Anyone have any info on this game. Is it supposed to be any good?

Well, considering you will play no football, I can only imagine the die-hards picking it up. Or you can pick up NFL 2k5 which had the same feature and you can play football. EA sucks. They steal the lisence for the NFL and the good ESPN football games are no more. They can make them as crappy as they want and you would have no other option (except Blitz).

I think it would be kinda cool. But with not being be able to play there would be no pay off. I mean its Madden in coach mode sounds pretty boring and a ton of siming. But its smart marketing, ppl will buy this cause they need the football fix then in a month when you hate this game the NCAA game will come out so you buy that and then a month later Madden comes out.. Fucking Crooks.

I've always liked games like this...but built into another core game like the typical Madden games. But this sounds interesting. Don't know if $39.99 is worth it though. EA Sucks. Last good Madden: Madden 04. The NCAA Football games are good though. They keep on adding features that I enjoy.

As beylorussion54 said, its for the diehards. Im most looking forward to playing this game online. On Madden online, you can get away with running the same 4-5 plays and you can run the ball for 200 yards a game with a RB like Tatum Bell just by hitting juke. Im not dissing Bell, but on Madden online hes the toughest RB,imo, because when he jukes its an automatic extra 5 yards, at the very least.

The NFL went to EA with the offer, EA accepted it. You cant be mad at a corportation making a smart decision that would make them more money.

The only thing that really stinks about the deal is that by them doing it that way EA got shut out of baseball. I liked the MVP games better then all the other baseball games. The college baseball game is ok but its just not the same as using the pros.

Yes, you can. They did not force them to accept. Do you think if all the companies denied, the NFL Players League would have said 'No one can make NFL games'?
Exclusive contracts suck. When 2 companies are in competition, the consumer wins. We get cheaper prices and a better product. Now where is that? What is the motivation for EA to make a good game? They can put out the same crap with updated rosters and a few new features that suck (which they always did anyway) and there are people that still buy it. It is a stupid concept.

I bought the game and the concept is awesome but there are problems with it. I had it freeze up on me a couple of times. The loading and saving takes entirely to long. Every game I play I win 50-0. You cant change difficult settings. It gets a little boring while playing, they should have an announcer in the background to tell you the play. I wish they had an option where you can let the off. and def. pick while u are watching instead of having to make sure ur on the sidelines yelling at your little coloreds. I also have problems remembering which plays I have practiced so the ones I didnt i could take off the list of plays. I like the fact you have to get your players ready for the game on sunday and if you do nothing with them they will not increase in overall performance. Couple of other good things as well.
Wondering what anyone else thought of this game.

All the people bitching about the game, either haven't played it or don't get the concept. It's not a game of executing the same 10-15 plays. It's a game of preparation. It's almost like a football-based RPG. It's fairly realistic and at times can be ponderous. But, it is a well-executed concept. It's for people like me, who spend most of their time with the Madden games in the off-season instead of playing the games. If you play all of your regular season games and sim the off-season, don't buy this. You will hate it. Otherwise, this was an impressive first step for EA.

love the game. but yes there are flaws. your rb could have holes to run in and he stops and jukes. i havent done the practice the last 2 weeks and my players have gotten better. ive had some close games and some blowouts. its only for diehard football fans though

John Madden sucks in Madden.
Im playing NFL2k5 at this very moment.

Gameplay, graphics, sound -- pretty much the most important aspects of a game. Personally, I never got into Madden. All my friends love it and play it, but I always prefered the 2k series.
