I'd say seeing Clutch and Mastadon was the worst concert I ever went to. Cky was the main band on the bill and they cancelled, now their lead singer is crying over in rehab, good.

Iron Maiden and Dio at Roseland-7/7/98 Dio opened and kicked ass. Then Maiden came on and they were awful. Blaze Bailey was still singing for them and 95% of the songs in the set were from records he sang on. When it got to the point where they did 6 or 7 newer songs in a row,the crowd started chanting "DIO...DIO...DIO".

I know its not a concert, but I saw Sam Kinneson in the early nineties when he was out of control. Well he jackie the jokeman and the outlaws of comedy open for him. They all sucked ass.

Kinneson was so pissed and fucked up, he came on stage and screamed at the crowd for about 45 minutes telling us we were pieces of shit to treat his guys like that and then stormed off the stage.

This was at the Westbury Music fair on Long Island. The show sucked so bad and the venue was so embarassed that we actually got refunds. Now that I think about it, it was probably about 1988 or so.

i belive it was back in 2001 when i saw korn. they didnt sound that great and realy didnt even interact with the audience at all. Worst was when i seen BLS 2004 at ozzfest. What a bunch of boring fucks. the have some fucking great music but my god they were boing as shit. i was actualy falling asleep at there show. The strange thins is that back in 2001 i saw them at a small venue for only $5 and play an all acustic show for 40 min in chicago and was one of the best concerts i been to.

The worst I ever saw was the Rober Plant/Jimmy Page "No Quarter" Tour way back in the day. They were amazing, but the opening act, Rusted Root, sucked ass!!! I've never seen a band get booed off the stage at a major show like that before or since. The lead singer/hippie was a guy who looked about 6'3"/150 lbs. wearing no shirt or shoes, maroon crushed velvet pants, and a cloth vest. . . yech!!! He had the whole tree-hugger look going-on and kept dancing around this ugly hag who played the washboard!!! Double-yech!!!:icon_mad:

You sound a little overly critical of the singer's wardrobe there.
Royal Crown Revue(or Amazing Royal Crowns, wind up mixing them up usually) are pretty bad, and made me almost miss the Dropkick's set because a friend of mine and I wanted to get there late enough to not have to sit through their awful set.
Also, they didn't suck, but Gwar was quite underwhelming when I saw them. Though that was after years of build up of 'How great their show is'

It was just too much of a reach for the 60's hippie-look. . . either that or he was seriously a diehard treehugger. . . either way, it was just creepy seeing this big albatross of a guy flapping-around Rupp Arena barefoot playing weird-ass folk instruments. Everything they did sounded like Dream Academy or some other faggot band. . . for a long time I literally cringed whenever I heard their name or read album reviews for them.

I saw journey and foreigner back in 99... Foreigner was horrendous. We saw them a few monthes later thinking it was a fluke or a problem with the sound system. Nope, still sucked. Best part was, the lead singer Lou Graham was wearing the same $5 russell t-shirt my husband had on. Looks like his finances did as well as his voice.

Ugh, I hate to admit this....
Beach Boys 1987 Scranton Municiple Stadium
Judy Tenuda was the opening act...got booed off stage and shae screamed SCRANTON SUCKS! and walked off stage midway through her set.
The Boys were totally sung out and a few were off key..I think Stamos was in the band then..

Small band: Big Top Low. Me and a few others went to see a band at the Chance cause we were trying to talk to one guy about leaving his band and be our singer (didn't work out). His band was the closer and Big Top Low was one of the openers. They came out on stage wearing silver cheesy 50's spaceman suits wearing hard hats. They then proceeded to put buddah statues on the sides of the stage with hard hats on them as well. They started playing and the music was horrible. Noone was cheering for them and we actually sat down in the pit. Then I guess they had 2 fans who ran into the pit and started moshing with each other....just them noone else... then they grabbed the singers bullhorn...yes bullhorn and started screaming randomly. At that point we left the pit and went by the bar and watched some vampire movie till they finished.....so bad.... so bad...

