What it really shows is respect. In the past someone like her probably would have just ignored OnA and blocked the pest calls. Now there's a realization that OnA are a force and have to be reckoned with.

The reason it was handled differently was because it was never personal to begin with. Race had nothing to do with it. Plus, she never "got up in their face". She was civil and took care of the situation in a professional manner. O&A's jobs were never at risk either. Not sure which show you were listening to. Still not a fan of hers though.

I have to say, it was pretty cool the way she handled it. While I'm still not super-Whoopi fan number 1, I have a lot more respect for her. Also, whooppie explained it perfectly yesterday, she was hired to do a nice show that targeted women. She is a pretty funny comic, but its like any actor(even if they are a comedian first and formost) who is asked to play a part. I respect that because she was honest about it. I mean even though hacky radio is hacky, there is a reason why so many personalities do it. It plays off elements that work. One of the many reasons I love OAJ so much is that they are honest about it and play around with 'what works' in radio but they always clue the listner in which I like. again whopi isn't being hypocritical because she was contracted to do a nice radio show targeting women. Unlike Howard or the boys, she is a name that doesn't come from radio, so for her this is like any acting gig, kind of. It would be cool if XM picked her up to do a weekly thing where she could do what she wants

Who cares if it was planned or not. How often does a person being shredded appear on the show that is tearing them down. They said numerous times they had no personal beef with her, they were just goofing on the premise of her show and riffing on her dialogue.
I don't know about you fucks, but if I was the object of the ridicule she received, I wouldn't want to sit in the same room as the people that delivered it. That took a lot of moxie! She's a helluva dame!
