anyone hear anything about Apple discontinuing the Nano? Someone here at work just told me it was "all over the news" yet i was unable to find a single article about it...i just got one a few months ago and i love it...just wondering why they'd do that and if i should go out and get accessories now

fuck apple, they discontinue every god damn ipod. had a mini, broke, discontinued. i bought some accesories for my mini, then just modified it to fit my 5th gen ipod (cutting, grinding, gluing) remember all ipod docks have the same 32 pin connector or whatever, that is the only convenience of the ipod...thats it. so take advantage of it. also dont use itunes, use winamp...it can read the ipod just fine.

They'd be foolish to discontinue the Nano. From what I've read it's a hot seller, has been since day one and continues to be.
There'll obviously be a new version (they seem to revamp the line every 12mos), but really, what's the point in making it any SMALLER? The biggest change I can see would be a slight redesign and greater capacity at the existing price points.

I don't think its a discount, he might just be dumb and talking about the deal if you buy a mac laptop you get a nano for free/ a big discount. Thats how i got my nano, got a macbook and one was free

They just came out with an adapter to go with the Nano and Nike shoes. Why would they get rid of it,if they just pushed this new product.

I love how they make the chip fairly cheap (like $30), but the shoes all cost like$150, stupid Nike

apple has a very limited product line, they will only discontinue something once the new model comes out. so until the 'real video ipod' comes out (which will be a long ways off) your nano's are safe.
even then i think they will axe the shuffle.

I have a nano, hardly use it. I do like it though, cept for having such a limited storage capacity. Good thing I only paid like $70 for the 4gb :icon_wink

I had a old 40GB iPod that crapped out after almost 3 years, but the extended warranty was still on it and I got a 60B video iPod, and I love it. If Apple's site or anything on google doesn't confirm that the nano is being scrapped then I would'nt worry too much

Well, if you hardly use it, surely you wouldn't mind parting with an operating 4gb nano for the same price you paid for it minus 20%.
$55 seems fair, as long as it's in good condition. PM me and we'll set up a transaction. :icon_mrgr
