Which I havent been in for years and I couldnt find any PC games. They used to be on a decent part of the wall. I looked and looked and I found a rack and It looked like the discount bin at a wal mart. This is were they sell PC games if any other store sells em at all ( a lot dont anymore). Its depressing as I look in every direciton cheap, quick to make arcade shit games that you loose interest in a day and THOSE are what are hogging all the walls. The time of taking your time and enjoying the game for months if not years is now replaced by ADD inspired eye candy that sells for 60 dollars. Makes me sick and the lemmings just eat it up. I HATE CONSOLES

I was recently in my local EB Games, it was the same there. Walls covered in PS2, XBOX,360 and Gamecube mugs. Only a tiny section left for PC games.
By the time the Wii and PS3 ships, there will be NO space left for PC games.

There is a reason those shit stores have such a small PC section: They can't sell the games preowned which is like 90% of EB/GameStop's business now (it is also really hurting the games industry). Fuck those stores.

Very true. I got an XBOX 2 years ago and the only game I ever played on it was GTA:SA. I was going to buy it for computer, but I thought it would be easier without a keyboard.

I like watching the PC-only gamers watch their favorite market become smaller and smaller, too stubborn to realize console gaming is where to go for the most quality games with the most variety. Look at PC game sales weekly. It's filled with WoW and The Sims + expansions.
PC gaming is a joke except for a couple genres that get a great game here and there, in my opinion.
They're not lemmings, ass. They just want games. And guess what? Most people don't want to fuck around with PCs to play a game. They want to get a cheap PS2 and buy tons of cheap good games you can just pop in and play. You can't get Smash Bros., Halo 2, Soul Calibur, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy, etc. etc. etc. for PCs. Hell, you have to wait half a year for GTA now.
And please, leave the pretentious LEAVE THE GAMING TO THE BIG PC BOYS bullshit home. You're not better gamers because you play PC only/mostly. In fact, by ignoring consoles, you're not much of a gamer at all. Play both.

Ironicly, that's the same arguement "grunt" console fanboys use (Not saying you are cuddles).
I like watching the PC-only gamers watch their favorite market become smaller and smaller, too stubborn to realize console gaming is where to go for the most quality games with the most variety. Look at PC game sales weekly. It's filled with WoW and The Sims + expansions.
"Quality games" is argueitive. Since fanboys started to really stick their noses into the game industry (Maybe about the Dreamcast age?) "Quality" is now really a personal taste. One person can say Doom 3 was a good game, another, such as myself, can say it was a dark repeative borefest attempting to be scary. True quality games used to be back in the SNES days, where graphics and "this little system can do this" came into play, and spawned the fanboy.
PC gaming is a joke except for a couple genres that get a great game here and there, in my opinion.
And console games arn't? sequel after sequel. Fanboys creating dumb little wars that in the end really mean nothing. And consoles themselves looking to impliment every little feature so they can appease the fanboys hunger and anyone who falls for the eye candy. If PC gaming is a joke, Consoles are 3 guffaws and a yuck.
They're not lemmings, ass. They just want games. And guess what? Most people don't want to fuck around with PCs to play a game.
So i guess they want to fuck around with a 500$ system and 50-60$ games that craps out on them becuase the thing overheated and died, wait a good number of days for a system that might last just as long and do a quarter of the things a PC can do becuase LOOK AT THE PRETTY SCENERY IN OBLIVION!, just to wait another 2-3 years to pay double for the next gen console right out the gate. Not lemmings indeed.
They want to get a cheap PS2 and buy tons of cheap good games you can just pop in and play. You can't get Smash Bros., Halo 2, Soul Calibur, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy, etc. etc. etc. for PCs.
As much as i love my PS2 and the Guitar hero, Beatmania and all the other cute little things i could never play on my PC, it just doesn't cover all my basis. FPS games suck on consoles, very few are good (and no, halo isn't). Same goes for RTS games, certain RPGs (Like oblivion, fable, and MMOs), simulators, and other things of the sort. Diablo? Doom? Half-life? Would they be as popular if they came to Console first? I don't think so.
And BTW, FF7 and FF11 are both on the PC, thank you...
....and emulators, what be about them?
And please, leave the pretentious LEAVE THE GAMING TO THE BIG PC BOYS bullshit home.

