I thought both episodes where great tonight. Hey did anyone else notice Pussy in the 2nd episode. Yeah Pussy was in the second episode. After Livias funeral back at Tonys
house Tony was in the hallway with Furio and Paulie he opens a cabinet with mirrors on the doors and Pussy was in the mirror. Next weeks episode looks good i cant wait.

Yeah well Janice is a cunt and all i got to say watch what happens to her next week. I love it when they flash back to Tonys childhood. I was at Satriales in Kearney that day when they flimed that scene. That other butcher in the pork store was James Gandolfini's real life father.

No i dont think Christopher is gonna fuck up big time that is just his characters personality. Another thing i noticed when i just rewatched the episode was in the pizza palor scene where Jackie Jr picks a fight with that guy. The guy was none other than former Howard Stern intern Steve Grillo.

I got a feeling NY might try to cause a problem with Tony about his attacks. Rumor is that Johnny Sack is moving into Tonys neighborhood either next week or so and could it be that Carmine may want him to keep an eye on Tony.

Ok i think i just figured something out about this season. I think the reason Johnny Sack has moved into NJ is cause NY is gonna try and make a move on Tony so they can take over his construction business. Ok my reasons remember the 3rd episode of this season Carmine from NY was asking Tony what he has heard on the Newark Riverfront project, Then last week Johnny Sack moves into NJ but says he moved cause his wife wanted to move here. NY is partners with Tony in the construction business and since this Newark Project has 25 million dollars involved i think they are getting greedy and want more than there fair share. I could be wrong but i am guessing.

Heh heh bye bye wire-tap fuck the FEDS. I think my construction theory is unfolding infront of our eyes. What a fucking blow Uncle Junior has cancer shit i hope he dont die. That other poor prick who took the golf club off the head that was sad. Fucking shit is brewing this is gonna be the best season yet.

FOFOLINA
03-26-2001, 01:51 AM
OK I will say this it was so sad that bacala had to die like that.... and the Junior thing I dont know but for some reason I think he is doing a guilt trip... I hope I am so worng at that cause of the fact he seems sneaky... and yes your theory is working so well

imoverherenow
03-26-2001, 05:06 PM
Uncle Junior is not faking that he has cancer. It was said that his medical condition would be getting worse this season.
I just hope that wasnt his funeral everyone was at in the season finale shot a few weeks back here in Jersey City.

She is a piece of ass. It's hysterical that once Tony confirmed with his sister that Ralphie is a sick F who doesn't bang chicks and just lets them do weird shit to him, he had no problem slamming it into her again because he wasn't necessarily "following" Ralphie.

I got a big kick of the standoff between Tony and Carmela. He knew that she knew he was tagging another chick. She knew that he knew that she knew he was tagging another chick. He knew that she took the cash out of the bag of seed. She knew that he knew that she took the cash out of the bag of seed.
She kept egging him on, but he didn't want to bring anything up. It was hysterical.

give credit to the SOPRANO'S this season for tying up loose ends from last season. here are a few examples:

1. Tony killing the russian mob boss, because he found out what paulie and chris did to his best buddy.

2. Tony finding and torturing that scumbag who ----- Dr. Melfi.

3. Meadow's college roomate (the depressed fat blonde chick) committing suicide because she couldnt deal with the pressures of NYU.

'Sopranos' New Season: The Rise of Johnny Sack (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,101658,00.html)

I have a little "Sopranos" information for you. Are you ready?

The new season won’t begin airing until March 2004, and the episodes are not finished yet. According to my sources, the cast and crew do not know exactly how the new season will end.

“No one but David Chase has seen the script for Episode 13,” says my source. I could tell you his/her name. But then you’d have to be killed.

“The main thing about this season is that we see the rise of Johnny Sack.” Johnny is played in a wise and world-weary fashion by the understated Vince Curatola. “This is really his season.”

If so, expect the new "Sopranos" to be more about the mob than ever before. You may recall Johnny Sack almost went to war last year over barbed remarks made about his overweight wife.

Curatola, by the way, spends his free time harmonizing as a vocalist with the rock group Chicago.

