Why we all like OandA!
I for one would like to point something out (maybe the alchohol has something to do with it) but regardless, something that should be said is that OandA are different from the other "shock Jocks". We have listened to OandA because we the listners were part of the show; OandA never made us feel that we were below them like some other jocks (howard). OandA actually liked thiere fans, unlike some others who just like to talk about the naked chicks they have in studio; granted I like that too, OandA actually provided us the naked chicks WOW, very nice. I just wanted to bring that little tidbit up (elbow to the ribs).

I just love how damn funny they are. I still remember the call from a dc listen who said "its not my brand of humor" then they spun it around and created a whole language (of real words), it was just funny, I find I go up to my freinds, and elbow them in the ribs, or even just say it. Your a card! ACE OF SPADES, fake laugh. oh good golly grief, im just joshin

I think what makes them consistently entertaining is the fact that beyond the world of radio, they're regular guys. They talk about things that you'd talk about sitting around with your friends. That's why they've been successful in the areas that they needed to be successful in.

I wouldn't say that they where "always funny" there where times when the show was down right in pain.. But.. I still sat through it. The thing that drew me to them was the fact that it was almost like hanging out with your buds, and just bullshitting.. Nothing too scripted, just off the cuff. I loved when Bruer would stop by, and the stories from growing up, because it could relate to anyone who grew up in the subburbes. They also gave me companionship when I needed it. I used to listen to 101.5 at work, just to have a voice in the background while I was working, then I found O and A and would actually turn it up loud so I could hear it even if I was in the trunk of a car (I install Car audio / video so I am often in the trunk of cars, BTW if you decide to get a system CLEAN your car you learn what true pigs people are when you take apart their cars) Anyway.. Working is alot harder now that they are not on the air. Rona nd Fez help the morning fly by, then it's back over to 101.5, then to the Ron and Fez replay.. Not the same..

The show made you feel equal to O&A becuase it did feel like a bunch of friends just hanging out and having fun. It seemed like a lot of shows would just start off with O&A hinting to us "What do you people want to talk about today?". No other show has every really had that feel to it in my opinion ever since I started listening to talk radio. God I miss hearing the guys. Some day we'll all have the last laugh and staions like WNEW and WCKG will be wishing that they never turned their backs on O&A.

They truly made you feel like you were chatting with your buddies at a bar.. Even in person I spoke to Op and the RON and FEZ night of fights 1 out here on Long Island and he was completely cool we were talking Hockey.. The USA vs. Russia was on the TV during a break in the action... I used to Listen to OP when he was on WBAB in the early 90's with his "Opie's Nightime Attitude show"

Granted, I only caught O&A for the year they were in philly, but the thing that kept me tuning in was I could relate to them. There wasn't one show that I didn't laugh. They were real, they were us, extensions of us, the listeners. They made me laugh, they made me cringe, they made me cry (laughing). You could feel like a part of the show.
D&M: two guys who have yet to make me laugh. two guys who base their show on how funny they are. they are soooo funny that they refuse to share their high brow humor with the likes of us.
Howard: a multi-millionaire who talks about banging his model girlfriend. The man who was king and has grown to be tyrant.
I will always have a WOW sticker on my truck. It wasn't about the tits, ok not always about the tits, it was about the boys. I don't care if infinity locks them in a cage, i will be showing my grandchildren my WOW stickers, and telling them stories about the two funniest fucking guys i have ever heard.

I was always amazed at just how funny they were (are!!). Everyday it was something off the wall. My girls and I took WOW by the horns and brightened many a dreary day at RU. Just plain fun!!!

absolutely, I've got a WOW sticker from every syndication city that would send me one, and those stations no longer exist. The only remaining statement reflects the absolute truth.

The reason listen is cause they made my day by laughter.
I know it sounds cheesy but when I was going thru some depression, I listened to them. Moreover, they made me giggle each day. Also being a part of this board helped me a lot also with healing.
I have been hooked on them for almost 3 years and I never missed a show. Even when I did, I would find a way to listen with SU.
I was a little close-minded before I started hearing them. Also I was into blue comedy. Therefore, it helped me understand the show more.
When I got hooked they did the most offensive music contest it was on a Friday, I have heard of them but never wanted to listen I kept saying they are copy cats from stern. Then when I did I was just amazed and wanted to know any kind of info on them. Luckily the next week after I started to hear the show I kept getting hooked I was a little lost. Until that week, after they had a vacation and they played the worst of so I got all caught up with the boys. And since then I have never stopped listening The boys always gave me cheer each day with Anthony’s talent just got me sucked into what they call a virus. I remember I was looking for fans online that loved Opie and Anthony very cool I am still friends with some of them.
Also the 1st friend of the O&A show was Keith the cop he is cool.
I truly miss the boys a lot they just gave many of us cheer. Sorry to sound like a sap people but these are my feelings on this. ;)
May the boys be back ASAP. Cause I am truly losing it with out them on.

even now, without them on...they still make me laugh. When i think of Anthony saying even the simplest stuff like the way he says, "allllright Opie." or "b-b-b-boys". i miss them. i refuse to listen to Don and Mike. they really suck. I'm not just saying that becasue i'm a close minded bitter O & A fan. I'm saying that cause they really do suck.
does Fofolina's picture turn anyone else on beside me?

AMEN BROTHER!!!!
Dumb & Meek have never gotten more than a chuckle out of me (i occasionally listen because there is nothing else on). To me it seems like they are the only ones who TRUELY get ANY their jokes... I find it funny that their fans all seem to "get it" when in my opinion there is nothing to get... then they make you feel like an f'n moron if you don't get their joke
I listened to the b-b-b-boys because they made me laugh with the things that they did on the air (I nearly drove off the road daily on the way home). When they 1st came on the air here in philly, "i was like what the f' is going on, who are these Stern Ripoffs" (god I can't believe I thought that). Needless to say by the 2nd hour of their 1st show here in philly I was hooked...
I think that the difference between ONA and everyone else is that they actually made you feel like you were part of the family...
no matter how dysfunctional that family was...

An old thread for sure, but after reading the old post here i had to reply. I agree with just about each of the post, these were guys just hanging out, cracking jokes and just being guys. I listened to em cause it eased my day, made me laugh when I was on the verge of driving my truck into a river, kept me sane when I was about to go postal.
It's why I had listened to them, and still listen to them. It's been more then a year since the last live show (not counting implegs recording of the "Clean out day") and I still listen now just as I did 13 months ago. And when I have heard everything out there I will listen to it all again, cause in the long run it's better then what's on the radio these days. Kinda like a good frend telling the same story over again even though you heard it before. Sometimes them old stories are just to damn funny. And at the same time you wait for a story he has not told before.
So, anyone, why do you keep listening?
(sorry to bring back an old thread ::hammer:, just seemed like the thing to do-now excuse me, I am still reading some old threads.)

PERFECT! If O and A could be summed up simply you just gave the PERFECT answer. There's this and that about o and a that we all like but it comes down to the fact that its an extremely funny show that deals with and talks about shit you and your friends talk about...

3 things...
#1-Fan Appreciation. They understand why they are on top and where they come from. They NEVER forgot the listeners.
#2-Unpredictiblity. Every on bad days you had to listen because you never know if something might just change from break to break. Never knew what was coming next. Never heard a show like it in my life.
#3-It felt like they were our buddies and second family. You felt like you belonged and never felt dumb or stupid because you knew there were other people out there just like you who loved these guys.
There are many other reasons but those were the obvious ones that I wanted to point out.
