*N.Y.C Rally for O & A*

Friday, September 20th at 3pm
888 Seventh Avenue New York, NY 10106

If you are not familiar with Manhattan and will be in the city prior to 3pm, you can join others at the Globe beforehand.

Directions to the Globe:

"For those of you taking the subway....it's easy, just take the 1,2,a,c,b or d to 59th street/Columbus circle, once you get out of the station, look for the big silver globe-like structure. we'll be meeting under there. for those of you taking a cab or walking, go to the intersection of 60th street and Central Park West, right by the Trump Tower"

If you don't ride the subway or know your way around the city, get in as early as possible.

From Keith the cop:

1) DO NOT block the sidewalk. Blocking the sidewalk = Disorderly Conduct

2) DO NOT drink beer or alcohol in public. A no brainer, but remember even in a paper bag you will be subject to a summons

3) DO NOT smoke illegal substances. Also a no brainer.

4) DO listen to the cops if the ask you to move or disperse. REMEMBER the cops are most likely fans of the show as well. They are just doing their job. We love O&A just as much as the next guy or girl.

5) DO carry identification if you plan on not listening to the above instructions. It will expedite your arrest/summons process and keep your incarceration to a minimum.

WE ALL are very sorry to see this happen. Showing our solidarity in an orderly protest is a great way to show out support. But please head to my advice. Getting in trouble or looking like an asswipe in the name of O&A only makes it look worse.

Other general guidelines for conduct:

1 - No church comments (no anti-Chrurch signs it will make us look bad)

2- Forget WNEW and infinity and focus on O&A (this rally will not help them get back on wnew. We are there just to support o&a.)

3- Keep WoWs out of the site of Media and Police. You will either be made to look stupid, or go to jail.

4- No megaphones, bullhorns or any other sound amplifying devices.

Know this:

1- The media has been notified. You can expect live coverage around 5pm. A bad showing will look bad for Opie and Anthony.

2- CD's of the "Sex for Sam" show have been made and will distributed to the media so they hear first hand that nothing inappropriate was brodcasted.

3- The police have been notified so we DON'T get shut down

To those of you who think this rally is pointless or won't help:

"I have this vision of a massive rally to the point that no other radio big mouths would ever be able to put it down. Something organized by the fans, with no publicity, no radio plugs, no promise of AC/DC in concert....nothing but people getting together in the middle of the busiest city on the planet for the specific reason of wanting to hear the Opie and Anthony show. Whenever they get back on the air I want everybody that went to the rally to know that they are "the O&A army" theyre talking about when the boys use the term."

Guys...today is September 11th, 2002.
One year after the WORST tragedy that NY has ever seen. There are vigils all over the city...people are sad...including myself. Don't you feel that the 20th is just a little too close? After today, and reliving this nightmare, the mindset of most people for a while will be back to last years event and certainly, in contrast, O and A will not be a priority either in the media or in the minds of people of this city.

I want 'em back too and a peaceful rally is a great idea....I just think October would be more suitable.

And listen to Keith the cop! Its common sense stuff.

Not at all. People suggested the 6th and the 14th. Obviously those are too close. The 20th is 9 days from now. If people are still so upset on the 20th, then they simply won't go and they might get a small smile on thier face if they see the raly on the news. Besides, if theyre still terribly upset on the 20th, they probally will be in October as well.

OnA where starting to joke again by the 20th last year.

see the sig in your first part of this thread which i edited - that was your first warning. I deleted the second sig in your second post in this thread after you changed it back, that was the second warning.

Listen, people are part of a bunch of different sites.. Why they feel the need to spam them is beyond me. Have fun on all the sites... If they dont have as much traffic as you would like, then let them build it over time like we did.

I'm sorry that this board cannot serve as a free advertising service.

When we first started out, there were NO boards to spam. We were the FIRST O&A Board. (yes that includes OA.com) I submitted this site to search engines, I emailed O&A fan pages and exchanged links with them, and we got a few plugs on the O&A show. We have never spammed to get traffic.

In anycase my intent wasnt to spam the board, it was to get people to post in the headcount thread if they were gonna go to the rally.......and yea i guess its still considered spam no matter what the reason.

Is it so hard for you to follow board policy? I was told you are a moderator on another board, Therefore I'm sure you not only uphold, but also enforce your board's policy. Why disregard ours?
