But I gotta say. Covenant is one of the best death metal-like albums I've heard personally.
Rapture? Hooooly shit.
It blew my mind when I heard it. One of the craziest tunes I'd heard up to that point.
And live? Wow, those guys really do some work.

It's weird because from my point of view, they did death metal very different with the solos and the virtuosity that I didn't see to many other places. Both with spooky ambience thrown in.

yeah they were very diff then any other band at the time, and still have that MA sound, meaning i haven't really hear another DM band that sounds like Morbid Angel

I was never a big MA fan. I think it had to do with the fact that when I met them, Trey was a total cock. Altars of Madness, and Covenant are great, and Gateways to Annihilation blew me away.

God of Emptiness is one of the greatest metal songs ever.
