We're trying to figure out whether to get seats or lawn... While the lawn is always cool, by September it'll be a big dirt pile. My worry is that when you have a band talking between songs, you can never understand what they are saying.... do you think there will be a problem understanding what the comics are saying on the lawn? For $20, it's such a steal.

Friends of ours are going to buy seats, and then hang out on the lawn, but have the option of going back to the seats if it's raining, etc. $20 safety net. That's not a bad idea, except we are going with a bunch of people who I don't want to ditch if it starts raining.

L-3 is located at 1 Federal Street in Camden, NJ.
Not sure of the prices because I get in for free with my ID.
I wish I could let you all in but they actually check it at the main gate on concert days. The front of the Tweeter Center is right up the street, 5 minutes away walking.

Maybe have the pre-party at Top Dog on 38? No idea how the prices are for drinks, but I figure that may be better instead of people pointlessly paying the toll to go over for the pre-party, whereas everyone has to be on the Jersey side for the show.
Just a thought.
Can investigate for other places as well, but Top Dog is rather large, so I've been told.

I might be taking my Mom to the comedy show @ the Tweeter. She's a DJ on 107.1 The Breeze in NJ. I told her she better prepare herself for a wackbagger tailgate party and the "brand of cringe humor" she's going to hear. I believe my mom is going to be a changed or mortified woman at the end of that night. how much does ticketmaster suck??!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was refreshing the page religously from 2 minutes before 9 and sure enough right at 9 it showed to buy tickets....so i go to buy the most expensive ones coz i wanted to be up front....and it comes back with nothing available...not even one minute into the sale....so im checking again and i get back in the 200 section which is good, but i wasnt happy with them....so kept checking...then i started getting nervouse coz i lost those tickets all that were coming back were worse...lo and behold, at 9:16 i get 2 seats in row 4 of 101 or something like that so im happy, but i decide to check one more time...and it comes up with pit tickets...so of course i have to buy those!!!
so now i have an extra two tickets to the show in philly/camden. if anyone knows anyone looking for decent tickets i have two...they will cost them...1000 each!!! lol just kidding, just want to get what i paid for them so let me know if someone wants them, coz i really doubt my brother will come down for it so i just want to sell for what i paid.
ah...thank you!

BTW, it would be awesome to get to the tailgate as it seems I am the lone O&A fan in Melbourne, Australia so anyone to talk O&A with would be awesome.

You can take NJTransit from NYC to Trenton. There is a transfer at Trenton for the new RiverLine Light Rail that will take you to Camden. The stop is actually right next the Tweeter Center.

Look for hotels in the Independence Park / Society Hill area, and you should be closer to Tweeter... Best bet is to call before booking "How many blocks from Penn's Landing, or the Hyatt"

I've been to many Tweeter events... All of the parking lots turn into one big party. Forget Dave & Busters. Forget Hanks. Just get into a prime, large parking lot, open up your cheap beer, get buzzed, and work the crowd.

Working the crowd is one of the best part of going to shows. Fun, crazy people.... And just think.. with this show, EVERYONE is AT LEAST as sick, twisted, perverted as you are. That's gotta make for one hell of a time!

Then the chicks get drunk... and the WOWs start a poppin!!! Seriously, a chick going to this show is almost expected to WOW, or at least shouldn't be offended if asked.

Woohoo... on second thought... if you are a dude, have fun at D&B or Hank's. More boobies for me at the parking lots.

Anyone out there willing to give me a little info regarding how to get to the show. I'm coming from Sacramento, CA and am going to be in Manhattan for the week. My question? Is their any good way (other than renting a car) to get from Manhattan to the Tweeter? Thanks for any help.

Fly into Philly and catch the train. Otherwise, if you have to fly into NY, you should be able to catch a train on NJ transit, the Northeast corridor line and take it all the way down.

Absolutely. Renting a car would probably be your worst option.

From Manhattan, you can just take Amtrak down from Penn Station to Philly. You'll be there in about an hour and a half. Or, for less than half the price, you can do New Jersey Transit (also from Penn Station) into Trenton, and then SEPTA from Trenton to Philly. But that'll take more like 3 hours.
Once you're in Philly, you can take a cab, the ferry, or PATCO to Camden and Tweeter.

Or you can go ghetto and take a Greyhound (~$50 round trip to philly) which only takes about 90min.

Once you're in center city philly, you can take the speedline train (http://www.drpa.org/patco/) over to camden.

Hey I'm coming from Australia and I'll be in New York City from the start of September. I got my ticket (pretty sweet seating at the Tweeter Centre - 102, Row K, Seat 17) now all I need is to be able to get there from NYC. What is the best way? Is there an Amtrak or can I handover some cash to get a lift with one of you pests?

BTW, it would be awesome to get to the tailgate as it seems I am the lone O&A fan in Melbourne, Australia so anyone to talk O&A with would be awesome.

Send me a PM with any details.

Much appreciated,

Seems alot of people looking for a definative meeting erea for baggers... Lets call this the wackbag landing zone.

Its a safe erea the path to tweeter is lined with cops,,, so no worries about locals stealin your jimmy norton shirt.

For those of you from out of town.... Camden is at the bridgeway to Philadelphia,, so if you travel the map down south from the event,, there are local motels right on the freeway named 42.

there are a few in "Deptford"-4miles away///
"runemead " - 3 miles away,,, but 1 mile from freeway.
"blackwood" ... Its a HOJO,, but its been filling with a few section 8's... its a good neighborhood though. actual only 2 blocks from me. Im roughly 5 miles from the venue.

you can PM me with questions, Im very local to the tweetercenter.