i don't hate consoles or people who play them. i just prefer a PC to game on. i have an xbox that I never touch except to play HALO and I haven't even played that in a long time. I also prefer the community on the PC side of gaming; most console gamers are casual gamers IMO. PC gamers tend to be more hardcore.
The advancements in technology in PC gaming happen constantly while you have to wait for a new console to come out before you can upgrade. The next big thing in PC gaming, for instance, is physics. Soon you will be able to designate a card in multi gpu systems solely to physics processing. that is going to open up a whole new world of possibilities on the PC that you won't have on 360 or PS3.

You're a casual gamer. That's all fine and dandy. I'm not looking to flame like some of the dopes around here. I grew up on consoles and had every console of the last generation (Not 360). Once I fell into PC gaming I never looked back. The communities, multiplayer experience, downloadable/customizable content, graphics, the sense of immersion (when playing on a console I just feel like I'm playing a video game), and the fact that the controls are so much more responsive just blow consoles away imo. Like Tim said, to argue anything other than the fact that there are more games for consoles is just silly. And yes, 90% of them are shit.

Like Tim said, to argue anything other than the fact that there are more games for consoles is just silly. And yes, 90% of them are shit.
It absolutely pains me to find a game on xbox live.
Okay, point by point.
Communities: PC wins, but X-box live is catching up quickly for the in-game aspects and the community itself has little to do with actual gaming. Nothing is stopping me from getting off the couch for a sec to check a message board.
Multiplayer: Same if not better for console. Really no argument here. All the same features without any of the lag you get from PC gaming. With a console, everyone has the same system so there is no lag. In the PC world, you could have the best online rig money can buy and it becomes irrelevant if you are gaming with someone running a 2-year old PC, thus having to suffer their lag.
Downloadable/customizable content: This is actually two points. DL content is the same at this point. With consoles having large HD's and high speed access, the ability to use DL content is limited only by availability.
As far as customizable content, PC obviously has the edge. I expect that to change in the next gen after this, but not in the 360/PS3 era.
Graphics: Silly argument. Unless you have the very best PC system money can buy, the current gen of graphics are as good or better than you can get on the PC. Any even when the PC has better graphics, the difference is negligible and becomes irrelevant on a desktop monitor. ( I know, you can plug you PC into a TV, but who really does? What are you going to do, set up you PC on your coffee table?)
Immersion: Console wins easy. More natural controls. The comfort of sitting on a couch. Large screen TVs, surround sound...and just the fact that you are not sitting at a desk. Nothing feels more "fake" than a computer screen.
Controls: Ah, the great argument. IMO controller owns keyboard/mouse. More responsive, just as accurate, puts far less stress on your hands and gives far easier access to commands. With the 360 and PS3 ability to utilize a wireless keyboard or hotpad for hotkeys, the last argument has been put down. Let the mouse die.
And let me add a few more:
Stability. No matter what you do to a PC, no matter how savvy you think you are, PC's are inharently unstable. They are prone to crashes and glitches. And watch how fast your preformance goes down if you don't preform routine, and annoying, weekly maintanence. There is not a PC game on the market that won't make you PC go tits up from time to time. With the exception of TES:Oblivion, lock ups are rare on a console, if they happen at all. Even with Oblivion, the console doesn't see even a fraction of the stability problems that the PC version does.
Cheating: Cheating on a console in this gen is impossible for most and highly difficult for the minority. The only way to cheat on a console is to get a shark type device or to hack the box, both of which are easily detectable by the Live system (and whatever Sony will use) and weeded out. For PC gaming, there is almost no way to stop the cheating. Even the most un-tech savvy 12-year-old script kitty can give himself subtle or obvious advantages online.
Gamewise, the only real advantage PC has is RTS. They still havn't figured out a console friendly RTS interface. MMORPGs are not even a problem anymore once you plug in a KB. The controller may even be better since I can go long periods of time without having to touch a KB beacuse of the extra commands and macros programmed into the gamepad. We can go round and round about FPS, but my experience with Halo is that I can rock any mouse/keyboard player out there. I wish they would get more cross-platform FPS's so platformers can put the to rest for good. (Halo stinks, I have no illusions)