Meanwhile, as we all know by now, Furio -- played by our old pal Federico Castelluccio -- does not return from Italy. “He hasn’t worked on the show at all this season,” my spy says. It’s just as well; his flirtation with Carmela would probably have gotten Furio killed.

On the other hand, even though he’s been touring with Bruce Springsteen, Steve Van Zandt is definitely back as the wryly funny Silvio. The show has been shooting around him, leaving “spaces” where Van Zandt will be fit in when he returns from the E Street Band’s work shortly.

As far as reports went that Dominic Chianese’s character of Uncle Junior going to that big family dinner in the sky, they were all apparently unfounded. Uncle Junior, a show favorite, will be back and as prickly as ever.

Goddamn it!! Furio was the best character on the show. ("There's a bee ona you hat!!") One of the best scenes ever was when he tore up that massage parlor. They should keep him and dump the Melfi character and the entire therapy storyline. Everytime an episode gets interesting they bog it down with that shit. They should stick to the mob stuff.

Fu to the Sopranos for taking forever to show new shows and when new shows are shown, like the 4th season, there were only 12-13!!! new episodes. This is completely unacceptiable for such a great show. There should be atleast 20 new shows per season. So this is for the writers/producers/directors of the sopranos for not having enough ideas to create more shows or being too lazy to create more shows.

There is so much potential for a countless number of storylines considering the extremely large number of well-developed characters on the show. They have too many story lines that are dropped (like the Russian guy Paulie and Chris were chasing through the woods) or that they just waste a bunch of time with and then give them a shitty ending (Feurio & Carmella).

Yeah I really want to know what ever became of that Russian guy! Somehow, I think that Paulie might actually go over to the NY crew and leave Tony this season. He's getting real pissed off with everyone lately. I gotta get HBO hooked up, I keep forgetting to do that!

Last summer when I was down the shore in in Jersey I walked into FoodTown on Route 35 and James Gandolfini was waiting in line! I couldn't believe my eyes. The guy is HUGE too in real life. It turns out he has a summer place in Brielle (which is right next to Point Pleasant across the bridge) but he always hangs out in Point Pleasant because he always spent his summers there in Point Pleasant or Bricktown growing up.

I was laughing my ass off when Paulie and Chris were in the parking lot in A.C. and the waiter came out... and Paulie shot him after Chris busted the bottle on his head. :biggrinfl

After that they made up with each other, I guess the moral of the story is, if you and your friend are having a fight just whack someone together and all is well again. :shoot3:

paulie is dead this season, if anyone remembers the season finale where tony has a daydream after he eats the bad indian theres a scene where him an pauly walk into what looks like an empty warehouse and he shoots them while sitting at a table, in this seasons trailer they show that same scene, dont know if anyone else caught this

1- sopranos prove that men wearing wife beaters always funny

I agree.

If anyone has seen "Casino", "Whole nine yards", "Bronx Tale" you know: When someone comes to you as a friend they are usually just about to kill you.

I think Paulie will try to whack Chris, unsuccessfully, and that will indeed get him hacked to peices by Uncle Tony.

Tonight's episode was GREAT. Personally, I loved how Tony decided to get Feech out of the picture. EVERYONE watching it expected him to get capped, but when they cut to the shot of him riding in the bus back to prison, I started cracking up.

The part with Anthony Jr. was pretty good. I relived some old memories there..

They could have had some more fun with the part where they capped the lady shylock...

I think Chris' chick is going to get caught being a rat next week, or at least some suspicions are going to arise. A couple of people are going to get capped, I just hope she is not one of them. She is sexy as hell and I would miss seeing that cleavage every episode. :)

Poor Carmella, that kid is such a little prick. But, I do remember going through that exact faze with my mother. I tell her I love her everyday because of that shit. I was the same little prick when I was 15-18.

