maybe you know, maybe you don't: Richard Patrick from Filter hooked up with the brothers DeLeo from STP and someone else doing the drums. last i heard, Richard Patrick and Filter were friends of the show or atleast favorites.

Anyways, for those with the curiosity, check out their song "Goodbye" on their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/armyofanyone

i kind of like it. tell me what you think because i care.

I've dug Mr. Patrick and his "band" since "Hey Man Nice Shot". In fact - Short Bus is in frequent rotation on my MP3 player.

What's the deal with Reznor screwing him over?

Did you know that keyboardist and computer wizard Brian
Liesegang, who was an original member of the band
Filter, toured with Billy Corgan's solo project last year?

You can read my review of one of these shows right here:

Thanks for the info on what Patrick is up to these days. :icon_cool

didn't know reznor screwed him over. are you referring this as to why rich left NIN? if so, this is different to what rich said. i recall rich telling a caller on O&A (downloadable on oavirus) that he quit NIN cuz he was bored. he didn't play enough.

reznor never registered as a nice guy in my mind ever, so if he did in fact screw someone over, i wouldn't be surprised much.

Short Bus still gets heavy rotation here too, and "Under" was playing about 10 minutes ago. Great tune :p
I've actually heard "Goodbye" before and never knew who did it, or was behind it. Kinda cool to get the skinny on it.
I didn't know liesegang toured with Corgans project.
But I do know Patrick fell out of tune with Reznor during Pretty Hate Machine (Way to drone up the past 'eh?) over not being able to contribute anything creatively on the album or something like that.

Patrick hooking up with the stp guys, not bad.
I always thought patricks vocals with someone like paige hamiltons (from helmet) guitarcrunching would've been the best, though.

I love the album- not what I expected at all.

As for the Richard Patrick VS NIN bit:

Richard left NIN right before the recording of "the downward spiral" while driving cross county with Liesegang after attending the funeral of (occasional NIN) drummer Jeff Ward. As they were driving, Rich decided that he was tired of being simply a "hired gun" of sorts, and decided he wanted to make his own music. So he left. He's taken many, many shots at Reznor over the years ("Captain Bligh" off of "Title of Record" stands out), who has remained unusually silent regarding Patrick. Rumor has it that the air has been cleared since, but don't look for them touring together.

I've met Reznor and Patrick before, and both of them were nothing if not nice. Reznor's just a control freak- and since the very beginning, its been said "Trent Reznor IS Nine Inch Nails". Some people just don't get along very well in professional situations.

I forget the exact story, but I've read/heard Richard saying that while he was negotiating with labels, Trent would be trying to find him jobs to make sure he wasn't hard up or anything.

As far as NIN goes, it's not even an argument that he's NIN with the occasional producer contribution.

Saw Filter in 99. I don't really like them but they did an ok show and Patrick berated the Philly fans, telling them "I don't come to your place of work and tell you how to cook the fries"

Hack line, but ok for a band I guess. Anyone who bashes Philly fans is ok my book. I won't be buying or listening to the album, it sounds like STP without that something special. But he's a good guy.

At the time when Take a Picture took off, Richard said in an interview plain and simply that he would be up on stage standing there waiting minutes for his 5 second part and came home from a long tour barely paid anything.

That's the skinny.

Well, then he lied. I saw them twice when he was in the band, and unless he was just running around pretending to play, he fucking lied. He looked pretty goddamned busy when I saw them.

It probably would depend on how the set was. If it were PHM heavy, there's a bunch of songs that barely have guitar, unlike Broken where it's non-stop.
