If you listened to his show, wasn't it weird to hear dude out of his element? I'm glad O&A didn't go on any radio show during the dark period, it wouldn't have sounded right. They would've been on someone else's platform instead of their own.

I listened to Star when O & A did afternoons. His show was great when he was on Hot 97. To me at least his show never had the same heat when he was on Power 105. In all fairness I didn't give it much of a chance since O & A moved to the mornings by then. When O & A got canceled he really didn't pay it any mind. He just kinda said they shouldn't have been removed but its no skin off my ass. They ain't putting food in my mouth so I can't care about that.Today he sounded very out of his element. His show has a very tongue and cheek (if I may) sense of humor to it. He went in that direction and it just didn't work. I don't think he was attacking O & A.

I haven't heard the interview yet but I have much respect for Star. His show on Hot 97 was very good, haven't heard him when he switched to 105.1. One thing you might wanna think about is Star taking over for Leslie Gold and her show getting bumped to the 7 oclock hour. Star doing the afternoon drive shift on Free FM. Again, I have not heard the interview but might be a reason O&A seemed overly nice. Just like JV and Elvis put on a pretty good show when O&A are on Free FM but they sucked when they were XM only. Here is what I took from the interview; Star was trying to use the interview to boost his career and get his name back in the paper by having something happen during the interview with the boys. If you notice early on Opie, Anthony, and Jimmy were asking serious questions, and Star kept on making racial or “out there comments” most likely hoping to get the boys going and it would have been big news. When the interview stayed more on the serious note is when Star made the “O&A is a gay name” comment, but the boys didn’t bite they responded to what he said but basically shot him down and he had to shut up. I hope we never hear from that douche ever again on any kind of forum.

I guess I'll add my observations:

1. Kiss the Ring? This started the interview. They couldn't have known how serious or how much of a douchebag he was at this point. They didn't SLAM him on this, but stood their ground. At that point they didn't really know what they were dealing with. The kiss the ring bullshit could have segwayed into a normal interview.

2. They called him out a few times on the fact that he was pretty much saying NOTHING. He wouldn't even come close to getting into the nitty gritty of the DJ Envy shit. He kept chalking it up to "street talk/ghetto talk".

3. They definatly pushed back when he was saying "O&A" is gay.

4. Once they knew he was bringing NOTHING, Opie said, "anything else". That was the ultimate punch in the mouth.

The only thing I wish they would have hit him on, and I could be interpreting this wrong is the way he dismissed the 'ghetto talk' as if the 3 white boys in the studio couldn't understand.

Star's biggest F-up was going into the interview like he was the captain. Since I'm familiar with that guy's show, the "long haired faggot", "bang bang shoot em up nitta die slow", and "give em a round of applause" are staples of his shtick, and he carried himself in the interview like he was the interviewer and not the interviewee (if that's even a word).

I did like that he didn't even acknowledge the racist remark from the first caller. It was kinda lame, it was far from funny.

After hearing this I can't see what more people wanted them to do.
From reading this thread it sounded like they folded but Opie got right back on him when he said O&A sounds gay and made fun of his name later and Anthony challenged him on the pool joke and how/why it bothered him.
I think he thought he was just tossing the ball around but made some bad conversational decisions.
He was trying to be like he (probably)was on his show, hard to do in this kind of situation.
He ended up just looking like a dick but not enough of one to make any kind of impact as it was forgotten about in minutes.