Buscemi's character has to get crazy. I want to see him flip-out like in Fargo. I was watching a movie today with him and Denis Leary. They were detectives. Buscemi was kind of questioning his own manhood, but always stressed that he was not gay. There was one part where Leary's character was feeling depressed and Buscemi hugged him and told him he was there for him, the next thing you know a guy pulls up in a truck and yells out, "Hey, why don't you give him a kiss, you fag" Buscemi flies off the handle, take his gun out and runs up to the guy yelling, "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU SAY YOU FAT PIECE OF SHIT!" It had me laughing for a good 90 seconds. Especially because his character was really quiet and subdued, and then when someone questions his manhood he fucking flips, it was hysterical. The movie was called Double Whammy (2001) (http://imdb.com/title/tt0250347/) (It's on again on Thursday 1st of April on HBO 2 at 12:15 AM)

Sorry for all that extra info, I just wanted to clarify how funny it is when Mr. Pink flips out. :)

I can't wait for next week...

Well they have to do something with her CHARACTER.. MEADOW has done just about nothing for a season and a half now.. She has been each episode for what? 2 minutes if that much.. Here's what I see.........David Chase spent years writing what was supposed to be a one-shot, 13 episode series for HBO. To everyone's surprise, it was a huge hit. Now, this guys has to come up with fresh and exciting material in a much shorter time frame. My opinion is that he shot his load with season one, and has basically given us "writer's block" crap since. Season 3 was a complete joke, and then all the actors from the show were saying "Well, just wait for season 4, it's gonna be awesome".......well, they lied to me, it sucked worst than the last season. Now, he's bringing in established actors to liven up the mob action, but mostly all I've seen is the same old soap opera bullshit.

I'm not saying that there should be a wacking every episode, but the main focus should be a mob activity, and there's not enought of that going on. One example.........there should have been an all out mob war with the Russian mob over Pauly trying to whack the Russian mob bosses' right hand man.........what the fuck happened to him in the pine barrens ?? We all know he escaped by hot-wiring Pauly's car, and probably went back to his boss to tell him what happened. Tony was laundering shit loads of money thru him, and this story line could have lasted for months........but no, it's forgotten, because Chase can't write consistantly. Total bullshit. Carmella fucking the school counseler ??? Why didn't he have "Food-ee-o" ( as Pussy used to call him ), have a secret affair with her while he's trying to avoid being whacked by Tony. If you're gonna do soap opera shit, then this scenario is much more exciting that what being offered now.

I wholeheartedly, unconditionally, unequivocally, unquestionably agree.
I'm Italian and we (my family and I) watch this show religiously on Sunday night and then yap about it Monday on the phone.. We don't evan bother talking about it any more, it's such a disappointment It's a friggin' borefest . Now it's just a warm-up for Deadwood. I love that show.

This Sunday I could have sworn I was watching The O.C. instead of The SOAPranos. Where's all the mob tension? What about some gov't/mob collusion? Instead we get more psychological BS. Uncle Jr weeping like Butters w/ a throwing star in his head, Tony having tea w/ some wrinkled up old hag like Cartman having tea w/ Artimer Cloud Frog and Miss Pretty Pants and flashbacks about what a prick Tony's (Arte Lange lookalike) dad really was.

My guess is that David Chase is trying to bore us into not wanting another season of this crap so he can take his Brinks Truck full of money to a tropical isle and drink Pina Coladas till his shit smells like coconut (which is more than I can say about the writing this year.)

Either that or he's taking away ANY redeeming qualities of ANY of these characters so that he can kill them off without any backlash from the fan base.

There were so many plotlines in earlier seasons that could have evolved into something more interesting. Chase left so many unfinished threads that you have to feel cheated.

Steve Buschemi is the only interesting character left on the show, besides David Lee Roth.

Deadwood rules, Swearingen is the new and improved Tony Soaprano. No mommy issues, no daddy issues, no spousal issues, no children issues, no uncle issues. These things used to make Tony's character interesting but now they're just burdensome and boring.

i have to take the opposite opinion here. i actually enjoy the psychological aspects of the show. the show isnt just about the mob but about how complicated a character tony soprano is. his conscience is examined. his relationship with his father, his wife, his mother, his friends. i thought it was interesting to see how he's starting to realize his father was just as much a bastard as his mother was.

sure i enjoy the mob aspects, but i'm in the minority here enjoying the way the show examines the family like no other mafia based movie ever has.

Ok I know I was asking for Meadow to have more screen time but OH MY GOD!!! can she over act anymore with this argument scene... He should have slapped her just to shut her up.If you've ever been involved w/ a psycho broad or your girl is on the rag and has screwy hormones for the week, you'll realize that she wasn't over-acting. In fact I thought she was right on. It brought back too many bad memories, which is why I wanted to strangle her!

