GAME ON!!!...

The 97 Rock people seem to have fired the first salvo, and it hit Opie's friend Shredd on his show TODAY.

First off, when they opened up thier phone lines during their 1st hour of radio, they mentioned "their phones are exploding for some reason"... classic signs of some sort of attack.

First caller was "Brian", and I give Shredd and Ragan credit for taking the call even though it said on the screen that "Brian thinks S&R suck". The more I listen to the audio, the more I think "Brian" sounds like he could be in the radio business, probably a 97 Rock staffer.

I would like to say S&R were able to handle the abrasive callers... but they didn't have the same chops O&A have. This is like someone picking on your kid brother... we, as pests, need to take care of this situation.

There were two callers in total, and Shredd hinted it could be the same guy with a black character voice as the second caller. I cut the audio to the last 11 minutes of the first hour, that includes BOTH calls and what was said in between them.

I realize it is 11 minutes of brutal radio... and you will never get those 11 minutes back again. However in those minutes, the one guy says, "You all guys got bumped for two other retards in the morning". That's right... calling O&A retards!

Both these guys calling, definately had radio savy... and they blind sided the S&R show.

On Monday morning, Larry Norton (and company) needs to be shown how it is REALLY done... PEST STYLE!

Update: More Audio...

I went through more of the S&R show audio and pulled the clips where they discussed these two callers. I know most people nationally don't give a shit about the Buffalo market, but its not going to be much of an attack if we have to depend on the local S&R fans to help out... they won't.

I had made an opening post on the 97 Rock's "Norton in the Morning (http://www.97rock.com/bulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=4)" message board Friday morning before I went to work...

... a simple message to Larry Norton (and company) that O&A are BACK. That message board is like a graveyard... no action at all. However... it may have caught the attention of the Larry Norton staffers because the picture posted also included the S&R team. I think that is what spurred them to attack the S&R show later that afternoon. I have no doubt that "Brian" is in the radio business somehow.

However... the more I listen to the "Trevor" calls... the more I think he is just some wasted stoner who met S&R at one of the Wednesday "cruise nights" and was just agreeing with Brian that the S&R show sucks. Trever was excited about coming down to the studio to show off his car... which makes me think he is nothing but a stoner gear head.

S&R were obsessed with those two callers during the rest of the show. They had their screener talking to Brian throughout the show, but never put him on the air again. They finally put "Trever" back on... but he couldn't refrain from saying the "shit" word... so they couldn't keep talking to him.

Unless O&A get behind this Monday morning... I don't expect much. For some reason, O&A have not been mentioning Buffalo lately. When they talk about the "new markets"... they mention everyone EXCEPT Buffalo.

This is a great opportunity to bring the S&R fans in, if they see O&A attacking another show for them. If Opie ignores it... I expect months of more uncomfortable radio between the two show the Edge.

The best source of entertainment in Buffalo is the Beast newspaper, it's fucking genius. They should get behind O and A, they're right up their alley.

Ive noticed O&A haven't really mentioned Buffalo or The Edge on the FM show.. I wonder if it's at all related to the attitude the station seems to have about O&A being forced on them. Maybe they're waitng for improved ratings to warm the station up to them.

It will be interesting to see the ratings when they come out, I think buffalo may be the only station they're on that had decent ratings before them.
