"Lucky Louie"
Sunday night at 10:30 on HBO
WHAT if you took "The Honeymooners," and placed it in 2006? Would it end up as ugly and slimy as "Lucky Louie," HBO's misguided answer to the comedy void left by "Sex and the City"? If the answer is yes, then the bigger question is, "How did we sink to this level?"
The show opens with Louie (Louis C.K), a low-paid muffler-installer talking to his unpleasant pre-school daughter, and you get the impression that it's a boring "Roseanne." You should be so lucky.
Instead, it's a darkly depressing "comedy" about what Louis C.K. thinks is close-to-real-life fun. Honey - if that's your reality, check me out now.
Louie and wife Kim (Pamela Adlon) live in a depressing "Honeymooners"-era apartment - with, yes, a dingy brown kitchen. I mean, really, who paints their kitchen brown?
When Kim wants another baby, she tries to force Louie to have sex, but Louie prefers to masturbate to magazine layouts of Jessica Simpson. Ewww.
There's also a lot of nasty-looking sex between Kim and Louie, and even a full-frontal nude shot of Louie running out of bed. Not a pretty sight.

Take your fucking claw away from your face, we know you do that to keep your FUCKING WATTLE from dangling in your picture, bitch. It's not sexy, you have the hairstyle of an extra on The Love Boat, and your skills as a critic are worthless. Essentially, you are as valuable as your body's minerals and water are on the open market.

I am firmly convinced that most "critics" just don't get "edgy" comedy.

I thought I was having a seizure when I logged on with this bright yellow color...good thing it is only "Jimmy Day" at the bag.
Did anyone actually think Linda Stasi would like this show based on her history of reviews and her feelings about the OnA show?

What's this cunt's email. I'll happily send out an angry email in honor of Jimmy day and the fact she seems like a real cunt.

sex in the city is a shitty show about stupid old whores for stupid whores and whore wannabes of all ages. oh, and the fags like it too.
I havent seen the whow yet (obviously) but its quite obvious that this show's intended audience is not sex and the city's audience.

Liddy is right, I don't want to like the twat either and her writing stinks. "A boring Roseanne" isn't that redundent.....But I have not seen the show yet, so I will wait until I see it on Sunday before I pass judgement.

Have you guys seen lucky louie yet? To play the other side of the argument here (you know, devils advocate), what if the show just isn't that good? Personally, I have no idea if the show is good or not. I'll let you all know Sunday night. There is no reason to go after reviewers because they didn't like Lucky Louie. Yet.

HBO's misguided answer to the comedy void left by "Sex and the City"?
Sex and the City WAS a comedy void! It's a comedic black hole! It even sucks in the funny from the shows on the adjacent channels! I can't stop ending my sentences with exclamation points! I'm an over-puntuating douchebag! Somebody stop me!

I have seen most of the first episode. I think that the humor is really good, edgy and honest. It seems to me something of a throwback to an older style of sitcoms, but with edgier and better humor.
So far I like it a bunch.

Dude, screw the critics.. the Sex & the City 'void' comment tells me that shes looking for a replacement for that show. Shes not getting it here, and she's gonna slam it. This show is going torward a different audience.
I havent d'loaded louie yet, but will watch this weekend... for all I know it could suck for me, but I'm not surpriseed that it sucks for her.

I've watched the episode a couple times and I find a lot of it funny. The acting is a little stiff, but that's to be expected with unproven talent. Even if I didn't laugh out loud at parts of the show I would still give it a few episodes before making a final judgement due to my enjoyment of Louis C.K.'s and Jimmy's comedic talent. It must also be expected that some, maybe even lots won't like the show. That's life. I like some movies and TV that O&A and Jimmy shit all over. Does that make it shit? Not to me, my opinion does have some validity just as the critics do. You don't have to agree with them, but its ignorant to bash someone just because you feel differently.

I would agree, but this cunt is a special enemy of the show and her "0 star" review stinks of agenda, she deserves to be slammed.

I said I saw the episode thats gonna air on Sunday, and most of us have. The link is on here if you want to check it out early. It wasn't horrible and I think it has definite potential. You can't judge a show on the first episode anyway, just go watch the Seinfeld Chronicles to prove that one.

"Lucky Louie"
Sunday night at 10:30 on HBO
WHAT if you took "The Honeymooners," and placed it in 2006?provided it wasnt done by Cedric the nitter comedian. Would it end up as ugly and slimy as "Lucky Louie," HBO's misguided answer to the comedy void left by "Sex and the City"?Isn't she one of the cougars on that show? If the answer is yes, then the bigger question is, "How did we sink to this level?"The level of being a stuck up spoiled cunt?
The show opens with Louie (Louis C.K), a low-paid muffler-installer talking to his unpleasant pre-school daughter, and you get the impression that it's a boring "Roseanne." You should be so lucky.
Instead, it's a darkly depressing "comedy" about what Louis C.K. thinks is close-to-real-life fun. Honey - if that's your reality, check me out now.Give me a fucking break you cunt, dont the majority of people that live in the united states live like this?
Louie and wife Kim (Pamela Adlon) live in a depressing "Honeymooners"-era apartment - with, yes, a dingy brown kitchen. I mean, really, who paints their kitchen brown?Umm, My wall paper has been torn down and the wall is sort of brown, and I am a home owner with TWO Adults working two good paying jobs and my house still looks like a shit hole.
When Kim wants another baby, she tries to force Louie to have sex, but Louie prefers to masturbate to magazine layouts of Jessica Simpson. Ewww. If this cunt is married, I am sure her husband jerks off alot more than he has sex with her
There's also a lot of nasty-looking sex between Kim and Louie, and even a full-frontal nude shot of Louie running out of bed. Not a pretty sight. This is a perfect example why O&A do not have a hole sitting in the third seat, or any fucking seat for that mater

It's not the point that she doesn't like the show, she can have her own opinion, it's that she slams it like Sex and the City was some christian program and Lucky Louie is nothing but slime. She doesn't seem to mind that the women on Sex and the City show were whoring out but the humor on LL was the lowest level of humor. What a c*nt.
Personally, I'm tired of seeing shows where everyone has a major paying job and live in great house. You'd have to go back to All in the Family or Good Times, to see a more realistic portrayal of life. Not everything is rosy.
People on here, with all their bitching, think Jimmy is on her case just because she didn't care for the show. To quote him from all his rants "Be consistent" and she isn't. Holy f*cking' christ, the people here are supposed to be fans and all that goes on anymore is to bash the bbbboys on the show. Go to Hoo Hoo's site if you don't like the show, then.

So far, I'm most of the way through the 1st episode, and I think it's pretty good. Nothing spectacular, but it's better than most of the other shit on television.
Of course, my opinion doesn't mean anything....I hated Tough Crowd.