Another option could be a bar named "ADELPHIAS" in Deptford for pre tailgate meetings,,, Its slightly upscale, reasonably priced.. two blocks from the freeway entrance. venue 4 miles on left.

I say upscale meaning you may have trouble with sneakers or tank tops... but i think its lax during the daytime.

SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT PLACE....

New Jersey is richest state, but has some of the poorest cities

By GEOFF MULVIHILL
The Associated Press

New Jersey again has the highest household income of any state and one of the lowest poverty rates, according to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau, but two of its biggest cities are among the poorest in the nation.

Camden ranks as the poorest place in the country with a population over 65,000 and Newark is among the poorest cities with more than 250,000 people, according to the figures released Tuesday based on data for 2005.

The numbers illustrate that New Jersey, with its middle-class and wealthy suburbs nestled up against struggling, old industrial cities, continues to be a place of stark economic contrasts.

On the whole, the state has high incomes, along with a high cost of living. Half the households make more than $61,672 per year - putting the Garden State just ahead of Connecticut as the nation's richest. And the poverty rate of 8.7 percent is lower than every state except for New Hampshire, Maryland and Connecticut.

The census income report a year ago found New Jersey's poverty rate slightly lower - 8.5 percent. But Legal Services of New Jersey Poverty Research Institute on Tuesday said its own analysis, which took into account the high cost of living, shows that more than one in five state residents are impoverished.

Despite that, Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset and Burlington counties are all among those with the lowest poverty rates in the country and Hunterdon, Somerset, and Morris all rank among the highest-income places in the nation. Among all the counties across the country with populations over 65,000, only two - Loudon, Va., and Fairfax, Va. - have median household incomes higher than those in Hunterdon.

A seat of the pharmaceutical industry with many residents who commute to New York, the county north of Trenton sees half its households bring in more than $93,342 per year.

Yet, among large cities nationally, only six have lower incomes than Newark, where the median household income was $30,665.

In Camden, 44 percent of the roughly 80,000 residents live in poverty - the highest such rate in the nation, according to the study. The median household income in the city is $18,007, which is the nation's lowest.

The gritty city near Philadelphia, where the state has been trying to jump-start redevelopment efforts, is no stranger to studies that portray life there as harsher than in other cities with tough reputations.

One research firm found in 2004 and 2005 that the city was the nation's most dangerous.

I'd really really like to go to the Tweeter Center next week, but I don't have a ride from Westchester county. I was wondering if anyone had a bus or a caravan that they were taking and a bunch of other people were going. I remember at the PNC some people were talking about doing that cause it would be really cheap and could have money on a hotel.

Any info from anyone? And if it's not done would anyone in the NY area be up for doing that?

Hi all, those of us from that other board are going to be gearing up for a tailgate after all- and as always will have much more beer and food than we can eat, and we would LOOOOVE to have all you WBers join us if you are up for it! Details will be announced tomorrow, but we are going to meet up in the park along the river and drink and hang all day. Many of the Camden lots won't open until later in the day though.

A better option is to park in Philly and ferry over and join us. The setup crews are probably going to meet in a rest area nearby earlier so people who have stuff to donate for the party can put it in our cars. Think disposable coolers!!!! :-D Of course you can also park at the nearby tweeter center lots. Full details are posted over there. I don't want to intrude on the giant W zone though. Just wanted you all to know you're welcome to come hang with us before the lots open, or after, or whatever.

Go to Orbitz, and you can get a good deal at an airport hotel, a bunch of did just that. Definatly less then the hotels web site. Hint a good hotel has a pool and room service. Average price for this weekend was around $95.00 a night for Fri/Sat.

Yes! There is a porn shop , but only magazines no movies or anything, but if you go down further, there is a motel with a Denny's in front of it the hotel price is I think $90.00. I have been in Philly my whole life and never went to the Tweeter Center. I won tickets from YSP on the Kidd Chris show. Are these tickets good? Lawn3 Row GA1 Seat 124. It says Lawn so I figure its on the lawn and I guess everyone just finds there own place to hang. What time does the tailgating start? I have a truck, a beat up '87 Nissan Pathfinder.

I was looking at Google maps yesterday and it looks like after you get off 676 following signs for Tweeter Center, one of the first streets on the right is Cooper Street. That street appears to be a straight shot back down to the river and the big lot. There's a pretty large grassy area by the river at that lot.

I was thinking it would be a good idea to meet at this lot (which is always open) and go over to the tweeter as a convoy. This way we can all be sure to be in the same lot, not to mention get our game plan together in case the lots are not open. THis is also a very good place to leave your car (if you are a group of people meeting) and hop in one car to avoid a bunch of $15 parking charges. Here is the address

the building that looks like an H is L-3 and the lot is right in front of it.
i have no idea how much it is to park there or when they open to the public. if they follow the tweeter rules then i guess everyones best bet is the parking garage which is a tad bit closer anyway.

Another Super tailgate party. Great food, Great People and enough food to feed another 100 people. Tons of pics I am sure will be posted in the coming days.
And look for the After Party pics, that's right peeps after 6hrs of tailgating and the 4 hour show, we are all heading to the biggest bar on the river in Philly to continue the night.
I hope someone breaks down Threads to 1.Tailgate pics/videos
2. Show pics/videos
3. After Party pics/videos

Kinda like I would like a YouTube fourum to be......................
