the front. Under the thermal image view what you're seeing is the thermal reflection of the body heat of one of the plumbers reflecting off the cabinet (you know it's the cabinet because you can see the '2').
We used thermal imagers when I was in the Navy as part of our firefighting equipment... in order to see through smoke, and locate the source of a fire by looking for the hot spots. Thermal imagers let you see things that you can't see in the visible light spectrum... you can see through walls, you can see in absolute pitch black, you can see people's breath floating in the air, and you can see thermal reflections.
But hey... if you want to believe you're looking at a ghost. Knock yourself out... whatever tickles your pickle.
I would agree with you but the cabinet didn't reflect anything. It was matte. I just watched the whole episode and they tried twice to debunk it. Im not saying it was a ghost but it wasnt a reflection either.

Being home from work has some minor advantages. I been watching the marathon today of Ghost Hunters. Which is leading upto the season finale tonight at 9pm edt. On the SCIFI channel.
They will be in the real hotel from The Shinning "The Stanley Hotel". So far today this shows been pretty fucking good. A plumber by day, ghost hunter by night.
They do debunk alot of shit people send them to look into. But man when they catch something on cam or on mic kinda freaks you the fuck out.
Just moving into an old house, hearing the noises this mother fucker makes. I bet some of these really old house make a world of noise I would not want to hear.
I say check it out tonight. I hope the boys do I know they talked about the hotel many times before but this will be a lil different.

Im looking forward to it. I watched the marathon today too. Great show, so simple. Some of those moments were scary, do you think the voice was saying "We are coming"? I didnt get that but was freakedout none the less. Grant must be catatonic, nothing fazes him.

My DVR caught all of the episodes yesterday! A few of them I just saw from when they did the Sunday Marathon so I deleted a few. The show that creeped me out was when they say the full body apparition that looked like a soldier wearing the cap. You could see his face sort of move and everything! I can only watch that show in the daytime.

u saw that too. i didn't recall them even mentioning the hat he had on. what did u think the bright red (?) looking thing on his arm was? I know it wasn't red it was just a more intense heat spot.
The light house freaked me out, and the person trolling behind the pool table.

Yeah here have been a few really freaky things happen on there. Some of those things when they move remind me of some sort of creature/monster thing because they arn't very tall but they look stocky!
I'm not sure what the red thing was on arm but the number was clearly showing up through him on the thing he was standing in front of.
The lighthouse thing towards the end when they showed the figure looking down and then within seconds, it had gone up several floors and looked down again was scarey too! These two episodes were the only ones where I think they clearly caught something. I haven't watched last nights yet.

ok that now makes sense, yea it looked like a #. ok how about the one in the jail "one of the jails" the guy running towards them and then stopped. i can see a cape that opened and you see a leg. i was pissed cause i started thinking the entire show is a scam now.

i love this show and have caught every episode. one of my friends has a dvd of the first season and its pretty good. i dont live very far away from the crecent hotel where the soldier was caught on video. there are alot of people here in arkansas that have reported alot of strange stuff in that hotel. when they went to the psychics house, that shit was really crazy, i would like to know how you explain that on a thermal camera.
the thing i like about the show is if they wanted to find something in every episode they could fake it, but because some of the episodes are kinda boring it makes all the other shit that much more believeable.

Anyone like the new episodes? The Tombstone episode was pretty creepy with the oldie time music they caught on their tape recorders.
Also just a heads up...I believe they will be revisiting the Stanley Hotel live on Halloween night at 11 pm on SCI Fi. Should be interesting.

Made my niece and nephew (11 and 13) watch this last night. Really creeped them out when you heard the kid's voice asking "who's Jason".
The blanket moving up from the end of the bed last week was creepy as well.
Given that they typically investigate for many hours, how are they going to to a live show?