In the PC world, you could have the best online rig money can buy and it becomes irrelevant if you are gaming with someone running a 2-year old PC, thus having to suffer their lag.
that just makes them easier for me to kill.
Downloadable/customizable content: This is actually two points. DL content is the same at this point. With consoles having large HD's and high speed access, the ability to use DL content is limited only by availability.
As far as customizable content, PC obviously has the edge. I expect that to change in the next gen after this, but not in the 360/PS3 era.
once again its becoming even more like a PC. so what's the difference?
Graphics: Silly argument. Unless you have the very best PC system money can buy, the current gen of graphics are as good or better than you can get on the PC. Any even when the PC has better graphics, the difference is negligible and becomes irrelevant on a desktop monitor. ( I know, you can plug you PC into a TV, but who really does? What are you going to do, set up you PC on your coffee table?)
becomes irrelevant on a desktop monitor? i play on a 24" widescreen and its pretty relevant. and having the lastest and greatest in technology is all part of PC gaming, if you can't afford it or don't want to pay then a console is for you, I guess...
Immersion: Console wins easy. More natural controls. The comfort of sitting on a couch. Large screen TVs, surround sound...and just the fact that you are not sitting at a desk. Nothing feels more "fake" than a computer screen.
more natural sounds? you are talking out your ass, sir. i have a 5.1 surround sound system and an x-fi sound card and it sounds pretty damn good.
nothing feels more fake than a computer screen?! what do you have on your PC? a 15" CRT from 1995?
Controls: Ah, the great argument. IMO controller owns keyboard/mouse. More responsive, just as accurate, puts far less stress on your hands and gives far easier access to commands. With the 360 and PS3 ability to utilize a wireless keyboard or hotpad for hotkeys, the last argument has been put down. Let the mouse die.
thats completely subjective so I won't even argue.
That is because game companies release betas instead of doing the beta testing before release. you can't blame the PC you have to blame game companies for being cheap.
Halo 2...nuff said.
Most of your points just show how consoles are becoming more and more like PC's that you plug into your TV. I really see the only positive of console gaming is the quantity of games.

Sorry, but for FPS's mouse is (and always will be) king. There is nothing as precise as a mouse.
Easier access to commands? Maybe because there are what.... 10-12 buttons and 2 sticks compared to an entire keyboard-worth of keys. Not even to mention that if you pick yourself up a gaming mouse you can have almost as many buttons available to your right hand alone.
And, IMO, honestly console commands are NOT easier to access.
Perfect example is Battlefield2:MC. If I remember right, to change your weapon you need to press one of the shoulder buttons and then move your stick in the direction of the weapon you want. How is that easier than hitting one button, once? Its not, but they had to do something to make up for the lack of buttons.
Consoles have their pluses, PC's have theirs.
For sports, fighting, or generally arcadey games give me a console. For FPS's, racing or any simulation-type games give me a PC.