I think it was the best episode this season. FINALLY WE GET SOME RESOLUTION w/ Tony confessing to the Doc about the fight w/ his mother and the panic attack keeping him from being w/ Buschemi when he got popped. (whew, talk about stream of conciousness writing).

In any case, I know I'm going to be pissed off again this season because there are too many conflicts brewing and I KNOW none of them will get resolved.
For example:
1) Chris being jealous of Tony (Buschemi)
2) Meadow's boyfriend and the gay Vito
3) Tony Soprano vouching for Tony (Buschemi) to the NY boss.

And what the hell is w/ Vito being a homo anyway? I mean I fully expected the Spanish broad w/ the thong and the tat on her ass to be blowing the security guard. What the F? For a second I thought I was watching 6 Feet Under. Can you image Vito (the actor, I don't know his name) when he read the script for this show? He goes from being a hard ass mob soldier to being an undercover homo. Quite a change in character development!

And an aside, It was hilarious when Paulie told the kid to clean the shit off his tires then realized it was Meadow's boyfriend! Uncle Paulie my ass!

I read this on the HBO board about the Sopranos' and thought it was an interesting point... the bear... does the bear signify Tony S, - meaning he comes & goes at the house as he pleases and no one can do anything about it. Carmella calls the cops & DNR and they basically do nothing about this bear showing up in her back yard. Then nothing about the bear... then she's on the phone trying to find a lawyer, and low & behold, they show the bear again. This dumb bear hasn't been shown since like the first or second episode then all of a sudden he shows up again. Carmella drains the pool because Tony S. keeps showing up to swim whenever he feels like it.... interesting point don't you think?

I think that was actually a reference to The Godfather, when Sonny tells Tessio to hide the gun somewhere Mikey can find it. "I dont want my little brother coming outa there with just his dick in his hand". Then in the Sopranos they show Tony looking behind the tiolet for a gun like in the Godfather.

Absolute CRAP !!!! WTF ??? This just goes to prove my theory the Chase is all out of ideas. There are so many story lines that could be developed, but instead we get 20 plus minutes of bullshit....and then, Chris enters and says Tony B. shot Phil and says he's fucked. Tony says were all fucked, but then calls Carmella to talk ?? How about calling your crew and trying to figure out what to do next....you know, mob stuff ???? And to all those people who say "Oh, you just want to see whack after whack, and no story line", well FU. Imagine The Godfather I & II where every other scene Michael is fucking this and that, and Kay is cheating with Fredo, and a fucking raccoon keeps raiding the trash bins in the backyard, and you'll see where I'm coming from.

Yeah, all three episodes of it.I saw the first episode of 'Joey'. Frasier it is not. Hope it gets better or it's DOA.
As for Adriana, shame she was off'ed. Would have been great to see her get the crap beat out of her a few more times. How funny was it that she was trying to help, yet was constantly being chocked and abused by the one she tried to help. Who says 'Soprano's' doesnt have comedy.

I didnt think she was hot at all (stereotypical God awful annoying Jersey whitetrash skank), but she was trying to do right and get out of it yet got sucked in and killed for it. Then again, girls like that are annoying and disturbing, so I suppose the writers know best.

Chris ratted her out to Tony. Glad Tony beat the shit out of him. If anything, they should have wacked Paulie Walnut's from his Season 4 exploits of trying to get in other families.

I don't know if I like this show anymore....it was cool when the kids were younger and Tony was "balls to the walls" and chris was comming up in rank. The reason I say this is because I have the first few seasons on dvd and haven't really watched the last three years too much,,after watching last nights it made me sick to see her get killed= very disturbing.......The first few season's glorified the mob which is what I loved about it, not it just shows how fucked up everything gets and how the mobsters are sick fucks.......I can't believe Adriana the hot chick is dead she was my favorite charictor next to christopher.::hammer:

I just realized that this morning. That's a pretty good reason. I think a lot of people would probably still make a point of tuning in if they aired it next week, but waiting a week might be a better move. Hell, there should be something else to talk about next week anyway--at least for the people on this board. 8 days . . .