More well known band: Monster Magnet. I didn't mind the music but on stage they were just a bunch of douches and didn't sound that great. They also don't respong too well to the crowd chanting "Monster Faggot" at them.... tee hee

back in the late 70's i went to see bad company with paul rodgers. they came on stage 45 minutes late, played for 40 minutes then said if you want to here the hits, buy a ticket for tomorrows show. that was the most pathetic form of oppritunism i had ever seen. aside from hoo hoo's shilling his ventures on radio ad nausism

I thought Mastodon rocked when I saw them live. It was the first time I had ever heard of them, and I was pretty impressed.

I saw The Deftones open for the Summer Sanitarium tour a few years ago. I think the suck anyway, but their set was a loud combination of nonsensical bass rumble and feedback.

Linkin Park was on the same show that I mentioned above. I can't stand Linkin Park, so it was fun for me to watch them just play a mediocre show and beg the crowd to get energetic after every song. I also remember hearing "Alright, we're gonna kick this reanimation style!" followed by silence from the crowd.

saw the electric six "danger danger (high voltage" last night in brooklyn. not a big fan but i got in for free. anyway, worst fucking concert i ever saw. these guys were a bunch of hacks. so the question is, what's the worst show you ever saw?

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. I thought the concert was great. The second band was a bit hacky because of the french thing but their music rocked as well. They did a great french cover of "these boots are made for walking". As for the electric six... what you saw last night was their own stage show. I'm not sure why you call them hacky. was it the lead singers shitty dance moves or the music? If you feel it was the singers moves they are done on purpose to be shitty. He was doing thriller moves out of sinc with the rest of the band. I'm not a super huge fan of theirs but i saw them two years ago at the siren music festival and they stole the show. that is why i went to see them the other day. If you are arguing about the music then I can't fight back. its either what you like or what you don't like. I personally like their music. It's fun to listen to. Just dont take them too seriously.

I wasn't expecting much in the first place. Besides for the music aspect the girls in the crowd were good looking and the bartender on the far end of the bar was smoking hot. The hotest polish girl i've seen ever and she had that cute little accent.

As for the worst concert I've ever seen... Catch 22 in January of 2003 (i think) at irving plaza. The show had no vibe and the highlight of the show was an opening band dividing the audience in two and naming each side two stupid hell names and then having them basically mosh/fight like it was braveheart or something. That isn't saying much. People were raving to me about Catch 22. After that concert i was completely turned off to them.

Oh and Starsailor sucks live and on record. I'll never forget this. They were playing on binghamton university's campus at an outdoor thing outside of main venue. Basically playing for the line outside. I forget the lineup but it was Starsailor outside and the big band inside was Nickleback. So Starsailor starts their first song and it goes like this... "they say you have your daddy's eyes, your daddy was an alcoholic". The crowd burst into laughter. I've never seen that at a concert before. Then we started mocking them with freebird chants. And the bassist decided he had to sit down the whole time. They deserved what they got.

sounds of the underground tour last year, like 10 bands played at the fest and i liked like 3 of them , the sound was awful for all the bands, it was hot as balls all day, i came home with blisters on my face from the sun.

i cant think of any club shows or arena shows that were bad , but festivals always suck

warped tour i've been too like 3 times and i think once it was alright, theres always too many people and 30 bands , more then half you never know and its always like 100 degrees out

I saw Nevermore one time and Warrel Dane was real fucked up on something either heroin or booze. He didn't sound great and they wound up playing the whole Dreaming Neon Black album. You could tell Jim Sheppard was pissed, especially when Warrel bumped into his bass and Warrel had some of his hair caught in it. Then they ended with "Battle Angels" and Warrel had some guy from the audience sing a couple of lines, and the guy sounded better than he did.
A close second would be the two times I saw Rage Against the Machine and the Wutang Clan. Wutang Caln live sucks ass. They had like 15 guys on stage at one time, all trying to rap at the same time. They would start a song, then a couple of minutes into it, start another one.

One of my favorite 80's band was Dokken. I saw them at PNC in NJ with some mix of Slaughter, Motley Crue, Poison, Cinderella Etc...

Dokken sucked "In case you haven't realized it..we are a heavy metal band!" Are you really?? "I want everyone to get up because I'm Don Dokken and I told you to!"

