Stylus Magazine is releasing their top 100 videos of all time this week. 81-100 today...and I think they'll countdown throughout this week. Cool thing is that they added a youtube video to view each full length video.

Long time Joel fans constantly whine about how little respect their pride and joy gets from critics, but his video for “Pressure” clearly demonstrates why this critical snubbing will be the case always and forever. The most ostentatious and shamelessly over-dramatic song ever not to be written by someone with the last name Steinman or performed by someone with the last name Loaf, director Russell Mulcahy complements “Pressure” with a video so over the top it makes the song sound like Music for Airports by comparison. Walls that suck in and imprison little kids, Parallax View-style FLASHY SCREENS WITH MEANINGFUL WORDS AND SCARY IMAGES, and an apparent extreme mistrust of water—nothing is too much for Joel or Mulcahy. And so while critics can continue to thumb their nose at Joel’s artistic gracelessness, his fans can continue to rejoice in the knowledge that their beloved is totally unafraid to look like an idiot for their entertainment.
Never knew there was a video for Pressure. Wow.... what a piece of garbage.

The NIN - Closer video should be higher...I love that video...the unedited version, that is.
Some other ones I like:
Nirvana - In Bloom
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
Foo Fighters - Big Me (my sig of course)
U2 - One
Weezer - Buddy Holly
Cracker - Low
R.E.M. - Crush w/Eyeliner (another Spike Jonze)
Breeders - Cannonball
Beck - Loser
Chris Isaak - Wicked Game (who was that hot piece of ass in that video?)
Damn, 61-80 on their list is less to be desired...Nirvana #77 but Outkast Hey Ya #72?

Maybe I am out of the loop, but I haven't even heard of a lot of those bands. Looked like mostly Brit-Pop and hip-hop shit.

Those puppets had their own show on British TV for years called "Spitting Image". A lot of the old videos are floating around torrent sites, and you might be able to find some episodes on ScrewTube.

HMM I'm an older person and I do remember the first day Mtv went on Live. Video killed the radio star. God dam I am old! Has to be in the top 100 It was the very first video to be shown. Let me clarify for the Tony Technicals. It was the first Video to be caled just that. I know many others filmed their music and made short videos/movies of themselves in concert.

I'm too lazy to look, but do they have Californication from RHCP? That was one of the coolest videos I've ever seen.