Johnny Sack was on Wally and the Keeg on ESPN Radio this afternoon (around 6-ish). He was very careful not to give anything away for the next episode, though.

They are showing the last episode in 2 weeks because next weekend is MEMORIAL DAY weekend and there will be very few people around to watch it.

droogsteve
05-25-2004, 12:11 PM
I thought it was a great episode. It had some great subtle scenes too. Like Chris seeing the white trash family in the gas station and realizing he was seeing what his future in witness protection with Ade would be like. Or when Tony says to Carmela: "I swear to you on our children that my midlife-crisis problems will no longer intrude on you anymore". He doesn't promise that he won't cheat, just that it won't intrude. And she accepts it. She sells her soul for $600,000.

The only thing that sucks is that they'll probably start the war between Tony's crew and Johnnny Sack in the season finale and we'll have to wait another 18 months to see what happens.

I used to really love the show up until that fourth season. It was pure garbage. After every episode I would be shaking my head in disgust. Season 5 was ok but they lost me once they decided they could pull this shit where they film a 13 episode season once ever 3 years.

This is a bit OT, but does anyone know if they're making more Curb Your Enthusiasm? HBO is the worst with releasing new episode of their Original Series, and there's no info on their site about new CYE's.

Mike H

Supposedly, CYE comes back in July.

The creator of The Sopranos has said that he would like to do one more season after this one, but HBO has to offer them the right deal (and soon).

Falcone was on CBS, not NBC, I believe. It got very poor ratings.

Once Sopranos comes to an end, I am canceling HBO. I can't justify keeping it, seeing how one of the two shows I pay to watch (Carnivale) was cancelled and the other (Sporanos) is on it's way out. I like Entourage but don't think it's worth keeping HBO for.

I know people will ask me "what about Deadwood" but, to be honest, I've only seen a few mintues of one show and I hate joining in late in the series. Don't have the patience to watch all the episodes ON DEMAND either...

Both the wife and I are huge soprano's fans and everytime they take this 18 month break we swear we wont watch, but we always do. It's just a pain in the ass, you need to watch the old episodes to make sure you are all caught up. I really dont think they take care of their fans properly by doing that. I will say that I am really anticpating the next season, the finished the last great with Adrian getting killed. There was already some animosity between Tony and Christopher, this could lead to a big rift in the family. Especially since I think Michael Imperioli has really stepped up the acting on the show (possibily better than Gandolfini). By the way, I thought the cast signed up for 2 more seasons.

LilEvilGrin
06-04-2005, 10:47 AM
the reason for so many delays between seasons are a few.. contract negotiations(sp), Eddie Falco (carmella) was fghtin cancer, AJ got locked up in real life,James Gandolfini went thru a divorce.... The Sopranos is an awesome show.. they just need to get their shit behind the scenes together a wee bit more

The one on prison violence was very cool.

Sopranos has to end with Tony's murder.

It ain't gonna happen. I saw an interview with Chase recently where he said while by everyone's plans this upcoming season is the last, the story could continue if they wanted it to. I'd say it's more likely to see a movie down the line after the series ends then a seventh season.

Mike H
06-04-2005, 12:45 PM
None of that stuff really had little to nothing to do with the long break.

Personally, I look at it this way though: As long as the series remains top notch, I am OK with it. I would rather 18 month breaks and the series being of the highest caliber than having the show come back every year and the quality slips as a result. If the long breaks help the writers stay creative, then fine. Maybe some network shows should try the same thing too.

Mike H
06-04-2005, 04:30 PM
I didn't say that. Everything you stated was true, but none were responsible for the long break. They had a huge break before last season too; that is just what they do now. I guess when you are as successful as that show is, you can get away with that.

Anyways, I remember reading an interview with Chase a year or two ago and he was saying that with the success the show was having, as well as the success of many of the actors in the show (re: Gandolfini), having extended hiatuses is the best solution to keep everyone involved. Perhaps not-so-coincidentally, they started doing this after HBO was able to come to an agreement with Gandolfini for a new contract for something like 20 million dollars a season. Up until that point, he was threatening to leave the show to pursue other projects.