Which I havent been in for years and I couldnt find any PC games. They used to be on a decent part of the wall. I looked and looked and I found a rack and It looked like the discount bin at a wal mart.
I agree and for the Morons that say My Console has more powerful than your PC.......... You are Clueless. My PC Dominates any console on the market the depth of Games on The PC is Not even in the same league as a console. Play Call of Duty 2 on your Puny X-box 360 then Run it on my PC with Anti aliasing Blasted and the graphics settings set to 1600 x 1200 and then tell me your X-box 360 is just as good as my PC. PC gaming PWNS consoles. Keep playing BF2 on your X-box live I'll be Playing the real thing on PC with my graphics jacked to the max. Play an EA sports game on a console then Play it on a pc online and tell me its the same thing.
PC games own Consoles, I'll give the consoles their due when it comes to FIGHTING games PC has to run shit like MAME to get decent arcade style fighters. Consoles are great for Fighting games. Outside that, Give me my MMORPG's on PC , My FPS on PC, My Standard RPGS on PC, I'll play Marvel vs Capcom 2 / Tekken / X-Men: Next dimension style Fighting games on my console.
My console is good for one thing other than collecting dust, Its good to Bring to Florida with me on my Week Vacations at my Timeshare. LOL

Okay, point by point.
Communities: PC wins, but X-box live is catching up quickly for the in-game aspects and the community itself has little to do with actual gaming. Nothing is stopping me from getting off the couch for a sec to check a message board.
Dedicated servers. Knowing you'll go into a game and get exactly what you're expecting: a good game.
Dedicated servers. There's what, up to 16 people in an online game for xbox? I've played with 60 in cs:s without any lag. Someone running a 2-year old pc has nothing to do with lag.
Downloadable/customizable content: This is actually two points. DL content is the same at this point. With consoles having large HD's and high speed access, the ability to use DL content is limited only by availability.
You're allowed to download (and usually pay for) what Microsoft wants you to download. Boy, those consoles are really nipping at our heels now...
As far as customizable content, PC obviously has the edge. I expect that to change in the next gen after this, but not in the 360/PS3 era.
Still ages behind. Thanks for owning up to something.
Immersion: Console wins easy. More natural controls. The comfort of sitting on a couch. Large screen TVs, surround sound...and just the fact that you are not sitting at a desk. Nothing feels more "fake" than a computer screen.
A few feet away from a computer monitor or 10 feet away from your big screen, it makes no difference. A bad argument to make, considering screen size, the kind of speakers you have, and the comfort of your chair are all subjective. Get yourself a nice, comfortable desk chair and upgrade that old 15 inch CRT you're using.
Why let the mouse die? There's no contest between a mouse and those goofy thumbsticks you're using. I love playing a FPS for a console. I go to aim for an enemy and wind up going "Just two more seconds of pushing the thumbstick in this direction before my crosshair gets where it needs to be.." They're not accurate, they're not responsive. They're just stupefied. If I may steal TreeFort's line.. "The average retard can pick up a console controller, smash buttons and love the game."
My computer may freeze up from time to time. Probably just as often as a console due to a dirty or scratched disk. Only need maintenance done monthly, if that. And that's only because the computer is used for so much more than games. And oh yeah, it does it automatically. Things this small shouldn't even be brought up.
We can go round and round about FPS, but my experience with Halo is that I can rock any mouse/keyboard player out there. I wish they would get more cross-platform FPS's so platformers can put the to rest for good. (Halo stinks, I have no illusions)
I doubt you've ever even played anyone using a mouse/keyboard with your controller. I don't care how much you "rock" at a particualr video game. Mouse/keyboard is a more responsive/efficient way of gaming. And that's not just an opinion.

By the time the Wii and PS3 ships, there will be NO space left for PC games.

Like PatBattlefield said so its becoming more like the PC.

