it may just depend on who's drumming. If they can get Paul Bostaph or Jon Allen, maybe they will.

Goddammit, why can't I live up there. I don't get shit down here. I really wanna get my picture taken with Chuck Billy, as he is probably my all time favorite vocalist.

so take a trip. you can make a weekend out of it... I'm working on getting my boys on the bill. If I can do it, it will probably be like first slot, but that's alright.
:-) You've got time to plan it, Exanimate...if you come up, we can go to FH Riley's while you're here. They're not too far from each other - maybe 20 minutes?

Hmm, my wife and I are looking for something to do around that time (my bday). I may just do it. Also, according to Testament's website, Bostaph is playing drums on all upcoming dates. Damn, I just looked at the exact date again, that is on my birthday.

I think Maiden may be playing here on 10/12...if your wife is into it, you could make it quite a weekend (a long one).

Wife really isn't into metal, but she goes to shows with me. I may have to consider going up there for a weeks vacation, but that could get really expensive.

Looks like a trip to NY is out. Wife has already booked us in a lodge for that weekend in the mountains.

Soooo....Point Blank will be opening the show (last ones added to the show, first ones to play, which means they're going on like 6PM)...

But anyway, the good news is that I now have tickets to the show to sell, which I am prepared to offer at a discounted rate for my wackbag friends The catch? I'll need your warm body to show up at the Donkey at 6. (possible FH Riley's dinner run in between PB and Testament since it's only about 20 minutes away)

Hey lady,

I might just do it. I'm right around the block in West Bab, incidentally. THe problem I have with projecting that far is that I might have exams that fall around then. Keep in touch and we'll figure it out.

They also did Three Days of Darkness from The Gathering.

The show was brilliant. Packed f'n house - THE WAY IT SHOULD BE!

Chuck's vocals over the years have evolved into that deeper growlier style, even when performing the older songs live. Last night, though, they were more true to the original style, which was very cool to experience again. He's such an incredible frontman in every sense.

Alex is the only guitarist who can pretty much bring me to tears with his intensity.

I can never get enough of watching Greg's wirey, scarecrow-like form as he beats the crap out of his bass. From just watching him you'd be amazed that anything remotely musical comes from what he's doing...he's always been one of my favorite bassists because he makes everything look so effortless yet his playing is so distinctive and driving.

Evil Gremlin Eric Peterson has that never ending energy and presence - the occasional full toothed grin appearing through a facefull of hair...

...and then we must thank god for Jon Allen for making those Gathering songs even possible (or do we thank Louie for gracefully bowing out?) I hope Jon can stick around for another Testament album/tour. He's an incredible drummer and a very cool guy.

Highlight for me - Chuck giving me a personal shout out during Over the Wall...a booming "What's up J9!?!" I was pleased as punch!

It's great to see Long Island come out in droves for a real metal show. (shameless plug - point blank kicked ass as the evening's opening act...it's terrible of me that I was outside for most of the other bands - but every time I turned around I'd see another face of someone I've known since high school but haven't seen in years...so I was doing the social butterfly hang)

Great night overall.

Only downside - about half of the bouncers were serious assholes...especially the big dude in the front/center of the stage. Zero stagediving opportunity for the crowd. (not that I do it, but it's fun to watch) The cool ones were very cool, but at one point I saw that big cocksucker bent over coughing and I was actually hoping he was having a heart attackand that I'd get to just stand there and watch him suffer. He pushed me more than once to make me move back, even though I told him I didn't have the power to move an entire crowd by myself (for anyone who doesn't know me, I'm female). Fuckin douche bag. I enjoyed watching him try to kiss the band's ass afterward and get ignored as they came over to talk to the fans.

I can't wait to hear a new Testament album. Hopefully, this happens in my lifetime, but not that dickhead bouncer's.

That's it. Rub salt in the wound.

It is great that they put on such a great show. It is really good to hear that Chuck did amazing on vocals. I have said it over and over again. He is in my mind the best metal frontman ever. He can do so many styles, and does them well. I really do hope that they do another album. I am pissed at myself for not mailing J9 a photo to get autographed, but oh well.

Great that you guys had a good time. Good to see that Pointblank did well also.

Exanimate - it will take longer to do, but if you send me something, I can still have it signed for you. If I was thinking clearly last night and had any time in between the wedding and the show, I would have brought something along for the guys to sign for you.

Anyway - I can 'send out' for the autographs if you like - meaning...mail it to my friend and he'll have the guys sign it for you and send it back to me.

Is that to far removed for you?

ohhhh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I met a guy on the bike trails that said Louis Clemente supposedly lives in Long Beach and he claimed he was just talking to him a little while before.

He does. He lives in Long Beach and deals in fine art. Drives nice cars, supposedly doesn't even own a drum kit anymore.