SCI FI'S 'GHOST HUNTERS' LIVE!
6-HOUR LIVE HALLOWEEN-NIGHT INVESTIGATION TO FEATURE UNPRECEDENTED VIEWER INTERACTIVITY
ECW'S CM Punk Joins 'Ghost Hunters Live'
Channel Brings You 'The Spirit' Of The Season With The 13 Days Of Halloween Marathon!
NEW YORK, NY--October 18, 2006--On Halloween night, SCI FI Channel will embark on a never-before-attempted, live, 6-hour 'Ghost Hunters' investigation! 'Ghost Hunters Live'* (11 PM-5 AM), an unprecedented television event, will wrap up SCI FI's 13 Days of Halloween marathon.
'GHOST HUNTERS LIVE'
October 31 (11 PM-5 AM)
Jason, Grant and the 'Ghost Hunters' team revisit the notoriously haunted Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado for a live, 6-hour, Halloween-night investigation! Stephen King took up residence at the Stanley while writing his best-selling novel The Shining and the spooky goings on at the hotel reportedly served as the inspiration for his best-selling tome. Viewers will be sent on the ultimate Halloween adventure, joining the 'Ghost Hunters' in real-time as they investigate the infamously haunted hotel. Also joining the investigation is a special guest from 'ECW' (Extreme Championship Wrestling); ghost hunting novice CM Punk!
The 'Ghost Hunters' originally investigated the Stanley in February 2006 and were met with a flurry of unexplainable occurrences including a hotel room that was a veritable hotbed of paranormal activity. Continually intrigued by the locale, our 'Ghost Hunters' will return to the Stanley for the show's first-ever live investigation, spending more time exploring some of the hotel's most notorious hot spots and enlisting viewers to help expand their search for spirits.
In addition to the live broadcast, viewers can interact with the 'Ghost Hunters' via polling, SMS messaging and SCIFI.COM, logging suggestions for rooms to investigate and screening an online video feed. One unprecedented interactive addition to the live telecast is the SCI FI.COM "panic button" which will enable viewers to email the control room and alert the 'Ghost Hunters' to any paranormal occurrences observed on the online feed.

MY DVR said there was not a Ghost Hunters show on Halloween so I missed it. I downloaded it from a newsgroup and watched the entire show though. I didn't see one unusual thing at all happen. I did hear the voices though when they were in the cave in the underground employee passageway. Since there was nothing but solid rock walls, the voices were real coming form inside the small cave.
Wednesday nights show is the reveal show so be sure to watch it. I doubt they caught much other than the voices in the cave.

There was also the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs directly in front of Steve, Punk and the other guy.
As far as some of the other things happening, I think some of the music they commented on hearing was probably coming from the staff in the kitchen, which was very loud when Jason walked up the stairs from the basement after they thought a door had opened on its own.
The other thing I kept thinking was that voices carry through heating ducts, so I thought that's what the basement voices might have been, but the playback was very loud and somewhat overdriven like it was right there.

The special was pretty disappointing. It really seemed that the voices they heard was staff screwing with them.
Ghost Hunters tonight at 9! I still love this show even though it is becoming cliche. They need the clips of someone saying " what the...??" before ending each section. I think they all walk around talking in sound bites but I still hope they find something good one day.

the recent ones have been pretty disappointing. i hate that irish guy who they talk up so much but every time something spooky goes down, he runs away. still a great show.
YES!!! He is soo annoying. What a wimp. "I dont feel comfortable" " I need to leave" You would think someone who was looking for ghosts would actually want to see them. Not him. He just wants to scare himself and wet his pants. Plus you can barely understand a third of what he says.

I'm still watchin it too. But it's definitely becoming a struggle. Not to mention Brian aka Dude Run is leaving after this season. It will be even harder to watch without his stupid ass running around. They better catch a lot of ghosts or at least generate them.

There is no way for me to prove this, but I think the skinny plumber is behind a lot of the evidence. Before sci-fi censored it, there were a lot of people doing frame captures of some of the evidence on the show's messageboards and a lot of it it looked really fishy.
On the locker thing, there was a posting by some engineer at FLIR Systems ( the company who make the infra red heat scanner they use). The guy did a really good job on how that could have been faked quite easily.
Entertaining show, but I don't believe most of what I have seen.
Oh, Im glad he's going. He comes across as so deperately trying to show everyone how much he knows and how good he is. I like Grant. Very low key, nothing loud, but he always says "what the frige?" and I wish he would say something new when he turns a corner...

Anyone catching the new season? I just got into this show...and whether they fake it or not...it still scares the crap outta me.
They're last investigation of a children's store in San Francisco was creepy. They didn't catch anything while at the store...but they had three EVP's of this gravely voice telling them to leave "us" alone.
I caught the lighthouse ghost...and that was beyond creepy. The fact that they're going into these rumored haunted sites in the middle of the night in total darkness is enough for me. I could not imagine putting myself in those situations.

I assume the new one just aired where they went to the small church with the footprint burned into the floor....? My TV guide didnt say if it was new or not. Good episode though. Of course I love when they find something they cant explain, but its also cool when they debunk things too.
The preview for the next episode says one of them gets seriously hurt and they show an ambulance. With Ghost Hunters and South Park, Wednesday might be the best night of TV.