Uhm without the lag you get from PC? Uhm if some moron is on a shitty cable line or Shitty DSL signal you will get lag, same as PC. Multiplayer games arent even in the same realm as the PC, The content alone In an MMORPG is insane compared to Console, Look at EVERQUEST alone. The Console Version of EQ was dog shit. Look at the console versions of BF2 compared to PC its DOGSHIT. Who the Hell can play a FPS with a fucking paddle as well as a mouse and Keyboard. Multiplayer maybe good on Console but the games themselves dont compare to their PC counter parts.
Downloadable/customizable content: This is actually two points. DL content is the same at this point. With consoles having large HD's and high speed access, the ability to use DL content is limited only by availability.
Honestly how big is a HDD on a console? How many HDD's can i fit in a PC. If you know anything about SATA drives this is a pointless conversation point. But I will agree that now you Console fans have to deal with the same bullshit we on the PC have to deal with. Welcome to the Hell of "Just get the piece of shit game out on the market before deadline and we'll fucking fix it later" Mentality.
As far as customizable content, PC obviously has the edge. I expect that to change in the next gen after this, but not in the 360/PS3 era.
Don't Expect this EVER!!!! The only way to make money in the console world is to make a NEW console..... Do you know that the X-box and PS-2 to date were never pushed to the limits of their capacity. Yet New consoles are on the market already. They don't want you to be able to Upgrade it. It becomes a PC then.
This is where you have lost your sanity and credibility in your arguement. You mean to tell me that your X-box 360 is gonna pump out better graphics for Call of duty 2 then a PC will? I'm running my PC with 2.... I repeat 2 Video cards at 256Megs of ram on Each. I can play at resolutions of 1600x1200 flawlessly at 100fps with my anti aliasing at full blast. a TV screen wont generate HALF that resolution. Unless your playing X-box 360 on a monitor your arguement is insanity. Consoles Cant touch PCs for graphics.
Immersion: Console wins easy. More natural controls. The comfort of sitting on a couch. Large screen TVs, surround sound...and just the fact that you are not sitting at a desk. Nothing feels more "fake" than a computer screen.
More Insanity tell your arguement to the Mother of the Kid who killed himself over the loss of his EQ character. Tell that to the over 1 million People who played Everquest. And the people who Lost Wives and Jobs and People having to have Interventions to stop people from playing these games. Not to mention the fact that a Sound card like the one I have (Soundblaster X-Fi) can run 7.1 surround sound. And My Monitor is a 21" screen. I get knots in my stomach jumping out of a plane in BF2 when I streaming towards the ground waiting to open my Parachute from the realism the game exudes. Not to Mention HALF LIFE -1 , FEAR, HALF LIFE -2, all made me almost shit myself when something jumped out and scared the shit out of me. Elder Scrolls Oblivion has Some really Immersive graphics.
This is a preference arguement and you cant tell someone what they prefer, but The sensitivity a Mouse and Keyboard can generate is 10x more responsive then a controller for FPS's. And I suggest not using a standard mouse if you wanna give the arguement its fair shake. Im using a trackball Mouse made by Microsoft which uses the thumb to Move instead of sliding a mouse along a pad. My hand never moves from its position and the responsiveness is insane.
You have a semi decent point here but if you are running a shitty pc then your arguement is valid. If you dont keep up with the changing technology then your PC will eventually shit the bed. BUT you forgot to mention that The PS-1 Shit the Bed and had to be recalled cause they were catching Fire or Burning out cause the Wonderful Jap design of Putting air vents on the BOTTOM of the console so when we put it on our rugs on the floor the Air vents were blocked. Or the PS-2 recall or the X-box Recall for plug setting fires. Console's will have their share of Instability as well when the patches start fucking up. The advantage to Console there is that, as you pointed out earlier, You all use the same Hardware so you dont have to worry about conflicts.
Here is the point of your arguement I can actually agree with. But with the Console becoming more like PC the cheats will be soon coming to the consoles as well.
Anyway this is the age old fight that will not be settled anytime soon =P