As I read through this thread it kinda dawned on but, the Soprano's could do another season and pick it later at any time. It could be 5 years from now and they could just spring it on everyone. It just seems like that type of show.

Season 4 wasn't all that great because it was a lot more of the Tony - Carmela storyline.

With the way that Season 5 ended (Johnny Sack's family going down) really sets up this season to wind up being a huge war and bloodletting with Little Carmine coming back up and trying to get his hands into the Esplanade and the Soprano crew trying to take it all for themselves...there are going to be bodies everywhere, Fat Vito Spatafore sucking cock, Meadow getting married, and you also still have to wonder about Ray being wired (the guy they had the birthday party for in season 5)...it's definately going to be interesting / exciting

that whole dream sequence episode was Season 5...the episode before he goes and wacks Tony B.

As for the fruitening of Furio....WHAT THE FUCK??? That was the worst moves EVER...I wish there was some kind of an appearance, even if it's just long enough to see him die. I just finished up watching the 5th season over again. I like the 5th season, it was even better the second time. I can't wait for the new season. it is really gonna suck when this show ends.

anyone else watching Sopranos on Demand - they already aired the first 3 seasons - watched them all in a span of like a month, why the fuck arent they putting season 4 already up there its only a month away i still gotta see seasons 4 and 5 again before then i fergot everything

I got started on the show during the week before Christmas. Had never seen it before, and they only had season one On Demand. I immediately got hooked, and got all the seasons on DVD, then tore through them all in a little under two weeks.

Thank god for On Demand...though I STILL haven't found Norton's One Night Stand available....

Does Tony die of OLD AGE, in this season?

I mean F'n DAVID CHASE with these 2 year breaks between 10 or 12 episode seasons drives me crazy.

The Nine Inch Nails music was a great touch.

Sweet.....frame by frame, looks like things are going to get really REALLY fucked up.

On another note. Been watching more On Demand lately. I think it's just me, but I cannot stand most of the women on this show. Sure, there's a couple that are tolerable, but it seems that most of the women are just whiny fucking cunts.

I'd like to be able to tolerate Meadow...she's hot...but I'm really hoping she gets caught in some hellacious crossfire...if nothing else than to shut her the fuck up. Adriana dying was great...now if they'd just show Janice and Carmella the same courtesy.

Blech.

Have a family member that works at Rockerfeller Center. I think it was last week and he said that the Sopranos were taping something in the resturant by the skating rink. I don't know if this was for the show or not.

Looks great. We need to have a viewing thread for the new season.

This can't be the last season, no one on the show has a beter job to go off to. The Last Castle, and 8mm not breakout roles. There are only so many mafia movie to be apart of. Do a real season and keep stick to your fat check.

OK, trailer has got me salivating. I have been netflixing the previous seasons and have been watching like 3-4 episodes a night. When they come back it's going to be hard just watching one episode a week.

I rewatched the dream episode in season 5 and while it is kind of annoying after a while, there are some interesting mob movie and history references. There is the part where Tony is looking for the gun behind the commode (Godfather p1) and a part where he has a copy of the book "The Valachi Papers" in his hand. Valachi was the first prominent "made" mafia member that broke omerta and turned government witness. Little things like this made it kind of interesting.

One thing I have always appreciated about the dream sequences throughout the series is that they almost always are pretty deep in terms of their symbolism and what is going on in Tony's mind at the time. A great deal lot of the themes take on a decidedly Freudian feel and the sequences from season 4 (where he's in the back seat of the car and Carmela's driving) are full of Dali and Wyeth references. It was the dream of the talking fish that prompted him to make certain about Pussy's being flipped in season 2. But I do agree that the majority of an episode being devoted to this can be tiresome.

I also find most of the female characters irritating. I hope Janice gets horribly tortured and killed. Carmela and Adrianna are/were pretty annoying, but Janice just a plain old cunt.

I used to love Paulie, but he has just become a caricature of himself and I fucking hate that when he points at something his pinky sticks out as well as his index finger. Goddamn that pisses me off.

Watching a rerun of the dream episode with Anette Benning right now. What a waste of time ripoff.

I predict Uncle junior, Christopher and Janice being the only Soprano family members to possibly meet their demise this season.