I didn't even recognize the songs they were playing..Slaughter sucked just as bad but I never liked them.

Poison, Crue and Cinderella were all very good

surprisingly I saw winger open for one of them and they were good as well

I saw Aerosmith on the Nine Lives tour around '98 at the Pepsi Arena in Albany. Good show, but Candlebox opened for them and sucked for their full 30 minutes.

Saw Fountains of Wayne at the Landmark Theater a couple years ago in Syracuse. They had about four opening bands, and all of them blew. It was awful. I think one was "The Last American Virgins," and you could tell they were going to blow just by their rotten name.

Stone Temple Pilots at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, prob'ly '96... Had the worst sound I've ever heard for a "big" rock 'n' roll band. Crash Test Dummies opened for them and to add to the poor sound was their poor performance.

The WORST performance I've ever seen was The Cure. What a letdown, they were one of my favorite bands and they simply stunk up the joint (Giants Stadium, part of a triple-bill with The Pixies (pretty good) and Love and Rockets (fucking outstanding), The Cure headlined). I think this was in '89.

Worstest concert ever was Pearl Jam in Reno sometime back in the 90's. I made the mistake of buying into their fake revolution, and paid good money to be groped just getting past security, as well as inside by all of the beligerent fans. Eddie Vedder was equally beligerent on stage and they sounded awful, as well as the opening bands (one was Mudhoney, can't remember the other).

Fiery Furnaces stink live. They played an hour long medley of their songs, most of which I couldn't even recognize. I'm not the ass who wants the live show to sound just like the CD, but I would hope that it would be at least pleasureable. I gave props to the rhythm section for maintaining a pace like that, but it was just intolerable to listen to and a major letdown.

The worst experience had to be Kenny G back in the 80's when I was in high school. I went with a guy I really liked at the time, hoping to impress him I guess. He was really into the G at the time (I know, I beat myself up for years afterwards for this), so I tagged along. The place was filled with yuppie scum who represented everything I despised, and to quote a great man, I wanted to bite their collective faces. The band was technically proficient, so I can't argue with that. The shrill soprano sax thing still makes me shudder decades later. But it was my choice, I gotta live with that shame.

I have to say Bruce Springsteen
saw him at the Eagles stadium in Phila circa 2002
we were stiing in the club level which is great for football but a little removed for a concert sound was not great. open air stadium
he played alot of obscure songs I didnt know, way to many of them slow
I guess for a devoted fan of bruce who has seen him 50 times the variety is cool, but for me it was the first time I saw him. I wanted all the hits.
In conclusion, ya gotta be up close for a good concert

My worst was fairly recent. It was one of those festival tours where they have 10 bands playing, and then another stage for the lesser known bands...the usual stuff, now-and-days. The Killers were the headliners, and they were far from "Killer" (wakka wakka.) Modest Mouse stunk up the joint, with their rambling 15 minute jam songs. The sound was all fucked up on the vocals and drums also. And, like someone else here said...it was hot as balls. The only good part of the concert was The Arcade Fire. I had never heard of them, and they were surprisingly good.

The whole thing was sponsored by some online arcade company, and their ad ran about 4 billion times on the overhead screens. They gave out seat cushions as promotional items, which was a huge mistake. About 30 min before the end of the concert, the cushions started flying around the stadium, so much so that it looked like a snow storm. A bunch of people were cut by the sharp plastic edges, and the big screen over the stadium had about 300 of them trapped inside of it's cage.

This concert sucked a dog's dick. This is coming from someone who has seen Cher live (no homo). :action-sm

Got dragged by my brother with my 2 daughters to see *cough* FAGGOT *cough* Matchbox 20. If the music wasn't diarrhea inducing enough, it was outdoors during one of the worst lightning storms I've ever seen. This ampitheater Sleep Train Ampitheater, Marysville, CA) sits alone in the middle of open fields and about 10 minutes after they got onstage there was a horrendous downpour for the rest of the show. But the fun part was the lightning strikes. Every 3 minutes BOOOOM! - right next to the ampitheater. You could see the strikes hitting the ground. And of course the band wasn't gonna let the lightning stop them so they continued on. Since I was riding with my bro and him family, I washeld hostage til the end of the show.