Having said that I'm convinced the reason that MS has kept mouse/key capability off of their platform which is to keep a "level playing field" is myth. I've used the SmartJoy FRAG (http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3695) in many a Halo 2 game on Live!. I consider myself a good/very good FPS player. There are (many) people on Live! who consistantly blow me away time and time again just using their gamepad. If you took the very best tournament grade Quake player and matched him with his equvilent in Halo 2 then yes, I'd say you'd probably see the mouse player dominate. But for the players of average skill there is much to be said for being a skilled Gamepad user and the differences aren't as large as everyone seems to think. I much prefer a mouse myself but I certainly don't cheat myself out of some great console games just because of it.
When Vista ships we'll see an FPS game made by MS called "Shadowrun" ship both for 360 and PC. MS will be allowing both platforms to share the same game servers for the first time. It's my hope that this game is going to put the mouse/gamepad myth to rest and it will finally convinced MS to allow Mouse/keyboard control on the 360. To me that'll open up that platform to a lot more people.

Calling Halo 2 "retarded" and claming Xbox Live! sucks doesn't really give much credibility to your argument.
What exactly is it that you find objectionable?
Xbox Live! works perfectly fine. It does a better job than many apps like Gamespy or Xfire (ASE hasn't been updated in months). The matchmaking system in Halo 2 works extremely well for what its supposed to do which is match players of similar rank and connection speed and put them on the same server.

I did not say graphics. I said quality of gaming.
It absolutely pains me to find a game on xbox live.
Y'know, I went the exact opposite...I was a dedicated PC gamer. For years. By years, I mean the from the time of Karateka (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/karateka), Chuck Yeager's AFT (http://www.mobygames.com/game/chuck-yeagers-advanced-flight-trainer), and Wasteland (http://www.mobygames.com/game/apple2/wasteland). And it was great...I never thought I'd get a newer console than my old SNES. Until they came out with a sequel to Crimson Skies on the Xbox.
I haven't looked back since. I found a community of older Live gamers, so I never have to sit through matchmaking and deal with any of the fucktards that inhabit it. I never have to worry about cheaters or modders. And we get to have fun like this:
http://community.webshots.com/album/548945440uawQEp
at our yearly get together/LAN party.
So, see, console gaming has done for me what PC gaming has done for you. It's all personal preference.
And I will agree that a lot of console games are shit. But y'know what? There are a lot of shit games for PC too. Always have been, always will be. I know, I played enough of them.

Bravo my friend!
This argument is an old one but personally I've found the PC to be better for games than a console. I have tried to like console games....really! The mouse and keyboard just gives more control. Trying to zero in with that fucking stick or worse those fucking up down side side buttons sucks fat hairy ass.
10 buttons, you gotta hit 2 at once to do some shit, use your fucking pinky to hit a button. Spin aim and shoot in 1/4 of a second. Sorry, not as easy as a mouse and keyboard. I've yet to see a console game that looks as good as a comparable PC game played on an up to date system. And you'll never find a tv that looks as good as a monitor unless you're playing on a HD flatscreen TV with a monitor option. If so, the price of your console gaming system just went up a couple of grand.
I read in PC Gamer about 7 years ago how the "new" console games would spell the end for PC games. The graphics would be 10 times better than the PC. Yeah, right. I've yet to see it.
I can see why they are so popular. They're cheaper than PCs. The games are dumbed down because of the lack of options on that controller. Mommy can put it away when you're done and you never have to upgrade your Windows 98 PC to do anything else but check your email.
Check out the Nvidia SLI. Nuff said.
Sir, I would believe you would greatly enjoy gaming with Xbox Live on the Xbox 360.

I'm gonna go the way of PC gaming this round. I'm gonna get a Wii for the fact that its a different experience from what I've gathered in vids/screenshots but with the prices of consoles now, you might as well get a PC and have the ability to upgrade in 2-3 years if you want.

Very well said. The only reasons I even consider buying a PS3/360 now are because of Metal Gear Solid 4 and Resident Evil 5. And I'm not buying them for how they look, but for how great the series has always been.
Other than that, all I need is a Wii, DS and my PC.

