Once again, it's time for us to pick a new batch of lucky young fellas to fetch coffee, bagels, and catch abuse.

XM has informed us that we've reached the legal limit for tormenting a group of young boys, so we're looking a new batch of hopefulls.

Prospective interns:
1. Must be 18 years of age or older
2. Must be a current college junior or senior
3. Need to be able to commit from September 11th through December 8th, 2006
4. Must know the content of the show and what their duties and responsibilities will be as an intern
5. Must sign release form
6. Must receive college credit for the internship

If you're interested, SEND YOUR RESUME AND COVER LETTER (Microsoft Word document preferred)

...you should also send it to internships@xmradio.com...and make it abundantly clear which show you want to intern with.

Good luck!

Fucking college credit... It's the bane of my existence.

That's what I get for graduating... Banishment from work opportunities.

Is it true that ladies cant be interns?

I think it's a concern over what the females might hear/see that might become a sexual harrassment issue. Something like that.

Shit. Thats MY problem. Despite being having a BS in Journalism (w/ a specialty in radio broadcasting) my radio career fucking DIED after I graduated. I was news director of my college station, won several broadcasting awards and had a very successful internship w/ CC. I even got to cover Michael Jackson's arraignment for the CC mothership in Chicago. The sound bytes I recorded played on ABC radio that night

The local CC affiliate was going to hire me, but the GM said, "sorry, not enough $$$ but even if we did, we want to hire a HOLE to co-anchor the morning news." ok not his exact words but you get the idea.

100 submitted resume's and 3 rehab's later ... I work on an assembly line, and my BOSS 'no speaka engish'. God Bless America

i started off as a radio major in college at Hofstra. and they put you through so much BS just to take the actual course to get on the radio that i finally called it quits.

to make it even worse when i was a freshman, i had lined it up to intern with the show when it was on NEW (this was back in 99) and my school shot it down because only juniors or seniors could do internships. and w/o that college credit i got the shaft.

the lesson here is, fuck radio, fuck college, fuck me

Hey, i was the news director for my college station/event planner too. I thought about getting into radio as a career but there are limited opportunities and i don't feel like being a nomad for half my life and working boards. The college station did afford me some cool shit. I interviewed incubus, local politicians, i got free concert tix and i brought norton to the school to do his brand of comedy. nortons show was the first sell out in the school in years. that includes chappel and 50 cent and others. the SA board took my cue and got bigger acts and then we had dylan and greenday.
The whole college radio thing is fun.... but then life starts.

Alright, maybe someone can clarify for me... XM has made it a very stringent point that you MUST be a college junior/senior and receive a college credit... So how is this new Nosferatu guy like 38? (Not to say you can't go to college at 38, but it seems unlikely.)
