Just got back from the movies, thought I would share that in the beginning of the movie World Trade Center I saw a WOW sticker. Not in passing either, I good long shot at the sticker.

If you go see the movie, its impossible to miss it. There is a part in the movie, the beginning, when the cops are getting dressed prior to line up. One of the cops, has a WOW sticker in their locker. The old WNEW one.

Thought you all would be interested. The movie was pretty good. Tough watch, put together well.

Sounds like something pretty accurate of the time though.

Saw the movie today. Not posting about the movie itself, but at the start of the movie when the port authority officers were in their lockers, one had a WOW sticker on his locker.

This also merited a 5-10 minute discussion on this morning's show during the first break....

An WNEW WOW would've been "time-appropriate", but to focus on it, given that movie is a little strange. If it were a comedy or almost any other kind of movie, it would be pretty cool

After listening to the 9/11 O&A shows they did it's a testament to the
stand up guys O&A are. They are the real deal.

Yeah people should go on oavirus.com and download the 9/11 show O&A did. Opie's said its a show he's very proud of and they did a great job. Every true O&A fan and pest should give it a listen.

I agree 100%. OnA and RnF made those first few days a little easier to deal with. I listened back a while ago about a year and a half maybe, and it's fucking surreal to hear all that again. If you havent heard the RnF you should download that one too.

Keep in mind the 9/11 show is something like 5 1/2 hours long. It's not something you can just give a quick listen.

Na, I heard that show once. I am still not ready to listen to it again.

Thinking about it again makes me want to go visit Habib.

I might want to find a few shows after that one where Opie gives the sand golfers the respect they deserve.

Listening to the 9/11 show is hard enough. Opie said it time and time again......he never wants to do a show like that again......EVER! He also said he will never listen to that show again. Its one of those shows where the "actor who plays opie....Gregg Hughes" is in studio.

Ha I never suggested it was quick. Just that it is a very strong piece of radio, and being that there are so many new listeners since then, it should be heard, especially those who say they're pests or huge fans. There's more to them than the goofy shit, and especially these days when they don't just rip someone to shreds unmercifully (Whoop, Star), people get on here and freak, maybe they don't know the full scope of the show. Listening to the show is good on multiple levels.

In the first 10 - 12 minutes of the movie you see the port authority workers in a locker room getting into their uniforms to work on 9/11...for approximately 8 seconds the inside portion of the locker has a wow sticker...it appears it was just "wow" and the "opie anthony WNEW 102.7" white type was blacked out.

Thanks in advance...

Go to www.ronfez.net On the left side of the page there is a File library tab to link you to their download stuff. Unfortunatly there is no search function.

There is one funny part of the show, if I remember correctly. Funny now that is. I remember Opie said he heard about the attacks on the Sports Guys show, and questioned if Farrell's ratings were bad enough to make up a story like that.

i just wonder if the production designer or the people doing the set dressing are O&A fans or they were just being really thorough when finding relevant "New York stuff" to dress the set with. i haven't seen it yet, but supposedly the WOW sticker gets a considerable amount of time on screen, and that had to be a conscious decision on someone's part. who knows, maybe Mr. Stone is an O&A fan.

well we can hope, can we? :icon_mrgr

I saw it yesterday (movie = ehhhh) and yeah, there's absolutely no missing that sticker. For a sticker on a locker in a movie it's in your face like a billboard. I didn't notice if it had the WNEW logo but there's absolutely no missing that sticker. I had even forgotten about this thread until I saw that sticker so I wasn't really even looking.

Are you serious? This is a comedy. Nick Cage is the star, the unintentional comedy from his horrid acting will have me laughing. By the way, I think there was a WOW sticker on a suitcase in Schindler's List.

Nic Cage's interviews are more comical than his acting.. what a twit. the sticker is topical maan!

Given the popularity the boys enjoyed with New York's finest and bravest, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the men around whom the movie focused were fans and mentioned the show/sticker. The screenwriter for the move said in an interview last week that she spent considerable time with both men and their families in preparation for writing the script. Regardless of how it got into the movie, I think it's great that it did....

They did block out the WNEW part does anyone know why? This moring they were playing (on Free Fm in NY) the Superfly Snuka station ID and editied out when he said 102.7 WNEW which was the funniest part.

Probably because that affiliation's been over with for a few years now.