Yeah I'm looking at it now as I'm gonna redo my computer anyway so why not add the extra money that I'd spend on a 360 (what I woudl've gotten) and just spend more on the computer. Looking at all the options I feel like a kid in a candy store :icon_cool . I can't wait to get this thing going... July 24th is taking forever....

Having said that I'm convinced the reason that MS has kept mouse/key capability off of their platform which is to keep a "level playing field" is myth. I've used the SmartJoy FRAG in many a Halo 2 game on Live!. I much prefer a mouse myself but I certainly don't cheat myself out of some great console games just because of it.
you have to factor in mind that halo 2 has the most retardely easy auto-aiming capabilities i've ever seen from an FPS game. granted i stll play and love the game, there's nowhere easier to get a headshot than playing halo 2.

Sorry, but for FPS's mouse is (and always will be) king. There is nothing as precise as a mouse.
Fuck a mouse in its rodent ass. The Logitech Marble Mouse Trackball owns, and it's under $20. As precise as a mouse can be, you still are moving your whole arm. With the Trackball, you have fingertip control. Less fatigue + even more precise control = more gooder.
I've had the same one for about 8 years and at this point, I'd sooner throw* my XM into the toilet and fuck my mother before giving it up.

I tried a trackball mouse and didn't like it much, but I'd use one of them sooner than I'd go back to a controller for a FPS.
Maybe I'd use a trackball for a game like Centipede though.:action-sm

Yeah, that's one of the things I hate about my PS2. The graphics are good, but having to remember all new controls for each game is a bitch sometimes. I don't know if I need more practice (like I have all day to begin with) or if I'm still mainly used to the old Nintendo & Genesis controls.

i have both PC and an Xbox. the only thing i use pc for mainly shooters and strategy games while i use the xbox for more action based games like 'the warriors' and what not. I cannot reverse it. I remember i got that stupid game commandos for the pc and it rocked, but then they came out with a version for a consol and it sucked balls because the controls where so shitty. I like to point and click on something to activate it and not cycle through a bunch of controller movements to get to the thing i want. PC games have the advantage.
Also, i walked into Best Buy and they had shit for PC games. It looked like Belfast after an IRA attack....they only had expansion packs and shitty FPS that i could run off my P1.

Maybe its just because I grew up with them but nothing beats the feel of a console controller, even the bulky xbox controllers which are a little big for me. maybe Im just weird but Ill still use the d-pad before the joystick if I have the option, I could never get used to using one for moving and one for aiming, which is probably why I play fps strictly on PCs (that and they look more realistic)

I'm not the only one who still loves the d-pad!! awesome! I'll use the left analog when I have to but its never felt as natural, don't know why.
I also grew up mostly on consoles, for the most part because our computers were never up to date when I was growing up.
Hell my mom used her 233mhz aptiva for over 5 years even when the thing would freeze up every few minutes she refused to get rid of it....
Only real PC games I played were Pirates!, Legions(IIRC?), warcraft, starcraft, redneck rampage.... that was really it... most of my high school years were busy playing M.U.D.S. online....what a nerd I was :icon_eek:

The benefits of SLI don't outweigh the cost, at best you get 50% improvement in fps and that's only in games that are coded to take advantage of SLI.

Yeah, there is. Call of Duty 2 on the 360...I've seen headshots with a shotgun.

i love how this thread has evolved! i would be a much bigger proponent of high-end (excluding games that work well on almost all systems; ie: wow, cs, aoe series...where it is not essential to have a high-end gaming pc as in fear, hl2, doom3, etc.) pc gaming if i wasn't a college student on a budget i could afford $800-$1000 and build my own awesomsauce gaming pc and be very happy...but i cannot. so until then i must support both pc and console gaming.

I'm not a big gamer at all, but I found this thread funny as hell. It all started with a guy that was pissed because Game Stop doesn't really carry PC based games and it degraded into this? Wow........
Hysterical.
The only thing that would make it better would be an XBOX360/PS3 debate.
